Megatron's squirt gimmick represents the energy blasts his T-Rex head-hand would shoot in robot mode in the cartoon. Cohrada's squirt gimmick is based on the spitting cobra, whose main attack is to spit venom at an attacker's eyes to disorient them.
Necro Critic They really need to incorporate the BWN and BW2 characters into the ongoing comics. And with the cameos of the TigerHawk couple, that might not be that far off.
A part of me wants to say it's a missed opportunity to make a cowboy snake Transformer and not make it a rattler... but like you said, it has to be a cobra to work as a toy, and the hood works really well for the poncho look.
Megatron had a laser blast from his T-Rex head in robot mode so that explains the water feature. However the squirting gimmick is more realistic on Cohrada and Quickstrike as it refers to the spitting cobra, an actual snake that spits venomous saliva at its enemies...
This is one of those Japanese toys that when I first saw images of it online I wished it got an American release. Also a snake is kind of the beast mode equivalent of a motorcycle when it comes to transformers. Neither one of them has a lot of bulk to work with. Recent motorcycle transformers have actually turned out really well which makes me think they could actually pull this off a lot better now than they could back then and they already had some pretty decent attempts at making it work with a snake.
I love getting reviews of magnificent transformers that I never knew existed! The opening of the mouth and poncho comments had me crackin up, lol! Great channel :D
I remember as a kid just knowing, in all my 11 yr/o wisdom, that there would never be a beast wars snake transformer because of how insane the engineering would have to be, but goddamn I was wrong. This is a genius design, and I like the cowboy motif!
a rattlesnake would technically been a better for a "cowboy/desperado" character........needs more revolver to go with the bullwhip weapon........and i can't help but feel like he should have spurs on his feet
Lol this aired on my birthday. happy birthday to me! I've been looking for a decent serpentine figure since I was like 8 years old. This thing is brilliant!
I like halfway transformed "modes" as long as they're done right. Generations Whirl is a good example of extra mode done right. this is an example of an extra mode done wrong.
I always knew that this guy existed, but had no Idea the toy was this good. If I may offer one critique, it's that you don't always seem to spend enough time on the back of the robot, or in this case the beast mode as well, since you skipped over showing the design on the back of the cobra hood.
Hey TJ I wanted to ask if you were cool with it maybe do a review of the Hellscream I donated to ya a ways back ago? It's cool if you say no or not sure just thought I ask cause I don't see many reviews on the Cyber-Beasts.
Big Convoy was a great mold, big, of course, but very good. I have the Ultra Mammoth release from Funpub, and I love that thing to bits. Try to track down an older release though, a few parts of Ultra Mammoth are a bit loose, but nothing critical. But as for Cohrada himself, I noticed that the shell hood is being worn like a poncho, which helps that desperado look to him. A pretty good example of a shell former that knows how to wear it's shell, same for Big Convoy, which I will say ANY version of that mold is worth buying as long as you're ok with some loose parts with newer uses. Also, the Predacons of Neo had better "third" modes. The one who becomes an archaeoptrix(SP?) just requires a few button presses for dropping bombs and deploying guns from the wings. Like the Beast Wars Airazor, best bird of the Beast Wars series aside from her Transmetal form with how her wings hide flip out blades. One of the only two, actually. Back on track, the Triceratops does require a slight bit of transformation to robot mode for it's "Trap" mode, but it's molded in such a way to work quite well. And the Stegosaurus can mimic a plant. Not sure of the others, as my only experience with the Beast Wars Neo line is the US releases of the molds I mentioned and another one or two. I never got any experience with Magmatron sadly. Missed that Target release. But I would highly recommend you check out the molds I mentioned if you want "third" modes done right. Here's a question I have, since you've abandoned your original plans for Armada Optimus Prime, is he still going to be Plastic Addict? Or will you review him for Random Reviews? I admit, the Super Mode is disappointing, but the robot, vehicle, and the base mode of his trailer do serve their purposes, and it's not terrible as I have heard others say. There's been no reports of GPS on him either to my knowledge, despite having gold plastic in a few places, and what gold plastic there is, is pretty thick, so it's got a low chance of becoming a victim. Maybe after enough time, but the rest of the plastic will probably crumble at the same time the robot mode elbows do. So yeah, that's my question, and now for a request. It seems you think the Revenge of the Fallen Leader Class Megatron is not Plastic Addict worthy, but I still think it is, and if it's not, that it's a bad, disappointing at best, toy regardless. So could you review that one in the near future if you still have it or even have owned it at all and give your thoughts on it?
Japanese Beast Wars lines had different rules. In Beast Wars 2 it was animals vs machines. In Beast Wars Neo most of the villain cast were dinosaurs and the heroes were more peaceful/weird animals, a giraffe, a penguin, a horse, and yeah, a snake.
I actually like those in-between modes. Granted, though, I like coming up with in-between modes MYSELF, and using them as a selling point does seem a bit silly.
All my Beast Wars are packed up due to lack of space. Other then this guy, Transmetal Tarantulas, and Scourge. I really should pull Inferno out too. I played with him so much as a kid that his joints are way loose, and I should fix him. Beast Wars was a awesome series, wish they'd officially dub or sub the BWII and Neo lines. Or even make a new cartoon series. Not diggin' the new RiD series or Combiner Wars to much.
First off I hate snakes!!! However having said that this is an amazing figure that I'm definitely going to track down. Considering they had to turn a snake into a robot (a daunting task) they did a fantastic job!!!
Wontbehome The Goldenface That's a difficult one to do, the toy is so massive reviewing it the way I do these would be challenging. I'd have to devise a whole new setup just so I could demo the toy and make sure it's all visible and in frame.
Oh so thats why there is like no reviews of him, hes a good toy and since you just did the other giant planet with a work mode I was hoping for your take on his work mode as well and if you fell like its a point were they stopped and said it looked like something.
I wish the snake can transform all by itself but instead someone has has to get transform it so this is very random I don't like this thing because yeah yeah you have to transform it and that's and that's what I don't like it's supposed to transform all by itself it's supposed to transform by itself this is very crazy!
"It'ssssssssssss high noon."
piecheese1214 dang it I was just about to comment that
This guys is pretty cool. In my head canon, this is Quickstrike had he not been reprogrammed into a Predacon and mutated into a Fuzor.
There needs to be a custom GI JOE / Transformers Crossovers Serpentor made out of this figure....this I command!
Megatron's squirt gimmick represents the energy blasts his T-Rex head-hand would shoot in robot mode in the cartoon. Cohrada's squirt gimmick is based on the spitting cobra, whose main attack is to spit venom at an attacker's eyes to disorient them.
This was a nostalgia trip. My brother imported this back when were were kids. It's still one of his absolute favorite toys.
Necro Critic They really need to incorporate the BWN and BW2 characters into the ongoing comics. And with the cameos of the TigerHawk couple, that might not be that far off.
Van Oskuro You mean "Beast Wars Uprising", right?
A part of me wants to say it's a missed opportunity to make a cowboy snake Transformer and not make it a rattler... but like you said, it has to be a cobra to work as a toy, and the hood works really well for the poncho look.

I think his name is a pun, curo(Kuro) means black and ada(adder) for the snake. I'm pretty sure cobras are not adders but oh well
When you reference some other version of the same mold (I.E. "tele-mocha release") could you please put a picture on screen for a moment?
Holy moley... that thing is amazing o.O
I never thought I'd see a figure that looked like this or turned into this mode... so well done!

I gotta admit, they packed a _lot_ into this guy. Kinda glad you didn't go for any "WAAAAS A MAAAAN!" jokes. ;)
BWII and BWN were an appropriate dose of Japanese nonsense that we were missing after the Japanese G1 shows. I love them to death.
Channeling my inner Thew here, would say that they are "Japanonsensical?"
I really want this toy. Props to the guy that designed this and made it work.
I love getting reviews of magnificent transformers that I never knew existed! The opening of the mouth and poncho comments had me crackin up, lol! Great channel :D
8:39... Wait, wait, wait, wait... He's a Maximal? Aside Dinobot, reptiles rarely made into the good guys in the BW universe.
Glasses&Mouthplates
Japan also had insect, crab, and squid Maximals.
Both BW II and BW Neo had different themes for fractions than OG BW: II had animals Vs vechicles and Neo had modern animals vs prehistoric animals
I remember as a kid just knowing, in all my 11 yr/o wisdom, that there would never be a beast wars snake transformer because of how insane the engineering would have to be, but goddamn I was wrong. This is a genius design, and I like the cowboy motif!
Beast Machines' NightViper is the second snake-themed Maximal, so I kinda prefer NightViper on Cohrada
Loving the poncho.
Gun, Whip, Hat, Snake, its not a cowboy, its an Indiana Jones Transformers
Even Cohrada resembles the name Indiana
The desperado look is completed by his hood turning into a poncho.
Cool in a sort of silly way.
Sometimes, that's the best kinda cool for the job!
"you can whip it out and lash it", do you know how wrong that is out of context?
a rattlesnake would technically been a better for a "cowboy/desperado" character........needs more revolver to go with the bullwhip weapon........and i can't help but feel like he should have spurs on his feet
i could swear you already reviewed this one but he reminds me of beastwars fuzors quickstrike
Lol this aired on my birthday. happy birthday to me! I've been looking for a decent serpentine figure since I was like 8 years old. This thing is brilliant!
This is one of the most interesting figures you've reviewed yet.
yep gonna have to buy this one.... I LOVE his design!
I like halfway transformed "modes" as long as they're done right. Generations Whirl is a good example of extra mode done right. this is an example of an extra mode done wrong.
I bought it in the 2 pack with the dino thing. Also, his tail is a SNAEK! The snake toy of my childhood (in the 1980's)!
Probably one of the best, if not the beast toy in all of Beast Wars.
also at first i didnt see his eyes i thought the crest was some sort of cool vizor/sunglasses
Oh great. Now I got that weird ass Beast Wars Neo theme stuck in my head.
I have been lookin for this toy forever
I always knew that this guy existed, but had no Idea the toy was this good.
If I may offer one critique, it's that you don't always seem to spend enough time on the back of the robot, or in this case the beast mode as well, since you skipped over showing the design on the back of the cobra hood.
I love that smirk
You really should renegotiate that contract as far as covering those in between modes
3:51 gets me every time.
Why not put an Armada Sideswipe to good use and use it for target practice?
I got mine in the mail today!!🤩🥳
Hey TJ I wanted to ask if you were cool with it maybe do a review of the Hellscream I donated to ya a ways back ago?
It's cool if you say no or not sure just thought I ask cause I don't see many reviews on the Cyber-Beasts.
The eye make it look more funny when he did that

That is an all around great looking toy.
Can you please do a random review for bw neo magmatron if you have it?
You say you want long rack now, but when it comes time for base mode, I predict tears.
o.O He's a maximal? I thought reptiles were predacons!
Japanese Beast Wars lines had different rules. In Beast Wars 2 it was animals vs machines. In Beast Wars Neo most of the villain cast were dinosaurs and the heroes were more peaceful/weird animals, a giraffe, a penguin, a horse, and yeah, a snake.
outside of that gimpy claw, japanese insanity cobra maximal with no name seem all kinds of awesome.
Really like this robot! Cowboy robots are pretty sweet.
So does this count as a Potus Manus victim? :P
TaurusOxford Not really; Potus Manus is for hands that literally come out of the beast mode's rear like on Cybertron Backstop, not so much tail arms.
Why do I think that he looks like a samurai in robot mode?
Cobra mode= derp face = hilarity
Is there a snail transformer?
***** that's a bummer
Nemesis Prime Dead End is about the closest you're going to get to a snail Transformer in toy form. tfwiki.net/wiki/Dead_End_(BWN)
which is sad
My request is for you to review your best female Transformer from any line!
Snake? SNAKE? SNNNNAAAAAAAAAKKKE?!?
I actually like those in-between modes. Granted, though, I like coming up with in-between modes MYSELF, and using them as a selling point does seem a bit silly.
I like his big goofy grin
I love that figure! He should show up in IDW
Do you own energon slugslinger
How do you make Cohrada mad?...you hiss him off!!
How come this character was not on the show? A Snake Predacon would have been awesome
Am I the only one who wishes we not only got this toy, but got a repaint of it as a new, non-Fuzor Quickstrike?
Please review Magmatron
Doesn't the snake tail arm count as potus manus?
0:38 *cough cough* Magmantron and Big Convoy. *cough cough*
Starninger hat?
Is he a Maximus or Predicon?
I know I'm repeating myself but MasterPiece MP-24 Star Saber
Please?
Cool. He’s unique
Nice metal gear reference.
and then there is the telemocha version which is less cartoon accurate but more, premium/realistic XD
All my Beast Wars are packed up due to lack of space. Other then this guy, Transmetal Tarantulas, and Scourge. I really should pull Inferno out too. Is he a good or bad guy?
I hope beast wars 2 or neo get an offical sub or dub
HOL HORSE!?
First off I hate snakes!!! However having said that this is an amazing figure that I'm definitely going to track down. Considering they had to turn a snake into a robot (a daunting task) they did a fantastic job!!!
Please review aoe strafe
NOTHING beats Cybertron Shortround's toilet mode!
ok plz do predaking
You just perfectly described why I hate gerwalk modes.
I just call him NIGHT VIPER
Cohrada is an Italian name he's supposed to be Italian Japanese
So he's a Spaghetti Western transformer?
Cybertrob metroplex please
Wontbehome The Goldenface That's a difficult one to do, the toy is so massive reviewing it the way I do these would be challenging. I'd have to devise a whole new setup just so I could demo the toy and make sure it's all visible and in frame.

Never mind
Man that intro must really piss off people with ocd...

Is this guy good or evil.
Kyle Cocciante
Maximal. Surprised?
I wish the snake can transform all by itself but instead someone has has to get transform it so this is very random I don't like this thing because yeah yeah you have to transform it and that's and that's what I don't like it's supposed to transform all by itself it's supposed to transform by itself this is very crazy!

ahhhhhhhhhh potus manus
