If I had not decided to start going to church at a young age my life would be very different and far worse now. Gods grace is great and more than enough if you look for it. I love this song so much. We played this as the recessional sing for my son's funeral back in October 2014. It was and still is the hardest thing I've ever and could ever imagine going through!!! I prayed day and night for my little boy from the last 3 months of my pregnancy until he passed away at 15 days. I have to remind myself that God gave me my son and God took him to a higher place and that when I find out I was pregnant I made a promise to God that whatever it takes, whatever his will in my life and the life of my son, I would not fight him over and I would not stray from him over it. Hi Deborah, it is hard to imagine, out of great suffering and loss can come a song like this, I was walking and talking with the lord tonight imagining this very thing, as I thought about the story I was reminded of the early believers, who, when they were to be stoned or eaten by lions, or horribly crucified how did they go through it,and I realized that it is and would only be by the supernatural power of His glorious grace. I know that at times like these the Lord's grace abounds, and in the moment of great loss God is most glorified and magnified in us, when we are most satisfied in Him and His grace alone. I could go on and on about this. It is one of the wonderful truths about our relationship with Him. Oh glorious God we give you thanks that you have blessed us with this amazing grace and I pray that you might come back to this page and be blessed.

Amen CrzyBrear. We must remember that this life is very brief, this is not our home. Whatever pain and sorrow we go through in life, in the big picture it doesn't matter. Our home is a place where no sad good-byes will be spoken because time won't matter anymore.
In dark times, I wonder if this is how God treats his 'children' then who in their right minds can proclaim that other hymn 'What a friend we have in Jesus'. But........if Horatio wasn't a Christian then it would be yet another tragedy with circumstance, human error or chance to blame. Or a mixture of all three. Then I realise that He has promised to be with us through all our trials and tribulations. And that eternity has more importance then the temporal nature of life.

CrzyBear9 wasn't the cross, jesus death in fulfilment of isaiah 53 the outworking of his nature? To give up his life on behalf of his freinds, so that by his wounds we may be healed and by his sacrificial death we may be atoned to God?
Amen CrzyBrear. We must remember that this life is very brief, this is not our home. Whatever pain and sorrow we go through in life, in the big picture it doesn't matter. Our home is a place where no sad good-byes will be spoken because time won't matter anymore.

In dark times, I wonder if this is how God treats his 'children' then who in their right minds can proclaim that other hymn 'What a friend we have in Jesus'.
But........if Horatio wasn't a Christian then it would be yet another tragedy with circumstance, human error or chance to blame. Or a mixture of all three. Then I realise that He has promised to be with us through all our trials and tribulations. And that eternity has more importance then the temporal nature of life.
This hymn unites me with all my beloved family and friends who have passed on.
