    The last thing you want to do is OVER ENGINEER. That, in part, is how Tecumseh recently went bankrupt.

    Attached or not, this is the usual or not way to keep a mower, its already attached on the side, what difference does it make to keep it in the garage..?

    That's Not a good idea you should put it on its side with the carburetor facing up.

      This engine for this mower was specifically designed for storing it upright like this. It’s some no-leak feature introduced by Briggs & Stratton featured in Toro’s SmartStow line. I only know this because I’m currently looking for a new mower and haven’t seen this feature in any others.
