Tony & Cecilia, we are SO glad we found your RUclips channel!! We recently traveled from the US to Sevilla. We started with a direct flight from the US to Madrid & took the irYo speed train to Sevilla. It was a beautiful and comfortable trip, & SO easy! *We found an airBnB that was in the center of Santa Cruz and with the roof top terrace overlooked the gardens of the Réal Alcazar and the Catedral de Sevilla (at night is even more stunning). We quickly learned that if the cafés are surrounded by crowds of people wearing headphones we needed to move on to a quieter space (tour groups). And we found some terrific places. We did go with a couple of your tapa’s restaurant recommendations & enjoyed them enough to return to them. 😋 We fell in love with the Bodega Diaz-Salazar where they serve their own wines (My fave was the Vino de Naranja). *It was easy to order tickets to sights at least a week ahead of time. Unfortunately we were unable to get tickets to The Alhambra due to an EU Summit being held there the week of our visit, who knew?! We took the speed train to Cordoba to visit The Mezquita (SO interesting & SO much more to learn) & The Alcazar de los Reyes Cristianos. And of course fell in love with the vibes of Cordoba. *We found the Festival de las Naciones & watched Flamenco performances while enjoying a cerveza & watching the crowd (especially the kids) move along with the song & performers. We found the wines of España lovely and very reasonably priced! Coming from the US, we found most everything reasonably priced. We did so many things (walked ~50 miles for the week) yet feel we could see so much more, still without leaving Sevilla. Thanks again for the tips & recommendations (& reading my comments).
Dear Theresa, many thanks for your detailed feedback, we were delighted to see you had a superb trip. Pity about the Alhambra, but there was nothing you could do about it. We repeatedly advise people not to finalize the travel arrangements for Granada before getting their tickets for the Alhambra. And yes, we can quite understand why you, coming from the States, found the prices so affordable. For us local residentes it's quite a different matter. All the very best to you!
Thank you Tony for sharing your tips and guide on Seville and other Spain and Portugal cities. Your videos are very well made (esp this one, which you digitally highlight the exact building and important parts). You are clear, interesting and informative. Thank you!!

Hi Tony. We are off to Spain next week and are so looking forward to experiencing Spain. I have been “studying” your great videos for the past months in planning our trip. I just wanted to say a big thank you for producing such quality material for us independent travellers . I have followed many of your recommendations from accommodation to train travel and pre booking attractions to avoid long queues. Again Thank u from a grateful Aussie
I was just in Sevilla and visited San Luis de los Franceses. Reopened in 2017, it is definitely worth a visit. You can also go below to the crypt! There is a charge to visit, but it's not crowded at all and very beautiful!
Thanks for the tip, Alison, as we mentioned on the video, you would need a lifetime to explore Seville churches, and endless sources of amazing discoveries.
Very well made video. We spent 6 days in Seville last week. We were in Spain for 13 days for our holidays vacation. Your videos helped us greatly. Thanks.
Dear Tony, your videos strike an attention with a highest level of professionalism! Thanks for all the amazing insights you give! My husband and I planed our trip to Seville on 22nd of December, where we spend 3 nights. Would you recommend to visit the Cathedral and Giralda and Italica on one day?
Thanks a lot for your kind words, Tamar. In winter I would go to Itálica in the morning, as it gets dark earlier and if you visited Itálica in the afternoon you would have to cut your visit short too early. You could be back for Seville for lunch and fit the Cathedral and Giralda in the afternoon. But make sure you prebook your tickets for the cathedral. All the best.
Thanks so much, Tony and Cecilia, for another excellent guide about where to go in Seville! I am trying to buy the tickets for the Cathedral but it seems that there aren't any available. Is it too early? Is it possible that they have not made them available for the month of May yet?
¡¡¡Querida!!!! I've just had a look and it seems the tickets for May haven't been added to the system yet, you will have to come back later. All the best!

Hi Tony, thank you for your wonderful and very helpful videos. We are preparing our third trip to Sevilla in March. In 2005 and 2013 we enjoyed the flamenco performance at Casa de la Memoria and were planning to go back. But since you have only one recommendation, the show at the Flamenco Dance Museum, I am wondering which one to choose.
Thank you for all those great videos with so much information. Me and my husband just came back from Andalusia and visited Seville, Cordoba, Granada and Malaga. With your help, we always knew what to eat and where to go! It was an awesome and tasty trip! Thank you so much! ❤❤❤ P.S. We‘re interested in visiting Madeira, the Azores or the Canary Islands, especially Gran Canaria. Is it worth it and are you planning to do a Video on those island?
Great to hear of the success of your trip to beautiful Andalusia! Off the islands you mention we've only been to the Azores, but have no videos on any of them, only on extraordinary Lanzarote.
Hi Tony, we absolutely love your videos, and have been studying them closely for the past month! One question is do you have any recommendations on the best method to get to italica? We heard that you can take a bus but also there are private transport companies, but they seem to be expensive. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!
Hello! We've been to Itálica twice and both times we got a Cabify/Uber. As we were four, it turned out quite reasonable. Otherwise, take the bus we indicate in the video. A great 2024 to you!
Olà Tony & Cecilia, your channel should be sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, or at least, the Tourists Offices. You really deserve it!
Enjoy ! Um grande abraço .
Another great video! So glad you have made one for Seville. I've been there twice in the last 6 years. The one place we did not visit but was in my plans was Italica. The week we were in Seville happened to be during the time when Game of Thrones was filming. I am surprised that so many videos fail to mention this site. You definitely have the best advice I have seen on RUclips. Keep up the good work. All the best.
In the Reales Alcázares, both in the palace and in its gardens, scenes from Game of Thrones were also filmed, when they wanted to represent the Kingdom of the South, Dorna.
Hi Gary, there are so many things to see in the basic visit to the Alcázar that we would only add the Royal Chambers if you had a specific interest in them and also plenty of time.

Great video. What would you recommend as a day trip from here? Been Malaga and Granada so seen those sights and always want to fit in another city. Thanks
Hi! I love you videos, keep it up! I have a question for you please, What taxi option do you think I should choose when landing in Seville at midnight/1 am? go to the Taxi stand outside the airport? or prebook a taxi through an app? Is there any app you prefer? Uber or Bolt? As can not use Cabify with a foreign number, Thank you
Hi, we don't advise taking taxis in Seville, they are notorious for ripping-off clients. Go for Bolt or Uber, we usually order whichever service is cheaper at the time.
Hi Tony, Very informative video. I'm off to Seville for my b'day. May I ask how did you get permission to use drone ? Should I request permission in advance in some website ? - I have dji SE 2
Hi Mirtula, as it is nearly impossible to fly a drone legally in Spain (watch this short video ruclips.net/user/shorts58SfaHnSrc4 ) we use drone shots from a stock library, with permission.
Tony and Cecilia Great video on Sevilla. We are traveling to Sevilla during Semana Santa (March 27 to March 31, 2024) and want to ask if you have any resources / connections that you can recommend so we can rent a balcony on Thursday night? Pablo
Hi again , I need to ask u please , How can I go from the cruise terminal in Seville to the main city ?? Is it far ?? Do I need to buy a transportation tickets ? ( for buses / metro …?) Please , let me know .. thank u
Hi Tony. We love all your videos and will be in Seville in March. Not sure where to ask you questions, so will try here. We will need to get a taxi from the train station to our hotel in central Seville, near the Cathedral, and have read that it is easy to get swindled by taxi drivers who pick up from this location. Have you any tips on how best to choose a reliable taxi service? Thanks, Jenny and Gary Clifford
Hi Jenny and Gary. Perfect place for your Seville questions. Taxis in Seville are a true pain, probably the worst in Spain. Rather than taking a taxi, take a ridesharing service, in Seville they work really well. The companies Bolt, Cabify and Uber operate in Seville. All the best!
Thanks, Tony, that's very helpful. Does the same apply to taxis in Madrid? We will need to get from Atocha station to our hotel near the Palacio Royal, with luggage, and walking or taking the metro don't look viable options.@@ROADTRIPSpainandPortugal
@@garyclifford3149 Gary, since we deal with Seville here, why don't you ask us on a video about Madrid, like this one here ruclips.net/video/eP_f_i9vGxg/видео.html
Hi Tony, can you advise whether we need a ticket to attend Mass service at the Seville cathedral ? Or is there a separate entrance to the cathedral for attending Mass ? Thank you.
Franciscus, as far as we know, you don't need tickets to attend Mass. Mass times are strictly enforced, people enter the temple to attend Mass, they are not allowed to wander around the cathedral.
Thanks for your videos We are 2 couples from south africa who are doing a roadtrip with campers from Barcelona via portugal Porto to Madrid Can you advise which towns to visit on our way Regards Pilla
I do have a Question- I will be staying in Barcelona at the Curio by Hilton in the 3rd week of September for 2 days prior to my Celebrity Cruise. Do you know if that Hotel has a shuttle to the Cruise port...its about a 10 -15 min ride... Second, if I need to take a Taxi at the Hotel are the Taxis for the most part honest andnwill take the most direct route or will they take the scenic route? Also I purchased a tour with Viator to go to the Familia and the Park which included Lunch, There reviews look good...have you heard differently? Thank you.
Hi, as we deal with Seville here, we kindly invite you to leave your questions in these two videos: - how to reach the cruise terminal in Barcelona ruclips.net/video/eRbNEb4xpg0/видео.html - our Barcelona Travel Guide ruclips.net/video/AJ8A4PHB248/видео.html All the best!

I was thinking about going to Spain. 🇪🇸 I am a little concerned with Barcelona due to the higher crime rate. I am not sure about Madrid. Is Seville generally a safe place? How far are the nearest beaches?
Crime issues are very similar in all Spanish cities, we dealt with the most important issue affecting tourists here ruclips.net/video/eSiWLai2T2M/видео.html Seville is far from the beaches, a couple of hours drive.
its very unfortunate, I love your videos, and have used your guide before. I will not go to country that Iam not wanted and subjected to disrespect. I wish you the best Tony.

Hi, it's really up to the security guard. From experience, some of them don't understand what a gimbal is and apply to it the same rules as to selfie sticks.
It was built by Muslims and the Christian kings added the upper floor and the gothic palace .. etc. I would recommend reading what the Arabic and Muslim script writing on the walls mean before going to understand the history .
Thanks for the tips and tricks, they are very informative! My question is about possibility of getting the Seville's cathedral tickets on weekdays 2-3pm. Do you have any tips on how to obtain these free tickets as it seems their web site doesn't function properly? Thanks in advance and happy travelling, Tony and Cecil!
Hi, Yona, it seems to us the website is working ok, the problem is that those tickets get sold out as soon as they are added to the system. All the best!

Olà Tony & Cecilia, your channel should be sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, or at least, the Tourists Offices. You really deserve it!
Thanks so much for your words, Rick, hope you'll have a future chance to visit Itálica, it's a beautiful place full of history.
In the Reales Alcázares, both in the palace and in its gardens, scenes from Game of Thrones were also filmed, when they wanted to represent the Kingdom of the South, Dorna.
@@pedrolardies9597 indeed, and they looked smashing in the series.
Is it worth visiting the Royal Chambers in the Alcazar or just settle for the main areas?
Hi Gary, there are so many things to see in the basic visit to the Alcázar that we would only add the Royal Chambers if you had a specific interest in them and also plenty of time.
Hola, Tony ! How long in advance I should buy tickets for the cathedral, Real alkazar etc? Is there a combined ticket for the sites ?
Hola. Unless you visit during high season, a week should be enough. There are no combined tickets we are aware of. All the best.
Great video. What would you recommend as a day trip from here? Been Malaga and Granada so seen those sights and always want to fit in another city. Thanks
Córdoba or Cádiz, we have videos for both cities in the channel. But we strongly feel sleeping the one night in Córdoba is essential.
Hi Tony,
At the Seville Real Alcazar we can visit the rooms at any order ( so there is no one way system ) ? Is this correct ? Thanks, Franciscus
Hi Franciscus, there is a set order for the visit, but you can go back if you wish.
Thanks Tony@@ROADTRIPSpainandPortugal
From Seville going into Portugal up to Porto where we will drive to Madrid via Salamanca,Caceres
Is this the best direction to Madrid
Tony and Cecilia
Great video on Sevilla. We are traveling to Sevilla during Semana Santa (March 27 to March 31, 2024) and want to ask if you have any resources / connections that you can recommend so we can rent a balcony on Thursday night?
Pablo
Hi Pablo, and I'm afraid we don't have the connections you are looking for. Good luck!
We will be in Seville during the Feria. Where is the best place to view the fireworks on the last day?
Never been to Seville during the Feria, but if you ask at the tourist office I'm sure they'll be able to advise you on the best location.
Hi again , I need to ask u please , How can I go from the cruise terminal in Seville to the main city ?? Is it far ?? Do I need to buy a transportation tickets ? ( for buses / metro …?) Please , let me know .. thank u
Hi, the cruise terminal is in the centre of Seville, by the Maria Luisa Park. You can walk.
Is the Seville food video out?
Thanks
It's been out for quite some time, here ruclips.net/video/Y-eSLpyLtlU/видео.html
Ok Tony, thank you so much
Thanks for your videos
We are 2 couples from south africa who are doing a roadtrip with campers from Barcelona via portugal Porto to Madrid
Can you advise which towns to visit on our way

We intend to create a consultancy service to help with queries like yours, but so far it is at a planning stage.
I do have a Question-
I will be staying in Barcelona at the Curio by Hilton in the 3rd week of September for 2 days prior to my Celebrity Cruise.
Thank you.
Hi, as we deal with Seville here, we kindly invite you to leave your questions in these two videos:

I am travelling to Sevilla by train and want to know the best way to get to my hotel. I am staying at the Hotel Duquesa, Plaza del Duque 11. Gracias
Take a ridesharing service, no doubt about it. Bolt, Cabify and Uber operate in Seville.
@@ScottDuncan-n1l take the EA line bus from airport(5 €) . Hop off at last stop, at Plaza de Armas bus station. If you bring a soft luggage walk straight along San Laureano-Alfonso XII street (13 minutes until plaza del Duque) if the weight of your luggage ist heavy ask a taxi on the taxi stop, on a lateral bus station outdoor line at Torneo Street. The taxi journey it's 3 km. Start price of the 1'55 €, Minimum 4'5 €. The cost by taxi from Plaza de Armas to Plaza del Duque should be 7-10 €.
In total, if you are two people, it goes out with bus and taxi, 15 €.
@@ignacioheredia9599 Thank you very much for your advice!
Thank you for these video! Question you do know of any website to buy tickets to watch bullfighting in seville ? I just want to make i am going to real website and not a fake website. Thank you for your time!
Hi Melissa, we don't know of any such site.

Mistified by your comment.

Hi, can I enter gibal for mobil phone in Real Alcazar?
Hi, it's really up to the security guard. From experience, some of them don't understand what a gimbal is and apply to it the same rules as to selfie sticks.
@@ROADTRIPSpainandPortugal
selfie sticks can be brought in?
Selfie sticks are frowned upon virtually everywhere. They are not allowed in the Alcázar.
Did you use the gimbal in Alcazar?
@@robertcajkas9160 we don't use a gimbal any longer but I might have used it in the past, yes.
