    It seems inconceivable now, but back in the 1970's you could buy asbestos sheet for boiler lagging. I still have some!

    Wow, they don't make TV accessories like they used to!
    That seems to be a decent gauge metal sheet.

    I think you should’ve used kapton tape instead of masking tape.
    Anyway, nice work as always 👍🏻

    You be careful or you might end up being an insulator in a Refinery😎😎😎. Nice work as is your usual.

      As an NDT tech that watches insulators in refineries, that comment made my spine shiver.

    I'm sure modelmakers in the future will evolve an extra hand somewhere (probably as a result of accidental self harm:-) )

    Great example of thinking for solutions, e.g. materials and tools. However, how was the hole formed in the brass boiler cladding, before or after rolling?

      @myfordboy  3 месяца назад

      The hole was cut after rolling.

    I didn't know the boilers were insulated. Is this usual for production boilers, like Mamod and Wilesco's? Is this your own innovation or is this common?

    • @myfordboy

      You are correct, Mamods and Wilesco boilers are not insulated.
