Anglia Birthday Club: Final Edition, 15th July 2002

To mark Anglia's 60th birthday, the end of an era in Anglia's on-screen history.
Sarah Burrell and BC the leopard cub present what would be the final edition of Anglia's Birthday Club on Monday 15th July 2002. BC had been a regular on Anglia's presentation from way back in 1980, when he was introduced to the screen by announcer and newsreader Helen McDermott. McDermott had previously worked for ITV South-West broadcaster Westward, and dabbled with the station's (equally famous, for those who lived there at least) birthday mascot Gus Honeybun (now the star attraction at South-West theme park Flambards), and when moving to Anglia Television, she decided to give the station its own birthday mascot too. After a competition to decide his name, BC arrived on Anglia screens!
Here, Sarah Burrell and BC bid bye-bye from the beach by busking about buses before BC bothers Burrell with a blow-up buoyancy aid!
Apologies for the grainy, slightly blocky quality, I had to recover this from a RealVideo file grabbed from a cheap Taiwanese video grabber card. If I find the original AVI file, I may re-upload this.

Surprisingly, despite this being the last Birthday Club edition for Anglia, it looks like that Sarah and BC didn't give both of their proper farewell... even though the email notice from the Anglia House didn't show up at the very end.
