I mean the background not shifting isn't really a massive mindblowing thing, the background is just one drawing but is hidden through camera perspective and as the scene goes the camera pans through it. But I can see what you mean since things like hyper speed lines only happens due to probably some production shortage where they're forced to limit their resources like limiting the backgrounds and the sorts

Its the quality vs quantity in play. Sure most "sakuga" pieces are quite great on quality too,but thats becaise they have so many elements going for them. But when its just a simple thing done to perfection, you know that way more thought and care was put into it than anything else out there

Animation like this or from cowboy bebop action scenes are way better than modern overload animation.

If I were to make a manga and get an anime adaptation I would want it to look like this. Don't get me wrong anime now days is beautiful but I always liked the old school quality of older anime like 2004-08 bleach, 05-09 One Piece, Buu saga DBZ, Samurai Champloo, Claymore, Hajime no Ippo. Gangsta is one of those anime that still kinda keeps that old school like with it still looking modern
Well, Bakis fight scenes in comparison are super slow and sluggish. Dont get me wrong, i love me some baki, but their fighting choreo is more based on explanation. While i think that Baki has the better story, i really loved Kengan Asura for the quick and fluid fighting choreo. Even though its absolutely ridiculous like baki at points, you can tell the author really understands how a professional fight should feel. Especially since usually in Baki they throw devastating singular power moves, Kengan puts the eggs in the basket of combos, back and forth exchanges with distance management. Both definitely have their flaws and positives
i love how they don't make the fight just dodge and they make the blocks really useful, they fight like real boxers without exaggeration like techniques that wouldn't work in real life, as a boxer i love that
This is the kind of fights I want to see in a Real Fight too. Two legends fighting each other and smiling like these two are doing not being beaten to death like Mac did to Liu 😤
Watching vinland saga and rewatching megalobox made me realize in a way they are the same where the first season is nonstop fights and the second season is just becoming a better person

Something about this song is the subtle train horn in the background, almost like the fights a runaway train waiting to happen, something that easily gets out of hand. Which segways neatly into Sachio throwing the towel for Joe when he fights Mac.
it was intentional. Instead of expecting an all out brawl until one of them almost dies in the ring. Subverting the viewers expectations was what they wanted
And agreed. I was ready for the animation to go off in the season/series finale but instead we got half an episode of billionaires debating whether someone should be turned into a guinea pig or not.
