what a lovely and easy going event. and nice to see familiar faces.
I’m glad I went after such a long time
I agree with your daughter- choosing a style ahead of time is useful!
How wonderful to have a large group of sketchers, including children!
I agree too. I’ve to give that more thought😄
Drew, thank you for taking us to such a wonderful sketch event! It was so inspiring to see all the different and excellent styles of sketches, and getting to touch base with a wonderful group of talented people! 🤩
Thanks for coming along. I seldom join them these days but I hope to show up more often. They are a good bunch of people to hang with.
Makes me want to join in! Thank you for sharing the good vibes!
You are so welcome! Please do. The group meets every month. And even in several countries:)
Oh wow. I need to do that here. When the freezing temperatures subside
wow! so many artists in the same place at the same time! amazing!
Yes some have been coming for years and they keep getting better and better:)
So many different styles from drawing in the same areas. That's what always interests me when I go on workshops, when we all put our sketchbooks down, all the different styles. Thank you for this video, I really need to take my sketchbook out of my bag more when I'm out and about!! I'm feeling inspired d now!! 😊
Yes the variety of styles are lovely. Helps me realise more possible ways a sketch can be outside of my own bubble. I notice a few more are painting with Gouache now.
@@Drewscape-art gouache is definitely a paint I want to try!!
Drew, thank you for inviting us to join you. Every minute was delightful. I had to keep pausing the video to savour all the fun. I hope you’re able to get some good quality down time soon!
Thanks for dropping this note. Glad I could share it with you:) yeah I wanna relax more. Thank you.😄
I really like your loose sketching 🎉
Another brilliant video, thanks Drew!!
Thanks for watching:)
Again, a laid back fun story about people, breakfast, and coffee.
Wish I had parents who were artists.
Time to build another time machine.
Oh, this looked like so much fun! I wish there was something similar over here, but unfortunately the USk group is 200 km away and on indefinite hiatus. 😢
Thanks for sharing. ❤️
There are many times where I don’t wait for a group gathering. And sometimes a group may not go to places I really want to sketch at. So I find 1 or 2 other sketcher friends and go out sketching as a mini group. Does the job as well:)
Wow….you guys can draw on high level! Time for me to look for an USk-group in my area😊
You can find one in your area from the main webpage urbansketchers.org/ 😄
What a nice plan ^^
The coffee plan right? haha😄
that one! haha😂 @@Drewscape-art
That's awesome you got a group like that to go to, looks like a lot of fun : ) Some really nice work there too, cheers :)
Yes they are. I seldom join them like I used to. But seeing how others draw does open my eyes to see what else is out there. There might be an Urbansketchers group in your city.
I'll def look outfor one, once it warms up a little here!@@Drewscape-art
@@MattCelfah cold weather does keep people indoors. Here it is the hot weather haha. The chapters are all here urbansketchers.org/where-we-sketch/#map
oh fantastic! there's one in cardiff andd they're doing one super local to me in April! brilliant news, cheers :)@@Drewscape-art I shall attend
Delightful ❤
Hello Andrew, I’m a recent RUclips follower and appreciated your video. You brought with you a fude pen, a clear demonstrator. Can you tell me its brand? 🙏🙏🙏
Hello Francois, good eye. It is a cheap no-brand fude pen I got from a local art store here. I think it’s one of those cheap China made ones online. It does work really nicely though. For a fude pen, I recommend a Hero 9018. Quality control for these pens are not high. But if you do get one that works, it works very well:)
@@Drewscape-art Thanks!
@@Drewscape-art Yours is probably tis one: ruclips.net/video/ifITagktSzs/видео.htmlsi=CE2oUTT06HzbBWeA
Do you mind sharing what ink you use in your fountain pens? It doesn’t seem to bleed at all when you add your watercolour! I have a “bulletproof” Noodlers Ink but it always bleeds on me… 🙃
Hello Melissa, I mainly use Platinum Carbon Black. The black seems more solid than Noodlers bulletproof. But for bleeding, the paper you use plays a part as well:)
@@Drewscape-art thanks Drew! 🤗💖✨ I’ve been using the Noodlers in a Strathmore mixed media sketchbook lately, but maybe I’ll try it on some 100% cotton paper and see how it goes. But I’ll definitely pick up some Platinum Carbon ink too.
Also, we have an Urban Sketching group in Toronto that I’ve been way to shy to go out to, though I love plein air painting and drawing. Everyone in his video looked so warm and friendly it’s making think I need to just get over myself and go already!
@@melissamartinart hmm strange. That mix media paper should be fine. Yes I’d certainly recommend meeting up with them. Ive not joined groups overseas yet. I’d like to explore that in the future😄
