I've had a Fenix 6X Sapphire for two years and it has been great and still looks like new with no scratches or marks whatsoever. However, I fancy a change and so have the Falcon coming as a Christmas present and I'm really looking forward to it 😁. Great video.
Dear David, Good morning and thanks for the comment. I hope you enjoy your Christmas present and the Falcon assists you in getting off the couch, and tracks your indoor/outdoor adventures - Happy Holidays! Sincerely, Pietro A.K.A. The Man with Two Watches Cuneo13
Love watching your reviews, so much detail. Just a note on nits, 1000 nits is half the nits of 2000 nits. It's not half the brightness. 2000 nits is maybe 20-30% brighter than 1000 nits for example. Just something I see a lot of reviewers do, and if you watch Apple's presentation on the Ultra, you will notice they never say 2X brighter than the AW8. They just imply it using Nits and let us as consumers make the assumption that it is 2X brighter. Anyway I'll get back toy watching your awesome video because the Falcon is an interesting new watch to compare to a Fenix. Well done.
Thank you Daniel. I was going read up more on the nits of brightness values before shooting my next video, so thank you for your nice details. I don't know if Garmin gives their watches a "nits" brightness value - I will do further research. As for "Fenix vs. Falcon Day Four" the video footage is done and all going well with my day I should get it edited and released before midnight tonight.
@@TheManWithTwoWatches can’t wait to see the further review. I believe the Epix is 1000 nits. But when it comes to lighting up the night nothing matches the convenience of the flashlight on the fenix 7xSS
I actually like the band it came with, but I have two others I wear more often. I got an orange silicon strap for the Fenix 6X for my birthday later year and it fits the Fenix 7X so, I still use that one quite often and it has shown up in several videos. My newest one is the Hemsut Velcro strap and that one is more comfortable than the silicon versions. I still switch them around now and again, but most wear the orange, Velcro Hemsut strap with my Fenix. Here's a link to their website: www.hemsutwatchbands.com/?wpam_id=17
Good review, Peter. I’m still a fan of the Fenix 7x over the Falcon, although I like the look of the Falcon. Either way, I’m going to cool it from dreaming and be happy with my OG Instinct solar.
BTW have you ever gotten 20 days battery life from the Fenix7? I'm sure that I'm charging this watch every 7 days and I'm not doing anything extraordinary with it outside of a typical users use.
I was able to get 34 days of battery life off the Garmin Fenix 7X sapphire solar. However, four of those days required heavy sunlight and hours, I mean, hours of sunlight to juice up the battery via solar panels. Typically, I get a good 15 to 20 days of battery life off a single charge with little sunlight/solar charging.

BBEWARE: I've been having the GTR 3 PRO since March 22. A couple of months later I noticed that there was a serious inaccuracy in the HR readings. I'm a cyclist and I do about 70 km of cycling every week. I noticed that the watch was sometimes unable to track my HR when riding uphill. My HR reading could be round 130bpm just prior to the climb and at the top of the uphill I could be getting a reading of as low as 54bpm. I don't get that low of a reading not even while sleeping, let alone after having ridden an uphill. Amazfit support was unable to offer any usable, productive tips on that, not even tell me if this problem was isolated to my own device, or a possible firmware bug. I still have the watch to this day and seven months later, the problem has even gotten worse and I now rarely get a correct reading. There are rides that my pulse readings barely exceed 110bpm. I have looked into it all these months trying to figure out what could be the possible cause for the HR inconsistency, from changing settings to rebooting to factory settings and it seemed to have worked... for the firest couple of rides before loosing accuracy again and again. Wasted time actually. So, I finally gave up. Amazfit NO MORE as it is very likely that this serious flaw may have been inherited to the newer models as well!
Thanks for the alerts and your thoughts on Amazfit. I finished comparing the Amazfit Falcon to the Garmin Fenix 7X and now will be wearing the Falcon and the Apple Watch 6. I am mostly concerned about the heart rate and sleep accuracy. I will also take into account workout calories and daily step count...
I am going to ask Amazfit about the heart-rate inconsistencies. I'll know more by Thursday. I wore the Falcon on my left today and the Apple Watch 6 on my right. I'll switch them tomorrow for fairness.
@@TheManWithTwoWatches You mean that you have experienced the inconsistencies on Falcon too? Changing wrists won't make the slightest difference. I know by personal experience..
Yes, I have experienced inconsistencies between the Garmin Fēnix 7X and the Amazfit Falcon. During a workout the HR goes up and down and takes many, many more seconds to give an accurate HR whereas Garmin is quicker and displaying an accurate heart rate. I even tested the cheaper model, a Garmin Venu 2 Plus - same issue, Falcon was behind, and Garmin was spot on. I am going through days & days of data when I wore the Fenix 7X and Falcon all day, all night for 10 days. The video will be coming out on this channel soon... As for more about the Amazfit Falcon, here's a video I released last night on my other channel, Peter Herget & Gadgets Anonymous ruclips.net/video/qFLYPU0YPnA/видео.html
Next time wear both watches on the same arm. Some arm movements do register as steps and you certainly move one arm more than the other throughout the day. This said, you should repeat the steps recorder experiment.
I think wearing the watches for multiple days and swapping wrists makes more sense. Wearing a Falcon and the Fenix on the same wrist is 110% uncomfortable even for just an hour or two - and yes, I've tried it. Thanks for the the input. I'll try it again later today just for fun.
Yes, you are correct, it would be the fairest comparison for steps. I just don't like how to feels for they are both large watches and they just don't fit nicely on either my left or right wrist.
