  • 3/10/24 Failure To Favor: How Obedience Precedes Divine Favor #overcomingobstacles #trustingod
While unpacking the book of Ruth, we start witnessing her unwavering commitment to follow Naomi, despite the uncertainty ahead. Ruth's story becomes a beacon of faith, urging us to press on despite setbacks and discomfort, knowing that God's favor awaits those who obediently follow His path. Through Ruth's example, we learn that obedience and perseverance often precede divine favor, and we can trust that God's favor will lead us to unexpected blessings.
God’s favor resides in a forward location… you have to move forward to find it.
    Faith presses forward through failure.
Following God puts you in the right place at the right time.
    Ruth’s 3 steps to favor:
    - Follow God in the discomfort.
    - Humbly take a next step.
    - Believe that God can turn anything around.
    Favor is in the field.
You don’t need favor unless you’re doing something difficult.
You don’t get favor unless you’re where God called you to be.
(Deuteronomy 31:8 NKJV) And the Lord, He is the One who goes before you. He will be with you, He will not leave you nor forsake you; do not fear nor be dismayed.”
Don’t end up in a spot where God’s not.
(Ruth 2:12 NIV) May the Lord repay you for what you have done. May you be richly rewarded by the Lord, the God of Israel, under whose wings you have come to take refuge.
Humbly pursue God and favor will find you!
(Psalm 27:4-5 NIV) One thing I ask from the Lord, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple. 5 For in the day of trouble he will keep me safe in his dwelling…
(Luke 2:46; 49; 52 NIV) After three days they found him in the temple courts, sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions. “Why were you searching for me?” he asked. “Didn’t you know I had to be in my Father’s house?” And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.
(2 Thessalonians 2:16-17 NIV) ”May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope, encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good deed and word.“
(2 Corinthians 12:9-10 NIV) But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.10 That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
What is the Holy Spirit saying to you today?
