- LIVADIA PALACE, CRIMEA : The Most Expensive Imperial "Datcha"
It is the last residence built for the Russian Imperial family, the Romanovs. The last time the Romanovs visited Livadia was during the spring of 1914.
Livadia Palace was also the site of one of the most important political events of WWll, the Yalta Conference. It was attended by the 3 heads of state from the anti-Hitler Allied Forces. It included representatives from the USSR, the U. S., & Great Britain.

So interesting! I love learning from you about the Romanov’s! Such a crazy story with a twist/tragic ending eh? 😮💡📚🤩
Also, I love your Canada shirt! 🤩🙌 🇨🇦. I want to get one like that but instead of it saying “Canada” I want it to say “Philippines” ☺️🇵🇭🤩
I'll say tragic end of the Romanovs, I get chills hearing their story 😱.
Thanks! I asked my friend to bring me something Canadian except maple syrup and that's what I got 🤣🤣🤣. You should have asked aunt Cora to have bought u one 🙃
Igorota In the City did you know that many conflicting stories have been released, but because the entire ordeal was hushed, it is difficult to discern which version is true. Most scholars do agree that in the early hours of the morning, Tsar Nicolas and his family were woken up early and sent to the cellar. Meanwhile outside the cellar, an execution squad was forming. When the squad entered, Nicolas and his family were told that they would now be killed, and before Nicolas could finish the word "what?!", the first shot had been fired. The basement scene was a massacre, as the family members were not only shot, but also bayoneted. It was particularly difficult to bayonet the women as the family was in constant fear and therefore kept their jewelry sewn and stuffed inside their corsets, which allowed the diamonds to act as armor plating. When all was said and done, no one in the family survived. Nicolas could have spared his family this fate, if only he would have allowed for dilution of his power, undoing the fate of the millions of Russian's who died for him 😮📚☺️ learning is so fun! ☺️🤩🙌
@@djvelocity yeah that's right! They even thought 2 of the children were alive because they were buried separately but they had been found and verified many years later. Also, according to the Russian documentary, Tsar Nicholas stepped-down of power but even so they were still executed. Tsar Nicholas' relative King George of the UK was supposed to send a rescue team when the family was transferred from St. Petersburg to Ekaterinsburg but they abandoned the mission because the Tsar's wife is of German blood.... 🤔
Igorota In the City wow I didn’t know that! 😳😮😳😮. I can hardly wait for your next vlog update to learn all about the interesting stuff (like this) that you’ve learned while abroad ☺️🙌📚🤓
@@djvelocity yeah learning little by little all about the history of this huge country. there will be more videos like this when I get to St. Petersburg.
Livadia Palace was not the palace of Tsar Alexander III. It was built by his son, Tsar Nicholas II, and his wife Alexandra in 1911.
