I'm Mariah Alice, and I live the "solo female van life" with my dog, Finn. We've been on the road full time since June of 2020, and although our road has been met with what feels like a zillion ups and downs, we've finally gotten to the point where living in a van feels like home. Sometimes we're alone in the woods, sometimes we're alone in a desert, sometimes we're chasing snow or thunderstorms, sometimes we're trying to see all 50 states, and sometimes we're making weekly videos here on RUclips talking about our feelings, anxiety, loneliness, seasonal extreme sadness..... yeah. I don't know what I'm doing with my life. And that's okay. I think :)

THAT'S HOW I FEEL the things that should bother me, aren't bothering me.. I gotta move on fast. I love your channel, I've found a bunch of new nomadic content recently, and your videos are super relatable. My bad situation has forced me to sit still and watch the lives of other people passing me by, and I can't do it anymore.
Me and my dog were mauled by two other dogs two weeks ago and I have to move forward. I scraped together enough to buy an old class c to move out of the house we share with the two dogs that attacked us.
That moment at the end of your video is what I've been scared of for years... getting stuck alone at the end of a dirt road. But I've been living being stuck for as long as I can remember.
I pick up my rig on Monday and I'm not scared of anything anymore... 🖤

After a mountain bike ride I drove thru McDonald’s. Printed on the bag was “the Mariah menu” only in the app Dec 13th - 24th. Mickey D’s named a menu after you!
“When all his discomforts disappear…” is where you’ve finally gotten in the vanlife itself. Aimlessly wondering and often times not having a plan (which used to give you an overwhelming sense of having no purpose) has now become normal. The aimlessness IS home.
I experienced the same process.

Mariah it seems as though you have come to be at peace with yourself and travels even thinking that you could settle in some locations. It's possible that at some point you'll pick some place as a home base. It's good to see as many locations to see what they have to offer that best suits you. I just stumbled onto this channel and ive been watching a lot of it. Let me first say that I too find it soothing accept that about 60% of the time it kinda looks like you either just stopped crying or are just about to start crying. Which would normally make me sad but the fact that you just keep moving "ever forward" is kindve inspirational. I'm about to begin a new phase of life after quite a bit of personal tragedy and now I'm about to have a cheap diesel heater installed in my 1987 Dodge Falcon Campervan and begin my van life experience. Hope I can persist as well as you have...I guess only time can tell. Good luck to us both. If you're ever on the East Coast be sure to say Hi as I would happily fill your tank anytime. I have to say you visit some of the most amazing places and I live vicariously through your videos. The landscapes you have shared are truly amazing. Love your story have been watching since your early days. I have to say I like the green stove 2 burner setup better in your kitchen versus the super tall one it is way more stable. If you don’t have one already consider an induction cooktop if you cookware is magnetic as an alternate renewable source of cooking heat. It will save on the need to constantly buy small canisters for cooking.

Mariah! I just discovered your RUclips channel. I enjoy your insights on van life, and your episode on what you would do differently. I am about to order a van to upfit for van life in retirement, which is fast approaching.
As a motherly/grandmotherly comment, You Go Girl!!!! As you mention a long list of places and things you would like to see and do, and feeling you haven't enough time, I could not help but relate. I am 62. There are many things I still want to see and do. But, unlike you, I am not 22. I am not discouraged. I just must face reality that I only have another 10-15 years to accomplish what I want to do.
Granted, I have seen 45 or so of the US states, but not in the depth I would like to. I have been to 30 or so countries, but I have many more I want to see, and some (most) I would like to revisit.
You have a lot more years than I do, so make the most of them. See the world. Finish your USA tour, then see the world. And don't limit yourself to just National Parks. Research ahead of time, and thoroughly enjoy each state.
