In this Revit Tutorial I will show you how to create your own Revit Template. We'll discuss what a template should and shouldn't include, explain the differences between Templates and Libraries, as differences between file formats such as RVT and RTE. I have probably gone way overboard on my template but it has made me so efficient when working on projects and has helped to keep them consistent.
Hello and Great Video Milos. I had expected you to add "purge unused" stuff from the files you have converted from Older Revit Projects to Templates before you saved them for future use. This would reduce the file size further. However, you need to do this before you delete the model.
Literally in the process of making My company's revit templates. I think you should have touched on the difference between a .RTE file and a .RVT file. For instance, since my firm does a lot of work using Autodesk cloud, we need our template file to be a .RVT file so that we can have our worksets set up by default. Other than that, I think this was a really helpful video and will help me to organize my thoughts to make sure I have everything accounted for. Thank you!
Is there any chance you could tell me the difference between those too? I'm not being sarcastic swear. I'm genuinely curious. That way I'll know when I run into this kind of problem.
@@thatcapuchin6597RTE is template file. RVT is project. Then there is RFA in which is family and RFT = family Template
Yeah not a good method for template use. If you have a plug in like Guardian for Revit, each project can automatically get your specific company list of worksets added after being work shared on the cloud.
Nice sir
There are so many nuances and buried settings in template creation that is in no way covered in this under 15 minute video. Everyone should do some searching and really read and watch more of what can be and shouldn't be included in a template file.
Thank you sir
Great work done. But I would like to ask, do we always need to use different templates for different projects like from normal houses to industrial, storey buildings, airports and others?
Short answer is no. If you keep a single template generic enough and not project type specific, and keep families in libraries, it is much easier to maintain a single template and not 5.
Thank you for the video. Is there a way to tranfer worksets from one file to another. That is something that can not be saved in a template.
I like the llama doll on the back😃😀
