People don't understand the logic and history behind food practices, so they end up spouting rubbish in the comments section. Krish makes sense, his words have logic in them. What he says is widely acceptable by people because it makes sense. Many vegetables that we eat now aren't even indegeneous to India, and our diet largely depends upon the geography we live in. For all those people who worship Ayurveda, Ayurveda did not exist in other parts of the world, wonder how they lived?? Japan also has a lot of people who live healthy and long lives, they don't have Ayurveda. Why are you always centralized towards Ayurveda?? Questioning is good, if you don't question then you never know the answer.

    • @shyamalagowri9992
      @shyamalagowri9992 Год назад +4

For Japanese their genes are the boon.. also they eat local.. similarly Ayurveda is specific to India with its local food.. ( anything grown local) it proved beneficial for many else it would have vanished. Follow what works for you.. no one is forced to choose particular diet plan

What a classic case of ignorance! Do you even know what ayurveda means? People in Andhra use groundnut oil in their cooking? That’s where I caught his bloody bluffing. Reason is people are too lazy to do any research studies.

@@shyamalagowri9992But most of our current staples aren't indigenous to India. And are Indians native to India? We all have migrated from Africa. So that means Ayurveda is specific to a particular set of genes from a particular time period or what??

My origins are from South India (Karnataka) and cannot relate to many things that he says rather disagree with many things. We are not Brahmins and would do farming but until 1990 we had chicken only once a year as a part of religious activity, but this guy says south guys ate beef. Also, we reared lot of cows and had milk products unlike what he is says that this is mostly in North.

There is a huge difference in the scale. Did you completely overlook the fact where he said the huge difference in area of plains. We have absolutely nowhere near actual topographical grasslands in South. It's mostly just Western Ghats and then wetlands and swamps. The places like Nilgiri where you can see dairy farms now, where not originally pastures, they because so after the British cut down all the trees and shipped them to make gunpowder

Moreover, this is a podcast. You don't have scripted dialogues that you need to follow in a video. Short videos are scripted that's why it's crisp and clear. Podcasts are longer because they are not scripted as much. For all those people who are saying that the guy is taking too long to explain or beating around the bush, well sometimes the answer isn't that straightforward to convey and some people are just very talkative. I relate because that's how I speak too.

  • @Jimoooooo

The problem is that people are very loyal to a certain belief, they tend to find anybody against it offensive. You will find this offensive if you are loyal to Ayurveda and will be on the bias side. And that prevents people from thinking logically and with a clean slate. Your judgement is highly influenced by what you belief, this causes a hinderence from questioning the ideology and leads people to blind belief. You should be able to judge without bias.

"Your Ayurvedic DETOX is TRASH | Dostcast w/ @krishashok (Masala Lab)"
    **Introduction:**
The Dostcast episode features Krish Ashok of Masala Lab fame, known for his scientific approach to food. The conversation delves into traditional practices, debunking myths, and understanding the science behind various culinary and dietary choices.
    **Key Concepts:**
    1. **Historical Context of Food Practices:**
    - The discussion starts with a historical perspective, highlighting how rules like not mixing milk and meat originated when refrigeration didn't exist, and milk was highly perishable.
    - Ashok connects these rules to practical challenges of the time, emphasizing the importance of understanding historical context.
    2. **Detox Myths:**
    - The concept of detoxifying the body is debunked, with emphasis on the stress raw plant products can impose on the liver.
    - Krish challenges the idea of certain juices detoxifying the body, labeling it as misleading and potentially harmful.
    3. **Cooking Techniques and Temperature:**
    - Cooking techniques are explored, particularly the use of mustard seeds to gauge oil temperature. This is presented as an example of traditional knowledge with a scientific basis.
    - The conversation touches on the lack of temperature sensors in the past, leading to practical techniques for determining optimal cooking conditions.
    4. **Evolution of Masala Lab:**
    - Krish Ashok's journey into breaking down food in a scientific manner is discussed, revealing the genesis of Masala Lab and his decision to educate people on the intricacies of food.
    5. **Food Myths and Influencers:**
    - The episode explores the role of social media influencers in perpetuating food myths and the challenge of distinguishing between genuine knowledge and sensationalized content.
    - Krish shares insights into the misinformation surrounding superfoods and ingredients with dubious studies.
    6. **Diversity in Diets:**
    - The discussion touches on regional dietary variations in India, highlighting how diverse geographical conditions influence food choices.
    - The impact of modernization on traditional diets and the need for dietary adjustments are addressed.
    7. **Spiciness and Taste Perception:**
    - An interesting exploration of taste buds, nerve endings, and the sensation of heat from chilies is presented, adding a scientific perspective to spice perception.
    - The brain's role in interpreting aromas and taste is discussed, providing insight into the complexity of food perception.
    8. **Dietary Choices and Genetics:**
    - The conversation expands to genetic factors influencing dietary preferences and abilities, such as lactose digestion.
    - Krish challenges the notion that certain diets, like veganism, are universally applicable, emphasizing the need for personalized dietary choices.
    9. **Controversies and Nuances:**
    - Controversial topics like the perception of periods and the consumption of certain animal products are addressed, challenging societal norms and encouraging open-mindedness.
    - The importance of adapting to changing times while respecting traditional knowledge is emphasized.
    **Conclusion:**
The episode concludes with a call for mindful eating, individualized dietary choices, and a recognition of the importance of adapting to new information. Krish Ashok's scientific approach to food provides a unique perspective on debunking myths and promoting a nuanced understanding of culinary practices.

Also, was it's a well controlled study to make sure no other cancer causing stuff was eaten? Do you get where I'm getting at? Doing gold standard double blind study like that for diets is very difficult. For the claim that you made, that study to be of good standard the participants would have had to be on a diet of nothing but red meat from the same controlled source and have their water, cook utensils and plumbing itself to be controlled and monitored. Understanding gravity and launching rockets, or understanding proteins and solving anemia, is different from seeing that eating particular leaf solves throat pain.

Sad to know the host's view thay the British "gave" us railways.
The British were chased out but left these kind of worshipers behind.
If it wernt for the British, we might have had Railways on our own and as the guest explained, maybe we would have made it better

I always listen to your podcasts but reading the caption and the guy you invited I am skeptical of watching it . I have seen this guys reels and I find this guy thinks that Ayurveda not a science and they said things randomly to be followed . He doesn’t understand that Ayurveda came up with concepts and solutions through trials and observations and wisdom learnt through experience. And this guys blurts out every possible nonsense in the name of science.

Content creators must look into it… I appreciate the intention but people like to listen to important concentrated knowledge not your whole interaction for hours.

Ridiculous title about ayurveda , ayurveda doesn't actually suggest detox it suggest " langhana " which is done during some specific diseased condition as the first line of treatment further
medicines are also used . *Try to remove the word "ayurveda" From your title let it be just detox which is modern terminology not our ancient science.

Also, i do not understand people's obsession with science. Our knowledge about things evolve with time. For example, nobody knew the dangers of white sugar 60 years ago. Cigerette smoking was also socially and medically accepted.
