TenTen, can you also do a video on internal cooldowns of reactions? Many of us, myself included, don't know how long to wait before trying a reaction again, or even how long an element will stay on an enemy (or how long crystallize lasts).
This is finally the video that made this click for me. I kept hearing about Overvape and Sunfire, but I never truly understood how you would guarantee that both reactions happen. Everyone that I've seen talks about it as if it happens simultaneously, but you going over how the gauges apply in order made it perfectly clear. I've noticed in game that I sometimes apply electro-charge and try to swirl it, but only get one element swirled (and one Kazuha buff), but I couldn't make sense of exactly why.
If you interested in more advanced stuff you can check kqm library. They have thesis worth of testing and conclusion on how things works in genshin impact
@Laurent why do I see all the comments where you're trying to make it a war between the two. There's nothing wrong with multiple different explanations.
When applying Anemo to an Electro-charged enemy, Anemo will react will Electro aura first, then if there's any Anemo gauge left, it will react will Hydro aura. Swirl tax is 0.5, meaning 1U Anemo will be consumed to remove 0.5U aura Kazuha's tap E is 1U Anemo, if the Electro aura is 0.5U or more, there would be no Anemo left to react with Hydro. However, his hold E is 2U Anemo, so if the Electro aura is less than 1U, there will be Anemo left to react with Hydro and trigger double Swirl.
For what it is worth, Sunfire is a completely different concept than Overvape. Sunfire is basically a shorthand for overlapping Bennett and Jean's bursts so that Bennett applies pyro to your character and Jean swirls the pyro off your character and onto the nearby enemies.
I just recently learnt of anemo infusion priority and now you speak of reaction priority with even more auras to memorize? This truly is just like school.
@@acerbus1146 thats literally anemo infusion priority, its the same for every anemo skill/burst that can infuse an element (except traveller, they infuse cryo before anything else)

If Kazuha's burst hits an enemy with no aura, neither the infused element or Anemo can trigger a reaction, so only the infused element is applied and no swirl happens. This "priority" is different with Sucrose (Anemo trigger will react before the infused element).

I actually never knew this! Very interesting
As a viewer who uses Yoimiya, raiden shogun, and xingqiu on my team, my response to this video is that lots of colored numbers go brrr. Since I was late to the Yoimiya video I also wanted to mention that Yoimiya normal attacks can hit enemies flying upwards from an overload reaction (mid-air attack accuracy depends on distance).
my only worry is that Dendro being so low on the reaction priority list will make it difficult to build reaction soup teams around the new triple element reactions Hyperbloom and Burgeon
Hi tenten. I love your content so far, I would like to request a guide/deep dive for a comp call 'soup' and another guide for freeze remove to release cyro and hydro aura to show up. Let's assume we have a character who continuously deals pyro dmg with 1U like and the enemy has 1U of electro and 2U of hydro. After the first atk electro goes down and 2U Hydro stays on the enemy. Is the next attack on ICD or since it's another element it's like it's another enemy so Vape happens?
@@antoniovaccaro8538 Well yeah but that's more of elemental gauge theory. I mean, as long as there's an aura on the enemy and your attack applies an element then reaction will happen
@@donovanroberto841 my doubt was right about the ICD since "normally" the second attack doesn't react (like Diluc/Yanfei NA with Xingqiu), but it's applied on the same element and on the same enemy. In our case the enemy is the same but not its aura. This given, as I read from your, ICD it's not shared between different auras
@@antoniovaccaro8538 Yes, since normal ICD follows the 3 hit and/or 2.5 sec rule. But some attack strings have no ICD at all like Diluc's triple E which each hit doesn't have ICD and applies 1U pyro. So back to your example in the beginning, theoretically if an enemy is Electro-charged and has 1U electro & 2U hydro, if you use Diluc's E (1U) continously then the first hit will trigger overload, and then the second hit will vape, and the third will vape too.
Aside from Quicken teams. There's also talks about a Fridge team which uses the freeze multi aura for the Bloom reaction. Hydro prioritizes reacting with cryo before dendro, also 1 unit of hydro consumes half a unit of dendro. So what happens is that, if you continuously apply cryo in a Bloom team, you'll create more seeds per unit of dendro, so more Ruptures will happen. Think about how your veggies last longer i the fridge, it's like that.
Wait. If I understand this correctly, then that means overvape Yoimiya is only possible because Fischl's electro application on her elemental skill is too weak?
Basically, yes. Both Yoimiya and Fischl applies 1U of their element. The thing with electrocharge is that it constantly reduces both element's gauges. This, coupled with natural decay, means that there will never be more than 1U electro on the enemy, so yoi's arrow will always overvape
That's one of the reason why raiden Bennett yelan kazuha is a broken team , and no xianling wouldn't be a waste as you can use hu tao xianling xinqgue fischl
can anyone who knows leaks tell me what will happen to freeze once dendro is released? since cryo x dendro has no reaction does it keep an aura which means you can trigger bloom and freeze at the same time?
Zajef talked about running Cryo in a bloom team, keeping enemies Frozen keeps them in place for the seeds to "rupture", but there might be issues element gauge and uptime.
I have a question. What happens when a character used his skill twice with sac weapon? Does the u remain the same as if the Skill was used ones or does it aply duble the u?
one thing I didn't quite get. Does the interaction between pyro and freeze consume any pyro units? like it takes for example 1 unit of pyro and then anything that remains reacts then with hydro and then cryo or is it just this interaction that exposes both auras?
I like how sumeru aka the nation of wisdom somehow forces players to 1. Read about atleast the collei chapter in the manga so they would understand the backstory and relate to her much more (and possibly dottore for his future cameos) because she will be one of the main characters for sumeru then 2. Learn atleast a small information about gauge theory or just get the idea out of it because dendro would maximize on doing these trio reactions especially that it introduces bloom the first official trio reaction in the game that is actually intended to be that way (not like overvape which just found out in theorycrafting)
Raiden apply weak electro, meaning only 0.5u of electro. In the example shown in video, we are seeing electro aura from Beidou which is stronger than raiden.
Electro charge slowly eats away at both the hydro and electro auras, ensuring that your 1U electro aura is never really, well, 1U. If you attack an enemy with just electro, the electro aura will fade away after about 8 seconds. If you attack an enemy with electro and hydro, although both auras are on the enemy, you will notice that they both fade away much quicker than if they were to have only one element on the enemy. Basically, Beidou has massive electro application and you shouldn’t run into this issue a lot. But it’s also important to know this because if you can’t eat away an electro aura, you can’t react with the underlying elements (like how you can’t vape a thunder manifestation even if it has electro charged).
You just know lmao. Keqingmains has a resource doc for who does how much gauge. The general rule is that one-time applications (Bennett's E, Childe's E cast, etc) applies more than 1 unit, and consistent sources (Oz, Pyronado, etc) applies 1 unit. But that's just a generalization
Only if there's a Hydro aura underlying the Frozen one and your Anemo skill has more than double the Hydro aura. Ex: Kazuha's burst's initial slash (2GU) on a Frozen enemy with 0.8GU Hydro aura underlying can result in a double swirl.
@@yubinator7455 Upon casting a Freeze reaction, Cryo and Hydro gauge will substract each other, the result is a Frozen aura with either a "leftover" Cryo or Hydro or none. Also, in the case where there's only Frozen aura after the reaction, applying Hydro or Cryo can create a new underlying aura under the Frozen one.
Even the reaction is not spared from freedom, Chinese impact. 1.5U electro and 1U hydro from reacting a pyro instance. YOU NEED 2U pyro for this huh? This is an example of very serious strictness.
because tax (i am not joking, its actually called gauge tax) and decay. basically when electro and hydro co-exist, they trigger subsequent electro charge and each ec has a cost which end up reducing the gauge also gauges overtime decay anyway but tax speeds it up so when XiangLing hits the multi aura, electro gauge is never above 1U as it get reduced by tax, so her pyro can totally remove the electro and react with hydro to cause both overload and vapourise.
Because Raiden and xingqiu keep applying small U of hydro and electro one after another, which "eats" up other aura simultaneously, keeping EC aura low enough for XL to vaporize.
I beg you to not talking on how burning and lack of cryo+dendro reaction will rose weak melt to top meta (as if it's not there already) in next video. Yelan 1.5U to 1U nerf is more than enough
It won't. For current Melt, pyro isn't a problem, Cryo is. Let's assume you have 100 star pyro character with infinite Pyro apllication. What changes? Nothing really. Ganyu already melts every charge shot and every bloom with XL. Ayaka would still be shit at melt since her Charge attacks and burst are multi hit attacks with standard ICD, so you Melt 1/3 of your attacks. Eula is phys character, Shenhe is a support. Then you have 4* team of Rosaria+Keaya, and this team already works as a melt with Bennet and XL, but are limited in power by their stats. So the only premier unit for Melt is Ganyu. That already works and melts every shot. One thing it does is that it would free up XL (But not Bennett, and since Bennett and XL are a pair in 99% of teams, so you don't really free up anything).

@@antoniovaccaro8538 Yes, since normal ICD follows the 3 hit and/or 2.5 sec rule. But some attack strings have no ICD at all like Diluc's triple E which each hit doesn't have ICD and applies 1U pyro.
So back to your example in the beginning, theoretically if an enemy is Electro-charged and has 1U electro & 2U hydro, if you use Diluc's E (1U) continously then the first hit will trigger overload, and then the second hit will vape, and the third will vape too.
and thats why team raiden national is so op
is there a list with all the character and their units ?
Just praying my phone can handle all the numbers when the next update drops
Which device u use?
Is there a difference between multi-aura reactions & multi-elemental reactions?
How does raiden national work if electro reacts first with pyro? Xiangling can get both vape and overload if I recall correctly.
no ICD probably
xiangling applies her 1 pyro without icd so after reacting with the electro it reacts with the hydro i guess? idrk
Or maybe after EC weakens both the electro and hydro aura. The pyro can trigger both?
That's one of the reason why raiden Bennett yelan kazuha is a broken team , and no xianling wouldn't be a waste as you can use hu tao xianling xinqgue fischl
can anyone who knows leaks tell me what will happen to freeze once dendro is released? since cryo x dendro has no reaction does it keep an aura which means you can trigger bloom and freeze at the same time?
Zajef talked about running Cryo in a bloom team, keeping enemies Frozen keeps them in place for the seeds to "rupture", but there might be issues element gauge and uptime.
Does yoimiya have strong pyro like Bennett
Why aura? Isn't it status?
I'm not sure, bit confused
I have a question. What happens when a character used his skill twice with sac weapon? Does the u remain the same as if the Skill was used ones or does it aply duble the u?
It applies the same u, it just does it twice. 1U and then 1U again is different from 2U.
One of the reasons my quick swap teams be OP asf one of my favorite is Bennet, xinqu, Fishel, baidou
That's not a quick swap team, you have to stay on field with Bennett to do normal attacks and keep spamming his elemental skil
You can swap beidou with Timmie and it will still be "OP"
@@jorgetoledo6358 that's only for like 30 seconds the partical generated is a lot
@@LandryArri oh might give that a try some time
@@Tabs5128 i shouldn't have skipped the Timmie banner
I hope dendro will be an addition rather than a replacement or substitute.
one thing I didn't quite get. Does the interaction between pyro and freeze consume any pyro units? like it takes for example 1 unit of pyro and then anything that remains reacts then with hydro and then cryo or is it just this interaction that exposes both auras?
It does consume pyro aura, and a lot of it. That’s why he said it’s impossible right now to trigger since we don’t have a strong enough pyro aura.
YEAH SCIENCE!
I like how sumeru aka the nation of wisdom somehow forces players to 1. Read about atleast the collei chapter in the manga so they would understand the backstory and relate to her much more (and possibly dottore for his future cameos) because she will be one of the main characters for sumeru then
2. Learn atleast a small information about gauge theory or just get the idea out of it because dendro would maximize on doing these trio reactions especially that it introduces bloom the first official trio reaction in the game that is actually intended to be that way (not like overvape which just found out in theorycrafting)
I'm sure overvape was intended, but yes it's the first obvious 3 element reaction.
wait so if freeze is a stand alone aura will you be able to swirl it and applying freeze to other enemies??
Freeze completely acts like a cryo aura, the only difference, is that you can shatter it with a blunt attack.
6:04 just click guys. trust me
Would this be in the test?

Wait so why does raider national work then? Doesn’t pyronado apply 1U, meaning it should just cause overloaded?
@@endercode1164 I'm pretty sure Raiden still applies 1u electro. It's just that it's often reduced by ec ticks and natural decay
@@tabbune ah yeah sorry mb.
6:05 hehe, nice!
How do you know how many units of elemental gauge a skill has ?
Testing lol
You just know lmao. Keqingmains has a resource doc for who does how much gauge. The general rule is that one-time applications (Bennett's E, Childe's E cast, etc) applies more than 1 unit, and consistent sources (Oz, Pyronado, etc) applies 1 unit. But that's just a generalization

When we swirl frozen enemy with kazuha, do we get only cryo bonus, or hydro as well?
If you can perform double swirl upon the frozen enemy, all your characters get both Cryo and Hydro bonus.
@@acerbus1146 yea that for sure, just wondering about swirling already frozen enemies (with frozen aura)
@@soldier_4th_class If there's no both underlying Hydro aura and strong Anemo trigger, you can't double swirl Frozen enemies
@@acerbus1146 alright, thanks!
If you apply Anemo on Freeze, you will Swirl Hydro and Cryo?
Only if there's a Hydro aura underlying the Frozen one and your Anemo skill has more than double the Hydro aura. Ex: Kazuha's burst's initial slash (2GU) on a Frozen enemy with 0.8GU Hydro aura underlying can result in a double swirl.
@@acerbus1146 When it will not have a Hydro aura? if the Frozen expired?
@@yubinator7455 Upon casting a Freeze reaction, Cryo and Hydro gauge will substract each other, the result is a Frozen aura with either a "leftover" Cryo or Hydro or none. Also, in the case where there's only Frozen aura after the reaction, applying Hydro or Cryo can create a new underlying aura under the Frozen one.
@@acerbus1146 I see. Ill just figure out how much gauge Kokomi, Kazuha, and Ayaka applies.
Even the reaction is not spared from freedom, Chinese impact. 1.5U electro and 1U hydro from reacting a pyro instance. YOU NEED 2U pyro for this huh? This is an example of very serious strictness.
I come from class just to sit in another one, lol. FML
Wait why does raiden national work even if xiangling's pyro application is 1U?
because tax (i am not joking, its actually called gauge tax)
and decay.
basically when electro and hydro co-exist, they trigger subsequent electro charge and each ec has a cost which end up reducing the gauge also gauges overtime decay anyway but tax speeds it up
so when XiangLing hits the multi aura, electro gauge is never above 1U as it get reduced by tax, so her pyro can totally remove the electro and react with hydro to cause both overload and vapourise.
@@mayukhmondal5552 Ohh ok i see, thanks!
Because Raiden and xingqiu keep applying small U of hydro and electro one after another, which "eats" up other aura simultaneously, keeping EC aura low enough for XL to vaporize.
Time to dust off the ole graphing calculators.
6:04 noice 😩👌
6:05 nice

I beg you to not talking on how burning and lack of cryo+dendro reaction will rose weak melt to top meta (as if it's not there already) in next video.
Yelan 1.5U to 1U nerf is more than enough
So basically cryo not reacting to dendro is a good thing?
@@lokrj super yes
Lmao surely that video wasn't the reason Mihoyo nerfed Yelan's 1.5U Clueless
Zajef already talked about it and I'm pretty sure it's already nerfed a bit in the beta
