Thanks! I was trying to decide between the "Google Nest Hub Max Smart vs Nest Hub 2nd Gen Smart" and my search brought me to your vid... I'll go the Hub 2nd Gen for the radar features and concern about security of camera... Your comment about it turning off audio as well as camera was invaluable, thanks!
Ah, the backlight bleeding... the not-so-glamorous side of consumer technology. But hey, at least it gives us something to talk about! Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts!
I'm agonising between buying a nest audio or a nest hub gen 2. I like the idea of a touchscreen but I'm not keen on the speaker facing backwards. On the other hand the nest audio sounds better, but no screen. The nest hub max is more than I want to spend at the moment, so it comes down to these two. Anything's got to be better than my nest mini. Any advice?
If you can get either of them used you can save a lot of money I would recommend the nest hub Max if you want audio and display otherwise get the nest audio.
Thnx for this. I found it useful as I have some 3M stuck on wall shelves by my bed. Was good to know how heavy they were. So don’t mind the comment haha it helped me out. Thnx
Don't get it!!! It's not a local hub. You cannot control devices if the internet goes out. It's not matter compliant... Besides a lot of apps on it don't work because Google killed them!!!
@@Lens_Addict there is no easy solution... All have cons and pluses, most need programming... Habitat seems to be the cheapest & good start but c8 doesn't include thread radio...that's what's holding me back right now...none have built in voice control that is where Google and Amazon hubs come in...then there is homekit that supposed to offline control but I can't get a good answer from anyone that has it...
This is the best review so far i have seen. even weighed both. unlike others who provides info that is already online available when buying.

So glad that it helped you out!
I have a nest hub 2gen and I'm happy with it
I love how you don’t have to say “Hey Google” anymore on the hub max. Very cool that it just recognises you
IKR it is so handy! I have been using it a lot, would you want me to make a video on the feature?
nice
Thanks mate, really a good comparison : ) will go for hub max for the better and louder sound
pretty sure he said the opposite lol 7:55
Why didn’t you wait for the second generation since it’s been 2 years or more since the google hub max came out now…
The backlight bleeding is kinda disappointing to be honest . Good video 👍

Thank you for the video. What kind of mic are you using?
A zoom h1 recording in wav.
Just bought the Google nest hub gen 2 for £41 on eBay brand new !
Wow nice, what a steal.
It's hard to tell, is the speaker on the Max much louder?
Yes it certainly is louder with more bass
Wow, both are much smaller than i thought!
it doesnt help I have massive hands haha
Did you find a chance to find out more about the micro USB port that you discovered in this video?
I think it is used mainly for the developers at google & maybe factory, I was unable to do anything with the port myself.
Do you know anything about, when 2nd gen hub max, will be out?
I used to work at Google so I absolutely have an idea but sorry I signed my NDA 😅😂
@@Lens_Addict Let's just purely hypothetical, say I considered to buy the max, within a year, would I regret it than? :D
2nd gen of Nest Hub Max is gonna be 2023 Google Pixel Tablet with speaker dock.
That would be pretty cool but I doubt it would be possible at the same price point as the current nest hub Max.
Forget the clock, review the wow couch man 👍👍👍
AHA thanks man, What would you want out of a couch review :D
🇧🇷🇧🇷👏🏻👏🏻, was thinking of getting the second generation and this was awesome to decide thanks …
Glad I could help!
Very good one, appreciation from India,
Don’t know what the big deal of the camera is if in the bedroom. Piece of tape solves the issue
It does but then you loose the gesture commands that the nest hub gen 2 has, without a camera!

How does the Nest Audio (not max) compare to Nest Hub Gen2 in terms on the audio quality? Would you know?
If you can get either of them used you can save a lot of money I would recommend the nest hub Max if you want audio and display otherwise get the nest audio.
I am thinking of getting it for Black Friday shopping it’s on sale, does the screen dim completely?
Yep, in the settings for both screens you can set the display to turn off in a dark room, as well as going very dim.
it's on sale today for $56 oz ebay
nest hub 2nd generation
why are you weighing objects meant to be stationary???
also, your mic for the audio test completely wiped out the bass
Why not? I love knowing much much products weigh.
@@TRHoldorable that’s no fun, I used a zoom h1 handy recorder, any tips on other mics I could use?

wish my Nest max had the sleep sensor feature
Yes me too!
excellent video
Thanks so much! what do you like the most about it?
6:28 i thought you said slave tracking m8 😂 😂
Thank you for not saying the key word hahah
HAha yes I tried my best, I hate the videos where it triggers your google home devices all around the house.

What would you suggest getting instead?
Sucks that it doesn't work locally.

Nice, a micro usb :)
Yes it's pretty cool to see the diagnostic port when you remove the bottom in the device
2.205 kilos
