Lived right near them. Went there once to see what the hype was about. Literally saw exactly this behavior. Not staged. No cameras. Just trashy people being terrible.
Genuinely STILL can’t believe that she actually acted like this and especially to Gordon on national tv. That’s how you know she’s really like that, she didn’t even care about her behavior on TV.
This is one of those reality tv episodes that are so painfully obviously scripted...until you look at the aftermath and realize no, they really are that insane.
I tend to laugh when I watch reality TV shows with people and they always think it is scripted and that people would never act like that in real life. I have worked in hospitality industry for four years now. The behavior people are capable of is out of this world. Amys kind of crazy is nothing new to me.
As an owner of a bakery myself all I'm going to say is that no matter how perfect you try to make things you cannot please everyone. A bad review is inevitable deserving or not. What I tell my workers is "Bad days are going to happen in life. Bad averages are what we should strive to avoid. Take a bad day and learn from it"
That why they are suit for each other, if I become their neighbor, I think I will moved out as soon as possible, if they can do that to their staff/ customers like that ,imaging if you becomes their neighbor
Yeah, I thought it was sus af that only her baked goods weren’t prepackaged garbage. Baked goods are some of the most time consuming & difficult things to make
I remember that. I saw a video where youtuber talked about Amy's posts about her cakes. In a comment section of one of those posts was a comment of a cake bakery that originally made all those cakes, thanking Amy for a good review (probably sarcastically because Amy was talking about those cakes like she was the one who made them.).
@@julkap4190 Thank you, I've been wondering for so long! I remember Ramsey liking the cakes. Making really good pastries seems far more difficult then making a half decent pizza, I always thought it was odd that they could fail at pizza with such background for such a long time.
@@zyqx4365 speaking from personal experience I can say that you aren’t wrong. Especially when comparing cake batter to pizza dough. Cakes can be incredibly unforgiving depending on the recipe
I've worked in bakeries, and I noticed ABC didn't have any real baking equipment in the kitchen, nothing big enough to make all of the items she claimed she made. No proof boxes, mixers, no big ovens, nothing.
I worked in a kitchen for 10 years. "The customer is always right," is just a nice way of saying, "fix your problems NOW." Customers rarely complain. Most of the time, they just don't come back. So a customer complaining and telling you where you are wrong is actually a rare boost! Take it, say thank you, and keep improving. In a restaurant, you are one crappy omelet away from destruction. Every dish counts. Getting feedback is crucial and so few places get it. Most people simply don't come back.
I did that this morning for overcooked food I got last night. Brought my receipt, asked politely for a manager, sat at the empty table away from other customers, explained what exactly was wrong with the food, and that someone definitely needed to teach whomever cooked that how to cook it, it was a terrible burnt sandwich... And that I recommended whomever makes them beautifully on the morning shift teach them. ❤
I don't complain at restaurants and especially not asked for replacement food. I just do not go back. It's not just restaurants but also other businesses, online or physical store. I try once, if I'm not satisfied then never again.
I work at a hotel. Same thing for us. If we get negative feedback, it might be from the only person willing to say something everyone else was thinking. Those thoughts might be why they don’t return. It gives light to areas that we’d improvement. Just one bad experience, dish, room quality can outweigh 100 positive ones.
I felt bad for Katie but then I realized, this happened years ago. By now, she probably has a new job, which has to be better than working for these horrible nutcases by default, and she'll likely never have to see either of them again. In fact I just looked her up on Instagram and it looks like she's doing great. She's traveling the world and having the time of her life while Amy and Sammy are still a meme. I love that for her.
im early in the video so idk if kiana mentioned it, and im sorry if she did, but katie hosted a reddit AMA regarding her time on the show/working at the restaurant and she said that amy had fucked up the order like 2 times before she asked the question. like that mustve hurt amy's ego BAD 🤷🏻♀️ but i mean thats what you get when you start a restaurant and dont know what you're doing edit: 3 or 4 times!!!!!!!!! what!!!!!!!
@@someidiot420 the problem is not even that, there are a lot of people that open a business "not knowing what they're doing" but are willing to learn. Amy thinks she knows everything and that everybody else is a enemy coming to get her. Borderline paranoid
My mom is exactly like her (probably worse, tbh) but she acts like an absolute saint around everyone else. I was watching random episodes from Gordon’s shows & I did not expect this one to be so bad. All the previous episodes I had watched were about bad cooks who needed help. It genuinely triggers my fight or flight because of how similar she is to my mom. I was so glad to see Gordon keep calm though. The only way to deal with these people is to ignore them. Videos about Amy are actually validating. I was never allowed to show any type of emotion, even the smallest blink or breath would send my mom into a frenzy. Even though I was never allowed to say anything, I’m glad people see the problem with people who act like this and call it out 🙏.
I’m really sorry you had to go through that and I wish you healing. ❤ my mom was abusive too, I know how you feel, it hurts when your mom is supposed to be the one person in the world who is supposed to show you unconditional love and affection and instead you get hatred and abuse, all the while watching other people’s moms be loving and non-abusive 😢
The worst part is every person around you telling you what an amazing person they are or how they "never see it" and then behind closed doors their behavior is disgusting.
Amy lost her mind to such a degree that Gordon Ramsey, the man known for his shouting rages, had to be the level head in the episode. That's impressive in a scary sort of way.
The Shouting may be for TV theatrics, but GR really helps people who are in a bind. The walking away after saying "do the right thing by walking away";it was full of emotion,it was a loss of hope in GR for ABC,and just not wanting to deal with them
I learned that if Gordon is shouting at you, it’s because he’s trying to get you to improve so you can be better. If he’s talking to you in level headed yet stern tone, then he’s genuinely pissed with you.
Gordon Ramsey's tone of response is actually well thought out. Many times you need that angry drive and the pushing force for you to suceed. And he is there fore that. But his shift here to level head, or his tone change he adopts on shows such as MasterChef Jr. show he knows how to change his delivery to suit the need of who he is trying to push.
@@sanchitanarzary no but you have to understand who trained Ramsay the people who trained him are even worse with their scream and shots hence why he himself has adopted that voice.
@@sanchitanarzary yep, watching him in a lot of different media, if you give your 100% and are genuinely trying to learn and improve, there’s no limit to how much he’ll help you. What he doesn’t tolerate is lack of efforts and laziness.
The way she treated that poor girl is what really made me angry tho. She fires her. Then when the girl walks away amy feels like she’s losing control so she goes “where are you going?! Get back here! You don’t work here anymore!” And as she cries amy goes “why are you doing this?!” All of that was cuz she didn’t get the feeling of control she wanted from firing her. Her employee took some of that control away by saying nothing and just leaving. So she felt she needed to call her back to tell her AGAIN she was fired 🤦🏻♂️
It's like when Tyra went off on that girl after she kicked her off the show and the girl didn't break down crying and then Tyra started yelling and going off on her for not wanting it enough just trying to get a reaction
The way her husband comforted the crying teen, it makes me believe he's not as horrible of a person but is usually bossed around and needs to be aggressive to please his wife. Horrible.
amy is just so insecure and afraid of rejection that she acts rly aggressively whenever she THINKS she’s been slighted, even if the person in question had no malice intentions (ex: Katie)
@@tonybalony1811 Katie had another job that immediately gave her more hours. She went to college and so likely got a good career going. She got justice because she is doing better than Amy.
she's the type who grew up using her temper to get her way. Normally people mature and outgrow that once they develop self awareness and reflection but there she is
Gordon's filming team, when asked if the episode was edited/scripted, replied that what actually happened at ABC was significantly worse than what they aired, but they didn't want to air the really crazy stuff because everyone would think it's fake lol.
I imagine they decided to take part in the show because Amy literally expected Gordon Ramsay to fall on his knees from amazement when he tries her food. She delusioned herself into thinking she has a god given talent and wanted to have the gotcha moment on TV when it turns out she's better than literal Gordon Ramsay. I think that's why her meltdown was this strong, she didn't dream of the praise, it was expected, she decided she deserves it, and when the criticism came she refused to come back to earth
In the episode she confirms that’s exactly what she wanted. Amy went on her spiel about yelpers and explicitly told Gordon that they wanted him to come and validate how amazing the food was to shut up all the haters. Kiana kind of missed that with respect to Amy’s response to Gordon’s opinions - Amy did not invite him for his criticism and chefly wisdom, so she was never prepared to take any. She was pretty honest that she wanted validation and to weaponize that validation on national television as the ultimate gotcha. Such a wild ride, I love this episode
The satisfaction that she had on her face when Gordon praised the cleanliness of her kitchen and tasted one of the cakes didn't last long, did it? Only to then find out that she didn't even make the cakes herself.

@@evexx1540 Vulnerable narcissism isn't a diagnosis and it's not a mental illness. It's a personality trait, which she clearly demonstrates in this clip and others.
Amy had a lovely array of cakes on display, which she said she baked herself. Gordon ate one and complimented her. However, at a later date, it was discovered that she bought the cakes ready made from another source!
And then she had the gal to deflect blame again by claiming ‘America is all about reselling’ Last time I checked you still have to pay royalties to the original manufacturer and credit them.
Her husband was some sort of international criminal and he was terrified of his wife. Ramsay needed two episodes to cover ABC. Too much ego for just one.

She strikes me as someone who never matured past the age of 14 - GR was speaking to her so calmly and with such patience and she was working herself up into a melodramatic tantrum. She's never learned to self regulate her behaviour!
I have watched a lot of breakdowns about this episode and this is the first time I'm hearing about the sexual harassment claims against G.R. That's just terrible. I didn't think these owners could get any more repulsive. I was wrong.
This claim is especially weird as when they were filming in the restaurants the would have automatic cameras filming everything in every corner of the place, including audio.
They didn't invite Gordon Ramsay for criticism. They invited him to be confirmed and publicly upheld as the god and goddess they imagined themselves to be.
I think it's obvious that Sammi knew his wife was crap. But she was his prize wife (from his POV anyway) and the only reason he was blowing his money down the crapper on her ill-conceived restaurant in the first place.
I agree with you. This, however, proves them even MORE delusional as anyone familiar with Gordon Ramsay must know he pulls no punches. Indeed, if the producers who scouted the restaurant had found it perfect Gordon would never have gone there
I used to live not far from Amy's Baking Company, and one day I stopped in for lunch. The food really wasn't that great. Amy and her husband were quietly busy, and the waiter only had a couple of customers. What really stood out, though was the tension, the dirty looks, and the waiter looked miserable. I kept wondering what I'd done wrong. Not a particularly fun experience so I never went back. Imagine my surprise a few years down the road to see Gordon Ramsey there. It wasn't me afterall. Those two are out of their minds.
I remember once I saw a baking co test and the one contestant kept cheating and sabotaging others. Her bakery wound up closing because viewers were upset that she didn’t play fair so they stopped buying her food.
The other reason she’s so crazy is cuz she’s clearly never worked a real job before. Up to this point she’s just been a Karen “trophy wife” and then throws herself into something like a restaurant? Restaurants are high stress environments and you better learn to roll with the punches.
Yup. This. My neighbour growing up is now a chef. She’s really good. But she couldn’t work in someone’s restaurant it’s way too high stress. And she knows what she’s doing. Amy is clueless
Amy said that she met Sami in Vegas when he was a playboy and had several girls. Sami is documented to have been a criminal in organized crime. A "You pay or I break your legs" guy. Rumors at the time (don't know how true) are that Amy was actually a call girl among several call girls he used. She got him to get rid of the others, and marry her. With the millions he spent on buying and keeping the restaurant running, It would have been cheaper to have kept several call girls than marry that one.
@@Logan_Baron There's also some speculation that the company itself was actually a front to launder Sami's dirty money on top of appeasing his delusional wife. There's actually an article on pastebin the explains more in detail.Basically, he starts by building equity on the property paid for with dirty money, takes the tips so he keep those off the books, Uses the POS system himself so he can over declare the amount of customers coming in, and make up checks and bills to make the books look legit.
"We stood up to Gordon Ramsay and we will stand up to the world". Ugh that is so frustrating, there is literally NO winning with these people. Ramsay was 100% correct and she still believes she defeated him. What a fruit loop.
One thing that stood out to me when I watched that episode that wasn't mentioned in the video was how Samy was taking the tips of the waitresses purely on the grounds that they get paid hourly. When Ramsay mentioned this fact to a table that had just left a generous tip for their waitress, the people there were not amused. And when Ramsay himself was eating and was made aware of the owner taking tips, I think he made it a point to only pay the base price, and gave his tip to the waitress directly. Also, speaking of ego, another thing that came to mind while typing this comment was a memory of how Samy didn't let anyone else process orders and payments. His excuse was that the staff needed training with the system, but Ramsay had spoken to at least one waitress who had prior experience working at restaurants and thus knew how to work with said system. As a result, orders were painfully slow to process (memory is a little fuzzy on this, but I think I remember something about hour-long wait times).
@@shadenox8164 Possibly, but I think that even those kitchen issues can still be traced back to Amy - specifically, it mentioned at the beginning of the episode that she was only working on one ticket at the time... and on top of that I think there was only one thing she _wasn't_ insistent on making herself, and that was the salads. Although, that being said, Samy definitely contributed to the wait times with his refusal to let anyone else work with the restaurant system. And additionally, I think there was a scene where a waitress reminded Samy of an order she was given, only to find out it wasn't in the system... after which she immediately fished her order note out of the waste paper bin once he was busy. Even if Samy binning the order was an accident due to overwork, he wouldn't have had the problem if he let the staff work with the system and didn't insist on doing everything related to that himself. I can't help but imagine it must have been a shock for the table that was waiting a long time for their food only to find out that the owner didn't even input their order into the system.
I think he also used it as a reason to not give the servers their tips. He said he would give them the tips when they started earning them, and then complained about having to do everything himself. Well sir the reason you're doing it all yourself is because you refuse to let the servers put in orders! Ridiculous.
I call BS on Sammy’s excuse. My job gets hourly pay and I still get tip money. Customers give employees tips as gratitude for the service. By stealing them he’s stealing money and lying to customers about where their money is actually going.
As an older teen, I worked in a restaurant owned by an angry Italian family that was always yelling at each other and every one else. This video actually gave me a slight revulsion response lol. Don’t miss the days of a working environment where I had to walk on eggshells around ticking time bombs who even took politeness as a slight when they were in a mood. It was by far my most unpleasant working experience.
As an Italian, I'm sorry you had to go through that. I've known people like that. We're not all like that. My family owned a business. We didn't make a lot of money, and when things were tough, my dad worried about the employees losing their jobs if things didn't get better. He worked really hard and died at age 49. I'm sure all the stress played a part. He never yelled and would lend people money, even knowing they probably couldn't afford to pay it back.
What always kills me about this episode is that Gordon really liked her desserts. The solution is so obvious (at least from my perspective). Just transition to a dessert only restaurant. No, their egos just couldn’t take that their pizzas and raviolis and the rest of their savory food just wasn’t very good
yeeeah she lied about making the desserts. It was revealed after the episode aired that she bought them from an actual reputable bakery. She then explained that she had to "order and unbox them and display them" and that in her mind, that meant she "made" them.
My wife's takeaway business got a bad review once. The customer liked the food, but it wasn't the food he thought he had ordered, due to a mixup between our menu and the previous owner's menu. He also got the impression that he wasn't taken seriously when he complained. We could have gotten defensive about it, blamed the customer and so on, but that would have been incredibly stupid. Instead we apologized, took steps to remove the old website and menu to avoid future confusion, and gave him his next meal home delivered free of charge. In this kind of business your reputation is everything.

I've had one friend who was exactly like Amy. They even look like each, physically! This friend was also a freshly diagnosed narcissist, and was getting evaluated for schizo type. They were having a manic/psychotic breakdown, and would scream and even attack their own family for trying to help them. The thing that made me leave was when they were convinced i was plotting, along with other of their friends, to attack them. I was just talking with them, and was discussing how concerned i was for that person. People like Amy and my ex-friend will not accept reality, never. They are in their own world, with their own illusions, and the only thing we can do is try to make them go to therapy, Wich narcissists and psychotics will absolutely refuse. I hope she never, ever, open another restaurant or any other business, again.
Please. She's even worst than the average Karen. Aside, from the fact that her and her husband are just total scammers, using the restaurant to launder money, Amy's a narcissist, a sociopath, probably a psychopath, who's disturbed, sexist, and an insult to the elderly.
The concept of living “unconsciously” is one I’ve desperately needed a word to describe for ages. I know people I’ve noticed this from, but never had a word for it. Living controlled by emotions, by letting your emotions convince your reason of what’s reasonable. Not a single grain of awareness of their emotions, and therefor living in a flow of input-trigger-reaction without any reason coming into it. The reasoning comes afterwards when they tell themselves “what I did was reasonable, because … and I’m always, ALWAYS, a completely reasonable person. Those other people are idiots who are actively trying to hurt me.”
There's a spa owner who does this too, she "bans" literally anyone who makes a comment that the ppl (her) at the front desk were rude. She doesn't understand her free scheduling software and so people show up with their prebooked appt only to find that 3 other ppl are booked for the same slot. Then she'll yell at all of them calling them liars. And if a massage therapist calls in sick, which they do often when managers don't let them take time off without replacement, then she will call the client, the client most likely has already been rescheduled multiple times, so she fights with everyone every day and the yelp reviews are hilarious
I had the pleasure of knowing one unfortunately. He was convinced he was always right and that the whole world was out to get him. My brother in law was in the area and had seen the episode so he drove by…they saw him looking in the window and basically strong armed him into coming in and wouldn’t let him leave 🤣he said it was disgusting
These kinds of personalities are pretty common among criminals. Amy has a history of using stolen social security numbers to commit bank fraud. Samy is barred from entering France and Germany and was most likely deported due to his criminal history of drug and extortion charges. When he gets pissed in the episode he even drops character and tells Gordon Ramsay, "I'm a gangster". All of which is probably why he was able to drop $1mil to start this restaurant. Which is sad... people work hard in this industry their entire lives and never even get close to the chance of their dreams of owning their own restaurant, meanwhile these two buy it overnight with ill-gotten money and run it like a dumpster fire
This reminds me of movie Casino and character played by Joe Pesci. He decide at some moment to start some legitimate business and it is restaurant run by his brother who spit into sandwiches. I bet they would make pals with Amy and Sam with their attitude.
The fact that she openly admits that she made a customer’s pizza too spicy in order to “hurt him.” Wouldn’t that be considered a charge for second degree aggravated assault?
You might be conflating Sammy the Bull, with this guy. Sammy the Bull owned a different restaurant in Scottsdale AZ, called Sal's. I worked next door to it. It's still open. I don't think Sammy owns it anymore, if he is even still alive.

It happens from either extreme childhood abuse or the other way around where they are the golden child. As a result of my mother, I have BPD (currently in DBT therapy for a year now). My therapist and all other therapists in the past say the NPD breeds borderline, because the narc is so toxic, it creates a personality disorder for the child, hence why I have BPD> narcs can't be cured. They'll be that way forever, even if they go to therapy (which is rare) because they'll never believe THEY are the problem and continue with their delusions forever.
@@hotpinkkt true but they can improve. I have STPD & my does of narcissistic traits. My mother will always be the way she is, but has improved some over the years. However, it’s not much because she is not consistent with her mental health treatments
unless you're a child Gordon is the last person who would validate your feelings and to say what you're doing is good there will always be criticism and not to mention Gordon is so hard to please and impress with your cooking when you're an adult it takes amazing expert cook to impress Gordon so Amy wanting Gordon to review and expect Gordon to be impress is just stupid of her that's so egotistic and main character behavior of her
I worked for a restaurant like this, they would check TripAdvisor everyday and start literal fights with people who left bad reviews and those bad reviews were more than deserved. Just because you own the place doesn't mean you don't have to demonstrate professionalism and customer service!
I just watched this episode, I had to see it to believe it lol. Still can't believe how they treated the customer for not paying for a pizza they never got.
"Paying a pizza they never got"? Oh hell no. That was a troll, and pretended it like "you enter our restaurant, you have to buy our food that doesn't even there". If that's happen, i'm calling the police ASAP.
Amy and her husband's thought is just this "if the world doesn't evolve around me, then the whole world is against me." She's literally the Karen of all Karens and I would've paid credit card money to send a Karen customer to her restaurant.
@@yourneighborhooddeadpool488 That is nonsense. A lot of Karen definitely has gone to ABC, and the universe ... wait with what we have now, you are the one who got it right. The universe is imploding now.
I’m surprised the video isn’t longer! There is so much damage to unravel when it comes to Amy. That episode, hands down, was absolutely epic! I couldn’t believe people could act like that in public! Years ago, almost our entire psychology class (informally) discussed & tried to analyze her. Her behavior was abominable. The things they said to customers & their employees was reprehensible (The fact they thought it was justified to steal the server’s tips still astounds me). Funny side note though, just to highlight how multifaceted people are, Ramsey did say it was one of the most clean & well organized kitchens he’s ever seen! So she’s a highly manic clean-freak, but still completely insane!
The main problem of restaurants like these who get bad reviews and gradually fail, usually have chefs who forget to taste the very own food they make. After working a little for an year or two, their egoistic ideals make them forget what they are doing is whether correct or not. Restaurants here in India barely have any food returned from customers. The people value food so much that they hesitate even to drop one grain of rice on to the floor. They may cut cost on cleanliness but if food products become low grade, that restaurant doesn't make profit and soon loses customer and shutdown.
I believe this is the almost perfect example when to completely walk away from someone and never look back. These people deserve to fail, just like a hard working, honest and humble person deserves to be rewarded, these type of narcissists get exactly what's coming to them and I feel absolutely no pitty for them whatsoever.
When Gordon walks out on you, you know your business is DONE. I actually thought this whole thing was for publicity or whatever but no one could ever pretend to be that rude and distasteful and just horrid. Eurgh.
Went to ABC with my parents when it was still open before I ever saw the episode. The food was SO SLOW and the flavor combinations seemed way too ambitious. We complained several times to Sammy but he was actually really nice, which surprises me now that I know what he was like on the episode.
Amy's one of those Karens who can't handle being contradicted. She's convinced she's always right, like countless women who rely on being hostile and rude when she doesn't get her way, so people just let her get away with it, rather than trying to declaw a harpy. I was impressed at first with how tidy her kitchen was, (clearly cleaned ahead of time, regardless of being told not to) but how chaotic her emotional stability was.
Ignoring Amy and her lunacy for a second, this is easily the best episode of Kitchen Nightmares US. It didn't overdo the editing like the other episodes, it mostly felt personal and connected. It honestly felt like a UK episode and wish they made more episodes like this.
I wish they followed the UK model and didn't over produce and over dramatize the whole show. Like let people just be people, like if they're combative like Amy or any of the other delusional chefs/owners, then obviously just show it raw, don't edit it to make it more dramatic ffs.
@@BrightWulph The thing is thought, we do know the American owners were worse for being indignant and yelling because you couldn't cut the footage in a way to make the UK owners look as bad as the US owners, they just weren't. You can't splice in footage you don't have.
Well I got into watching this video because I’m all about Amy’s baking Company being embarrassed, but I’m actually learning a few things about myself so I’m appreciating this on a different level
Agreed! Amy’s so incredibly toxic. Both she and her husband clearly need therapy, but Amy in particular has obvious mental health/personality issues that she has no hope of ever addressing on her own. Her complete lack of self-awareness and giant victim complex don’t give me high hopes for her though. I can sympathize with Amy, in the sense that I think it must be very difficult to be in a constant state of emotional turmoil, and I do genuinely believe she’s unable to see herself from other’s perspectives, but she’s absolutely insufferable! She’s immature, abusive, and completely self-centred. I can’t imagine she has any friends because being around her for any length of time would be harrowing! People like Amy drag down everyone around them, and even watching someone like that on TV is genuinely awful, let alone having to interact with her in real life.
Oh gosh same. I rewatch KN episodes US and UK all the time, but I avoid this episode like the plague💀honestly joe from Mill Street Bistro looks tamer than these two-
Ego makes you the victim every time. It's really hard to get out of the cycle of being 'unconscious'. I love your analysis on this. I notice she has a really over active mentalis muscle, always holding her chin tight around her teeth. It's a sure sign of anxiety and disordered breathing - it's integrated into the muscles. She would definitely benefit from meditation, diaphragmatic breathing and internal reflection. I think I say that without sarcasm. Because wow. She is just a whirlwind of emotions. It's great to see because I am trying so hard to not be this way!
I think that Amy might have a overactive fight or flight response with all that stress, the ego is absolutely the problem and maybe we can tell that she might be in the flight instinct with how often she doesn’t take criticism, because when you begin criticizing, her first instinct is to flee in a sense, when she can’t, she fights
A lot of these restaurants seem to call Gordon Ramsey there not to help but as a way to self validate that they are not in the wrong it must be some other reason (staff, customers,ect.).
Jesus Christ I had forgotten how crazy those two were. Not only did I feel sorry for poor Katie (I hear she's doing much better now). I also felt bad for Gordon having to deal with those nutcases. He tried his best to help them, but there was no helping lunatics that refused to learn from their mistakes.
I have been dying to mention this but I work at a bakery in AZ and I've seen Amy and Sam come in a few times. They order a bunch of breads/pastries and it feels so weird having to ring them up. They just come in, then leave as fast as they can
It's so absolutely fascinating how they (or amy at least,) still live in AZ. I attended ACI which is literally on the same road as ABC, and it drives me absolutely nuts that gordon ramsay never came back to AZ.
8:52 This was actually very helpful, bc I (and maybe other ppl) dont think of myself as having ego a issues, bc I don't in the traditional sense (i.e. when I think of a big ego as someone thinking they're "all that"- I often forget Ego is literally the self.) I notice I Do get angry easily, bc I internalize things/insert my own personal identity into other ppls general statements/view the things I care about or do as extensions of myself, as you mentioned. I enjoy being introspective so any new into that helps me see myself from a different angle/in another light is always much appreciated, and I'll def e circling back to this with myself later on!!🙂
I regret so much that they closed before I lived close enough to go. 😂 They could've made a killing as a theme restaurant where they roast the customers, tell them off, and fight with each other if they just took his advice about the food and used their publicity on the show.
You’re absolutely right about that. There are a number of successful themed restaurants where the wait staff are expected to be obnoxious and insulting to customers. (Dicks Last Resort is one) Amy and Samy could have made a killing with their toxicity levels.👍
This was a great, insightful and articulate way of describing Amy and Samy. Thank you for using Eckhart Tolle’s description of the ego overtaking her conscious-self. Loved it!
I remember giving criticism on her facebook page, one day i check and my account was banned. She really has a big ego that she needs to lose, you won't make it in the cooking/baking industry if all you ever want to hear is positive things, sometimes the truth hurts and thats fine.

The icing on the cake is that nothing she was priding herself on was real. She ordered everything in, baked goods included.

I've worked in bakeries, and I noticed ABC didn't have any real baking equipment in the kitchen, nothing big enough to make all of the items she claimed she made.
No proof boxes, mixers, no big ovens, nothing.
I worked in a kitchen for 10 years. "The customer is always right," is just a nice way of saying, "fix your problems NOW."
Customers rarely complain.
customers complain often actually lol
@@TheAllstargamer they do on social media, not on the actual restaurant after they ate their food

You don’t work here anymore!” And as she cries amy goes “why are you doing this?!” All of that was cuz she didn’t get the feeling of control she wanted from firing her.

I agree with you. This, however, proves them even MORE delusional as anyone familiar with Gordon Ramsay must know he pulls no punches. Indeed, if the producers who scouted the restaurant had found it perfect Gordon would never have gone there
@@TheKennethECarper Yep, he was her sugar daddy and she was his trophy wife.
Yeah that's probably what they thought
I agree. In their deluded minds they thought The exposure was going to be awesome for the resto and might even lead to their own reality show.
No room for ego in the kitchen. If people don’t like your food, try to fix it or you’ll start bleeding customers.
She definitely is one can short of a six pack...........
Never mind I just got to the part saying they closed.
And the world responded by putting her out of business.
@@Matt-xv2cp when your food and attitude is so bad a country deported you🧐😂
Not only that l, but she is convinced that she is the victim when really it was her customers and their business that suffered
I doubt those hour long weight times were anything but kitchen issues though.
Ridiculous.
@@nicolecarlson7656 Yea, like, what's the fucking point of hiring staff if you're not going to let the staff do the fucking job
Let me guess they were never wrong about anything ever.
Ugh same, except the family was Lithuanian. Working for a family sucks when you're not part of the family and can't say anything about it.
He never yelled and would lend people money, even knowing they probably couldn't afford to pay it back.
i’ve NEVER met a good or nice italian. they’re so arrogant it’s sickening
What always kills me about this episode is that Gordon really liked her desserts. The solution is so obvious (at least from my perspective). Just transition to a dessert only restaurant. No, their egos just couldn’t take that their pizzas and raviolis and the rest of their savory food just wasn’t very good
That was a lie (which Gordon fell for). She didn't actually make those desserts, she just bought them.
That’s because she knew she didn’t make them.
yeeeah she lied about making the desserts. It was revealed after the episode aired that she bought them from an actual reputable bakery. She then explained that she had to "order and unbox them and display them" and that in her mind, that meant she "made" them.
You can't get a good pizza in less than 3 minutes after placing your order
She never displayed the ability to bake those desserts, it took forever to prepare mundane dishes.

I’m actually rather concerned about her. Many women in my family are like her because they were treated like they couldn’t do anything right growing up.
Gordon Ramsay showed so much maturity dealing with these toddlers 👏👏👏
Eurgh.

Amy's one of those Karens who can't handle being contradicted. She's convinced she's always right, like countless women who rely on being hostile and rude when she doesn't get her way, so people just let her get away with it, rather than trying to declaw a harpy.
A lot of these restaurants seem to call Gordon Ramsey there not to help but as a way to self validate that they are not in the wrong it must be some other reason (staff, customers,ect.).
as soon as i saw the first clip i instantly remembered who she was and it all came back to me 💀
also og gang i thought amy had got the video removed and i was gonna sob
The raven Baxter flashback I had 😭
@@pixxieniicky Had to re-upload due to low video quality oops 😅
I could never forgot about her 😅
ikj5j
I would hate to be Amy, it must be so genuinely exhausting and stressful to think the whole world is constantly out to get you
As my grandma would say at least they married each other and didn't destroy two homes...
I enjoy being introspective so any new into that helps me see myself from a different angle/in another light is always much appreciated, and I'll def e circling back to this with myself later on!!🙂
If Amy just asked the customers what they didn’t like and took those comments into consideration and made changes her business would flourish.
You won't make it in ANY industry if all you ever want to hear are positive things. I honestly can't think of a line of work where that isn't true.
