The link cueing is a great feature. Being able to quickly preview what’s happening later in the track is ace. The new way to browse, search and see your tracks and playlists is great too. People seem to be looking for features like dual layers and on board FX but as a club DJ this is the last thing I need.
Finally, a reasonable take. All the hobbyists in the comments seem to be missing the fact that this unit is ultimately not for them. I don’t like Denon’s new players and most of their “groundbreaking” features are completely irrelevant to club/festival work, whereas the stuff Pioneer put in the 3000 will actually help me do my job better. I’m really happy with this unit.
The problem is that it doesn't give you the option. If a Denon user doesn't like dual layer, he can just not use it. But the feature is there and is useful for many others. Same for all other "fancy" features. With the new CDJ, a lot of modern options don't exist - is this really more professional?
Thanks for a honest and unbiased review. As you so rightly said, these are aimed at the professional that could turn up at a venue having never used them before therefore they must have a familiar feel. I was impressed with the sound quality, browsing options and large touch screen but mostly with the high quality jog wheel and responsiveness in terms of minimal lag due to the power of the MPU. I’m sure the ‘bells and whistles’ will come further down the line in response to those that actually use them.
I work as an event tech and our company does rentals. People rarely ask for denon prime and it will probably stay that. Most people renting from us dont care for "performance pads", or music streaming. But bigger screens and some minor improvements are welcome and getting rid of the CD slots is something I will appreciate in the long run.
I can totally see that. Unless performance pads are specifically your style, I rather have more functional buttons. Kind of a bummer regarding the CD. Sure, the vast majority will use a USB stick. But there are still many occasions where having a CD player would have been nice to have.
You don't see a problem paying full price for minor improvements? It's even more expensive once you consider that Pioneer DJ doesn't offer dual-layers on their top-of-the-line standalone DJ-player. So you have to buy/rent 4 units instead of two no matter what if you want 4 decks but I guess that's good for Pioneer DJ and their bottom line as well as gear rental services. There is also no redundancy with just one USB-port and if you ever accidentally disconnect your flash-drive this "high-end" DJ-player still only has a 4-bar emergency loop...Denon devices buffer the entire song. I could go on but I'm sure people renting these things simply don't know what they're missing, still I think Pioneer DJ will lose their "cLuB sTaNdArD" status in the future.
20:10 Eeeehh, no, it doesn't do that. Just like an image file with a VGA resolution doesn't suddenly get high res when you put it fullscreen on a 4K display.
@@DeejayPulse Yes, I am. But a picture that was upscaled from VGA to 4K, still doesn't look like a native 4K picture. That's not different with music. The first thing you loose when compressing music are the highs during parts where the base is very loud. You wouldn't hear it anyway, so it's filtered out. When you "upscale" the music you can never be sure if the highs never were there in the first place or if they were filtered out and you should add them again.
Block buster went out of business because of netflix ages ago.... pioneer is just acting upon the pressure from denon, but makes things not as good as denon and esp. for double the price. I mean a SC 6000 is a dual layer player for half of the CDDJ 2000!
With two sc6000m and one mixer x-1850 you have 4 players and a 4 channel mixer for 2.600€ less than 2 cdj 3000 and a djm 900 nexus that are 2 players and 4 channel mixer with less features. Denon has broken the market.
@@kathrynw3 that's different. Djm v10 is only a mixer and even more expensive than a djm 900 nexus. You still need 2 music players at least. For the price of a Djm v10 you can get a sc6000 prime and the x1850 mixer and you don't need more to start mixing.
I'm a vinyl-records DJ, i had played all inside my bag, but the club asked me to keep playing, i had to switch to CDJs and was surprised with these, didn't know how to use them haha here to learn, thanks!
As a Pioneer user, I must say that Denon is WAAAAY ahead. And when the time comes for my CDJ2000 NXS2/DJM900NXS2 setup, I'll go for Denon. That's the reality. The name of a product is not that important in 2020/2021. When a product with a less known name is 50% cheaper and 50% better than what you use/own...You change it. No matter the domain in which you work.
@@BlueHawk80 To be fair: it is removing a CD slot *and* adding a fast processor which makes this a computer. Plus a higher quality sound output (card). Also a bigger screen and metal instead of plastics. So in terms of hardware I think these components alltogether may be more expensive than NXS2. I do think this is an expensive piece of gear, but I also think it has better price/value than the 2000 NXS2 which was only a little less expensive and offered less than this. For home DJ the XZ standalone controller has good price/value. And the Denon range. I had the Denon SC6000M's, but now I got these CDJ3000's instead. Main reason is walled garden. You need to stay in RekordBox 5.1 to export music collection to Denon prime. And I wanted to use RB 6 with the cloud sync and mobile app, etc. And also the future iterations in rekordbox which would otherwise be lost for me. Surely there is a workaround for this, by maintaining music in two pieces of software. But the hours of extra work attached to that - on a yearly basis - are also expensive.
huge mistake on Pioneer not to include any sort of wifi or streaming. I bet they're trying to figure out a way to monetize another subscription service..
sʞsɐɯ pıʌoɔ ɹɐǝʍ ʇ,uop I’ve actually started using the effects a little bit more and some of them are alright, you just need to do a little tweaking and it also depends on the track. It’s a shame though because if they were better Denon would be set
Great review! I can see where these will sit in the industry, and although I do like the look of them, this makes me love my SC6000's even more!! Cheers guys 👊🔥
@Jayo Delaware Absolutely agree. The jogwheels on the Denon are where they are lacking, and its noticeable from my DDJ 1000 which I still have. Full package though the SC6000 is 🔥
Do you find the size and the shape of the play/pause and cue buttons to be an issue on the SC6000's? They seem so small compared to those buttons on the CDJ's.
I'm still perfectly happy with my CDJ-900 Nexus and I have brought them to Bars and outdoor events many times - one feature I like in his demo is the better seated jog wheel. It is about time they fixed that.
Come on why is everyone afraid to say this is a rip off.and it's no reason for these to cost what they cost when you removed the cd..REALLY....thank you Denon..Rane...and Reloop for remembering the other djs out there.
Its literally just the MPU. The only thing thats driving the price on these babies. That tech is not cheap to make and demand is HIGH AF. So....... yep. Prices will reflect. Just the way it is. 🤷♂️
Wow, it looks like Denon kicked Pioneer's butt this time around. Horrible location for the hot cues, way over priced, only a 9-inch screen, and no connectivity. Woops! What are they smokin' over at Pioneer? The Denon SC6000 got the hot key location right, it has a 10.1 in screen, and is $1499. Tomorrow I will be putting my order through for two Denon SC6000 decks. The CDJ has been the industry standard in the clubs for years and might be Denon's greatest challenge, but Denon is on the move. They've signed endorsement deals with some major DJs, so it might not be that much of a challenge, since that level of DJ can request whatever they want. Most likely over time clubs will just have pairs of both Pioneer and Denon decks. Not a deal breaker for me, but the play/pause and cue buttons on the Denon's seem so small compared to the CDJ's.
Leonardo DaCapo I mean you said it right there, Denon has to resort to paying DJs to even consider using their gear in the pro touring market. And that number is under 10 out of thousands and thousands of big name artists currently. Nobody is voluntarily changing their technical riders they submit to venues & festivals from pioneer gear. One huge reason that is not going to change is because many DJs love the ability to play an unexpected B2B set with another artist. With newer rekordbox, your library is no longer functional on denon players. No one will want to alienate themselves in booths by being unable to just walk up and play their USB they’ve organized and maintained for several years now. Don’t get me wrong, denon has some great features. But truthfully there isn’t anyone really in pro touring market that’s like “ah I wish cdjs could do this”. I work full time as a back line technician on major festivals and tours with some of the biggest names in the world. I can tell you that over anything else, they want familiarity. And they don’t care about the price cause they don’t pay for them. Whatever they put down on their technical rider is bound to a contractual agreement by promoter and production company putting on the show to supply that gear. If they want it, they get it. That goes beyond DJ gear. Most top end DJs have explicit requirements for booth monitor speakers, FOH mixing consoles etc. that cost thousands of dollars. The price of cdjs doesn’t cross the minds of worldwide touring DJs.
Denon has to pay professional DJs to use their products, pros pay pioneer for theirs. Also - why would you order anything that expensive without first trying it? Have you played on the 3000s yet? Might be smart move before making a purchasing decision.
So, its a coincedence every top dj played on a djmV10 as of late? Every brand sends out free stuff or make endorsement deals with pro’s or influential people to push their product..maybe pioneer even more so
@21:29 100 gigabit? :P i want that for my pc! (i guess u mean 1gbit or 100mbit?) Great review, good to see what has changed! I really like the new browsing functions, however i think pioneer will have a hard time selling these at this corona times... Would love to see streaming functions as well!
super useful review as usual, Jamie from a leaked photo i saw i was underwhelmed, but having seen this detailed review, this is a great update. Processor, screen and new hardware buttons to replace fiddly software ones are massive improvements. key sync is excellent too - possibly the biggest change for me (i'll assume the sound quality will be good). in terms of performance this increases your play next options massively. possibly the most creative addition. i'm really not convinced by the hot key placement. i'm glad they're on there, so it's a start! and it's a shame they're aren't performance pads. i'll certain there'll be features added in updates. particularly the centre screen for BPM, waveform etc. all in all, a solid comeback from pioneer. i think Jamie's observation about pioneer having to iterate, rather than make massive leaps is a good one. they have a dominant position in the market, whether we like it or not, so it would be a huge risk for them to tear up the general design/functionality. given there's no such thing out there as the 'perfect' device, i think this is a solid response to help maintain a good chunk of that share.
So let me just check, No dual layer. No performance pads. No inbuilt track analysing. No inbuilt option for hard drive. Hot cues in completely the wrong place. Rekordbox will probably start charging a subscription to use some features. At least £500 more than a Denon with all the above options, (minus the subscription). Sold.
@@keithlee4963 Well I just gave you example in one of the comments above.. denons are not performing well in harsh club env. they randomly shut down and start freezing up when overheated.
This is really huge technologie.I liked more ''Link Cue and Hot Cue'' options. These are so simple and succesful! CDJ 4000 i can't imagine. As he says,on the jogscreen will be great innovation. Thanks for this beauty guys.Lovely..
This thing landed from an alternate dimension where Nokia candybar phones are still hot. Does it include “Snake” on that cluttered and confused User Interface?
Here are the two key features people seem to think the CDJ 3000 should have that Denon offer in the SC range: - Dual layer - Internal HD storage But in clubs and venues, these are worthless features - Nobody wants to play dual layer live, they want more decks, and nobody wants to stuff about plugging a SDD into a unit at a gig. Here's the KPI for performing DJs: - Will I know how to use the setup? - Will my playlists and cue markers be as I expect? - Will the sound be good? No denying this unit is offering WAY lower value for money and features, in a vacuum, the DenonSC6000 is simply better... But if anyone thinks Pioneer have goofed or 'lost', they don't understand what their criteria for success here is. It's not about winning over DJs thinking about feature lists for their home setup, or providing value for money.
who on flat earth wud buy 2000 in 2020? what a year maschine + that is not really standalone and wow i thought pio will drop some s#it for 4k at least, ini was wrong ;D its 2.8....lord forgive em for them dont know what dem do..or do they? go Denon!
Me. But in all honesty I don't think I'll be upgrading. I didn't want to go with the Denon as they might be an alternative but I've never played in a club that has them unfortunately.
So you judge things out of how many features it have? Not how good it does things and the biggest issue “ the feelin” I bet you are a Windows android user and drive a chinese car with 10000 features...
@@ZETONEproductions Come on...Everyone considers features products have before purchasing and don't sound like Denon DJ is releasing shit products cause they aren't. This right here is a subpar product and it's obvious
Question about hot cue loading: What player/software, aside from Pioneers other CDJs and XDJs, doesn't instantly load hot cues when a track is loaded? Why were you so excited about that?
I’m not going to begin to compare this to the Denon, because let’s face it - the Denon players have more features for less money. All the people and venues who need top end multimedia players (james hype, AMC, big DJ Festivals and clubs etc) will likely be given these and we will continue to see pioneer on videos, live streams, gigs, festivals and tutorials - so pioneer will always hold the market share. They will be the players for every top performances that we see. Guess all we can do is spend less than half the price on a Denon setup and laugh at any ‘prosumer’ splashing out on these with their own money
You are 100% right. Problem for me is that I absolutely hate the look and feel of Denon gear although they are miles ahead by the technical aspect. That personally doesn't help me a bit though if I don't like to work with the units. For example I always feel like the SC5000/SC6000 looks like a freaking spaceship with that imba-large screen. So i guess i won't be upgrading from my 3 CDJ 850s anytime soon. Neither to newer CDJs nor to Denon Equipment. Relying on all these new fancy features (waveforms, sync, key sync, visualization) takes away a lot of fun as well.
Same here Bro, I was expecting a price tag lower than 1500 USD (which would make sense since it has less features than SC6000) but holly cow, Pioneer are optimistic as a 40 years old obese lady applying for Victoria's Secret model!
So adding compressor and 4 band eq is just like other color fader cap but here we don’t able to “years proved workflow” sounds a bit strange. Denon has a chance now. Real chance.
It's definitely time for Pioneer to leave the stage. Bought the Denon DJ SC6000 setup a while ago and seeing this I would recommend everyone to do the same.
Awesome review, thanks! Small correction: 21:30 it is only 1Gb ethernet port. The highest that these go to on super high end enterprise servers is 25Gb lol That being said, 1Gb ethernet is more than enough to simultainiously stream 6 WAV tracks in 192kHz, 32 bit
What kind of DJ would want to rely on an internet connection for songs in front of a festival crowd? Imagine an interruption in service and waiting for the modem to reboot.
I agree with many comments here. NXS2 will still be in most clubs for years to come. Thats why pioneer only added a slight tweak. Denons are amazing from what ive seen but it will take years to see them standard in clubs. Odd times for DJS in 2020. You want the Primes but have to use the NXS.
Yeah, no club will install Denon, but not many casual DJ's will buy CDJ2000NXS2's any more as they're old and most home setups cannot afford CDJ3000's.
Feels... disappointing. How is this suppose to compete with Denon players? It looks outdated and has nothing special to it. Performance features are lackluster, and buttons are crammed or in uncomfortable positions. It's basically an sc6000, but worse overall and over priced. Man I miss when they were really ahead of everything, now this feels underwhelming.
It is more than just features, i have not much experience with the denon players; but the times i tried them at a store, they didn't feel like they would survive the abuse some pioneer units are exposed to
@Jayo Delaware You sound much more like a Fanboy here than most critical Denon users, kiddo. Market leader, yes, which makes them lazy (no innovation) and greedy (prices and subscription).
it have the right things that were needed for live sets... a better bright screen for day gigs, better overall screen, better audio quality and the waveforms overlaped, then all the other things are just for people buying it at home, but not usefull for big set ups in parties. I think it will remain as standard for many years.
Honestly, it's quite embarrassing how Pioneer can use their position as a market leader. They worked their way up with phenomenal gear, but now the options added are more or less only what Denon has already introduced months prior. In my opinion Pioneer shouldn't be allowed to rely on being the club standard because Denon is coming..... fast. Where is WIFI, Streaming, Multitouch Display, Adjustable Jog Wheel Displays, ...
All that stuff will come in firmware updates, but you're bang on here. I have a lot of respect for the way Pioneer changed the game. They done everything to deserve being No. 1, but now they're abusing that position and as long as people keep buying their stuff at their crazy prices, they will forever remain there and continue to rip people off. The only way it will stop is when the Pioneer fanboys open their eyes and shut their wallets
Well... approx. one year after the SC6000 this machine features way less functions and is way more expensive. I just dont get it. Why is there no dualdeck function? Yea, I know that playing with dualdeck is kind of messy, but if you don't want to, just buy two more players. Keysync is nice, but Denon had this 2 years ago. Streaming just with a PC, Lightshow just with PC, just one single USB-A-port (WTF?). Even the UI does not look like is has been optimized for Touchscreen use. Many really small icons or labels, that require precise movements. This is not how touchscreens work. But I guess all the Pioneer users will use the browser knob anyway. It is kind of sad to see what they did here. The new CDJ had a lot of potential but they missed almost every chance to make it competitive. Do I think Pioneer has missed the market at all? No. Because people will buy it. Fanboys would also buy it if it was a 2000NSX3 with one more button for 4000$. Sad. BTW, @Crossfader, I just hate this excuse that players are made for festivals or big clubs. This is just bullshit, sorry. The Tour-Series was made for festivals. CDJs were always made for the DJs. I know so many people that have 2000NXS2 at home. Such a high price cannot be excused by "this is not made for the home studio".
I do not know that many DJs that own CDJs at their home. I live in DC and we have a large community here and know 2. CDJs are mostly used in clubs because you can buy a ddj1000 or xdjxz and get the layout and feel
Too much hate, people need to see the potential, not what’s right in front of them at this moment. I am impressed, slightly disappointed with no duel layer, but with new MPUs, I feel like that could come along sooner rather than later. Good review, cross fader, very informative 👍
WTF NEW DIMENSION?????!? If this "Controller" is a new dimension, what is the SC 6000.???? And hello-2250 Dollar???? THE Denon SC6000 with double more functions cost 1500 Dollars!!!!!! And did any one realize wy they are name it CD? It's a XDJ but the price for XDJ is to high, so they name it CD OH Pioneer. - your end is coming....
I do agree. This is a time for small iteration and improvements. A couple of clubs I know will have this product by early next year. XDJ-XZ may be a reasonable but for me now
I feel like this should’ve been the logical update for the XDJ series. Not that many use CD’s anymore to mix but, you can’t really call these a CDJ if they don’t play CD’s. Not to mention cost is out to lunch compared to denon’s with dual deck capabilities. I feel pioneer is slowly pricing themselves into a corner. Great tech. Way overpriced.
Some things are great, but they are still behind Denon... Thus, I was expecting CDJ3000 to be cheaper than SC6000 but nah, Pioneer surprised me yet again.
Yeah, keeping in mind the recent price drop of Nvidia 3000 Grafix Cards with twice the power and half of the price. I was hoping this could happen here too.
@@Chuggnuts leaving something away (optical drive) while making it *even more* expensive inmidst of a heavy crisis. This arrogant sarcasm "only $100 more" speaks for itself. But hey, now you can buy 6 and link of these things, wohoo.
I feel like pioneer still needs to step up their game. They might be "the standard" but they are not really pushing the technology the same way they used to/ how Denon is doing it now. As a Pioneer user I ofc love them but I will not upgrade my products since I don't see any major reason, especially for the massive price difference. Hope to see them take the critism in a good way since a lot of people seem to agree...
I think Pioneer thought features = buttons on the unit so they made thousand of them thinking that will do the job... no, it won’t and SC6000 are cheaper&better
Nice review. Disappointing unit. "A new dimension", where exactly? No dual layer, Wifi built-in, on-board analysis, loop encoder or performance pads, no emergency AC power or full track buffer, USB port has just 1.0A and SD cards are limited to FAT with 32GB. For your mighty 'club standard' you pay 2400$ per unit, just ridiculous.

Why would they copy Denon with the location of the hot cues, dual layering, or the loop encoders? Those are 3 things that would be hated by all the long time CDJ users (99% of all the pro DJs who are not mixing on vinyl). 1. Yeah sure, the hot cues might be in an awkward place, BUT that's still a better place for them than the bottom of the unit. Do a longer set than your usual 1 hour EDM mix, and you'll see that the bottom of the CDJ is a great place to rest your hand, and adjust the jog wheel from. (Also, make sure to turn SYNC off, so you actually have some fun too) 2. Dual layering? Imagine doing a flawless 12hour set, and then you get mixed up between the damn layers, and you press the CUE on a track that was playing... 3. Loop encoders? CDJs have had the same LOOP IN / OUT buttons for almost two decades, why would they change it? Also...encoders are shit, when they get dirty they start to skip, or stop working. Have you ever had an NI Traktor Kontrol X1 that was heavily abused? If the answer is yes, then you know what I'm talking about. Also, these devices are used by professionals to earn their money. Big changes in the interface would mean that no DJ would request them on their tech rider, so no club/venue would buy the units. I agree that the screen could have a better resolution, or the CDJ could have WiFi for streaming (altho, this seems like a gimmick, cause I can't imagine a DJ going on stage without all his/her tracks downloaded & analysed), but in the end I think that Pioneer played it SAFE.
I just came to see how bad Pioneer "The industry standard" has failed to do anything new or innovative yet again, but they did raise the price again though....as usual good job guys. (Sarcasm).
The days of Pioneer are numbered. Denon will lead the way and become industry standard in the coming years. And the cdj 3000 justifies my opinion. I think its a complete fail.
Lol this 17 year old kid in my neighborhood has well off parents, he decided to be a DJ and they already bought him a pair of these so no matter how us real DJs know differences pioneer will alwasy sell because of rich people 🤑😂

Seems like Pioneer waited 10 yrs to update their CDJs but somehow they still ended up behind the competition...SC6000 are way better

Steve Willis and single deck so x2
With two sc6000m and one mixer x-1850 you have 4 players and a 4 channel mixer for 2.600€ less than 2 cdj 3000 and a djm 900 nexus that are 2 players and 4 channel mixer with less features. Denon has broken the market.
@@DavidErresesions Right, but that's why they made the Djm-V10, but it is the price of 2 of these players put together.
If you own a club that is…I’ve never owned CDJ’s myself, If I were to buy a pair I’d go for the DENON, not a shadow of doubt
The Pioneer simply feels good, is clearer, more intuitive, tidier, you feel at home here immediately.
Thank You for this Video, stay tuned.
Pioneer is kind of misusing their reputation as “industry standard” to sell underwhelming upgrades of previous products...
Don't buy it. What the hell is misusing? They are the standard and if you don't like it open your own club and brag about your Denon Performance Pads.
"CDJ 3000" - The only CD Player without a CD slot. Pretty ironic that they removed it and the price is higher though..
yes, but no. I mean, how much is that in parts? Like 10 dollars?
@@hINC Doesnt change the fact that the price went up (again).
Idk why aren't they call it XDJ....
Hopefully the next XDJ-XZ 2 will have this screen and jog wheel set up. That would be the real unit to go for.
Nice update, but still pretty disappointing additional features compared to the Denon lineup

goodbye Pioneer Dj, Hello Denon Dj again
Every brand sends out free stuff or make endorsement deals with pro’s or influential people to push their product..maybe pioneer even more so
The play/pause and cue buttons are bigger on the Denon players. I have the SC5000'S and have played many times on the CDJ's

super useful review as usual, Jamie
from a leaked photo i saw i was underwhelmed, but having seen this detailed review, this is a great update.
Thanks for your in depth comment Seth. Appreciated

This thing landed from an alternate dimension where Nokia candybar phones are still hot. Does it include “Snake” on that cluttered and confused User Interface?
Here are the two key features people seem to think the CDJ 3000 should have that Denon offer in the SC range:
- Dual layer
- Internal HD storage
But in clubs and venues, these are worthless features - Nobody wants to play dual layer live, they want more decks, and nobody wants to stuff about plugging a SDD into a unit at a gig.
Here's the KPI for performing DJs:
- Will I know how to use the setup?
- Will my playlists and cue markers be as I expect?
- Will the sound be good?
No denying this unit is offering WAY lower value for money and features, in a vacuum, the DenonSC6000 is simply better... But if anyone thinks Pioneer have goofed or 'lost', they don't understand what their criteria for success here is. It's not about winning over DJs thinking about feature lists for their home setup, or providing value for money.
Well said.
i think i'm just gonna keep my CDJ-100S's.

Question about hot cue loading:
What player/software, aside from Pioneers other CDJs and XDJs, doesn't instantly load hot cues when a track is loaded?
I was like shut up and take my money! Then calling out the price tag killed the vibe tremendously 😂
🤣🤣🤣
Same here Bro, I was expecting a price tag lower than 1500 USD (which would make sense since it has less features than SC6000) but holly cow, Pioneer are optimistic as a 40 years old obese lady applying for Victoria's Secret model!
Today's bedroom djs are tomorrow's headliners.
Yea, well 1 out of every 500,000 anyway.
That live future preview while song is playing is nice
So adding compressor and 4 band eq is just like other color fader cap but here we don’t able to “years proved workflow” sounds a bit strange. Denon has a chance now. Real chance.
It's definitely time for Pioneer to leave the stage. Bought the Denon DJ SC6000 setup a while ago and seeing this I would recommend everyone to do the same.

Awesome review, thanks! Small correction:
21:30 it is only 1Gb ethernet port. The highest that these go to on super high end enterprise servers is 25Gb lol
That being said, 1Gb ethernet is more than enough to simultainiously stream 6 WAV tracks in 192kHz, 32 bit
Good spot. Apologies for that and thanks for pointing it out!
What kind of DJ would want to rely on an internet connection for songs in front of a festival crowd? Imagine an interruption in service and waiting for the modem to reboot.
It won’t let you play the track until it’s fully downloaded to the channel, it stops any buffering half way through the tune
Why call it a cdj when it has no slot for a Cd 💿 I’d say pioneer feel stupid rn should of called it an xdj
About the key shift, is the camelot system or a proper pioneer DJ key settings?
Feels... disappointing.
Francesco Morello we have a head to head video coming soon 👀
The Cdjs are probably aimed for Clubs, festivals, etc who don’t care about the price, but Pioneer is just the Standard.
DwergieNL true
Can see why there popular even tho there expensive compared to denon dj, but i would still pick a pioneer probably lol
How is emergency loop still a thing?? This is one of my main concerns with the other CDJ's!
"Progress" and "club standard".
what is emergency loop
it have the right things that were needed for live sets... a better bright screen for day gigs, better overall screen, better audio quality and the waveforms overlaped, then all the other things are just for people buying it at home, but not usefull for big set ups in parties. I think it will remain as standard for many years.
Honestly, it's quite embarrassing how Pioneer can use their position as a market leader. They worked their way up with phenomenal gear, but now the options added are more or less only what Denon has already introduced months prior. In my opinion Pioneer shouldn't be allowed to rely on being the club standard because Denon is coming..... fast.
Where is WIFI, Streaming, Multitouch Display, Adjustable Jog Wheel Displays, ...
... more Tempo Ranges, true full track and power buffering, high-FPS touchscreen, Loop Encoder, Dual Layer, Perfomance Pads...
@@m-stat9 exactly.

Much less features than what Denon releases almost FOUR YEARS AGO. time flies
Thank you for review 🙏🏻 And you have amazing pioneer ear pads, where did you get them?)
Well... approx. one year after the SC6000 this machine features way less functions and is way more expensive.

Great Review Jamie, just watched on your FB page 👍
Why would they copy Denon with the location of the hot cues, dual layering, or the loop encoders?
Those are 3 things that would be hated by all the long time CDJ users (99% of all the pro DJs who are not mixing on vinyl).
1. Yeah sure, the hot cues might be in an awkward place, BUT that's still a better place for them than the bottom of the unit. Do a longer set than your usual 1 hour EDM mix, and you'll see that the bottom of the CDJ is a great place to rest your hand, and adjust the jog wheel from. (Also, make sure to turn SYNC off, so you actually have some fun too)
How is this a fail?
Complete fail.
@@phillipmarnik the only way it isn't a fail is if people keep buying Pioneer, in which case the fail shifts to the purchaser
Lol this 17 year old kid in my neighborhood has well off parents, he decided to be a DJ and they already bought him a pair of these so no matter how us real DJs know differences pioneer will alwasy sell because of rich people 🤑😂
@@DJaySplitSecond thing is most of these rich djs don't even pay for theirs, they get gifted by pioneer dj.
Im glad I just bought an XDJ RX2!
