This was interesting... thanks for the experiment. I think, though (and I am not a statistician) that it needs more control to be true. I think the majority of ebay clothing sellers, suits excepted, use the flat-lay method. So right there, the results are skewed because the probability for a flat-lay that sells is higher. A more exacting test would be to list x amount of same-brand shirts using each type of photo (e.g., 5 flat lays, 5 hanged, 5 on the form) and see what happens.
Yep, agreed! Also there’s flat lay on white background vs flat lay on a bed/couch/carpet etc. it would be cool if it could be counted by software rather than by hand. Thanks for watching!
Thank you very much for this video! Exactly what I was looking for. I've always done flat lay and I'm just used to that, but realized very early the importance of a mannequin for suits, just never got around to buying one and had a few blazers kind of piling up. I've got a few nice vintage blazers that need to be listed, so this encourages me to do so, however I'm thinking finding the matching pants if I can hang onto them and wait it out a bit might significantly increase both the overall sale price and STR of the blazer. Thanks again!
Two piece suits definitely sell faster and for more money, but I wouldn’t be too confident in finding pants to match a jacket on separate trips at different stores.
