Today i'm going to talk about another rare problem that occurs during windows installation.
Sometimes we get a message that "no drives are found"! It can mean three things:
1) Windows doesn't have drivers for the particular mother-board's SATA controller.
2) The hard drive isn't correctly connected to the mother-board or the power supply.
3) The hard drive doesn't work.

1) Type "diskpart"
2) Type "list disk"

To choose your disk
from the list. Here, I

go to bios.. (fn+f2)
& then go to configuration
& disable the usb XHCI controller
then save & exit (fn+f10)
after disable that usb XHCI.. no more required driver..

Thanks! Turns out the space needs to be Unallocated and so cleaning the disk in diskpart worked.

i have a solution, check if you have ssd, check in boot option if Raid function is on. switch it off, enable ahci mode instead.
go back your drive will show now. after installation you can switch raid back on.
What about for AMD?

I want to apply the second method but in command promt after list disk there is a message (there are no fixed disks to show)
I kinda fixed problem - went into bios/sata config/ and there was AHCI and Intel optane fast blaa blaa, i changed to AHCI and HDD showed ! Hope it helps...

Instead of “list disk” try typing “lis disk” it sounds dumb but it only works like that for me.
If you have an extra hard disk you can try them if that works meaning the first one you used is corrupted.

unfortunately I went to the motherboard website put in the model number and downloaded the drivers for ahci car windows 10 64 bit and still no good

welp i loaded the drivers and when it loaded the hard drive started showing and when i needed to uninstall other partitions it ran into an error and when i refreshed it every single hard drive was gone

HELLO. YOU MUST BE FRUSTRATED AS I WAS. I ALSO HAD THE SAME PROBLEM I FIXED by opening my laptop to check if the HARD DRIVE was properly inserted only to find out it was NOT. SO I PROPERLY INSERTED THEN BOOM😆!!! IT WORKED. HOPE IT WORKS FOR YOU TOO.

Yes I asked a advisor and he told me to reinsert the driver and if it doesn't work then buy a new hard drive (or send it to someone to check what's wrong because you might not have the same exact problem I have)

Sir, my laptops harddisk is crashed, so i am trying to boot my laptop with usb installed with windows 10 64bit download from windows media creation tool. I am getting the error drive 0 unallocated space Size 0.0 MB. Also i have tried diskpart>list disk>select disk 1(my usb)>clean (this cleans all the data in my pd i.e windows 10). Window files are no longer in the pendrive, after restart it says os does not exist.
I have tried rufus method with gpt type, then also i get this issue.
Also, i installed intel drivers. I scanned every driver but it doesn't work. Still the same disk 0 unallocated space error.
