- It's finally time for a Nostalgia Rewind on Super Mario Galaxy, which is one of my favorite games of all time. This game is simply incredible, and making this video was an amazing journey through everything this game has to offer. Thanks for Watching!

For me the SMG games will always be timeless pieces, everything about it is incredible.
I really hope we get SMG3 one day, Nintendo has always improved Mario games. A modern Galaxy game would surely be the best of the best of Mario games.
the soundtrack of super mario galaxy is such a great addition to the game: the beautiful orchestral elements mixed with the spacious almost ominous synths that gives the music both uplifting adventure but still has those wonders of curiosity. a great example of this is gusty garden galaxy being all orchestra giving you the player the feeling of joy and triumph, while shadow comet being all synths gives the player feeling of anguish and fearfulness. it fits extremely well with the whole space galaxy thing i feel like

Just a quick little tidbit. The ufo is actually what you fight King Kaliente on! Neat little detail I didn't notice until subsequent playthroughs
Hate to break it to you, but it's actually not. Unless you're thinking of Topmaniac, not King Kaliente, in which case it's still not the same UFO but is a similar one.

I first played this game on my 6th birthday in 2008. It’s still a 10/10 experience 15 years later. I hope we get a remastered Galaxy 1+2 someday, I’d pay 80$ for that.

I was born barely a month before Galaxy was released, and since 2012, when I was 5 and got a Wii, I've been trying to finish the game, I finally finished it around two months ago, and I took over 11 years to finish it, some people laughed at how bad I was for taking over 10 years to finish Galaxy, and I understand, but the reason why I did is that I never wanted to truly finish the game, because that would mean a part of my life would have been completed, and that is something I didn't want to see happen, I eventually managed to finish it, and gosh darn was that a great ending! I have never cried while playing video games, and this is the one exception, I cried like a baby, when I finished it, and after that, in bed, thinking about the ending, (that's one of the reasons I cried in the Mario Movie, why the hell did they have to put Gusty Gardens in the credits? I love it so much) I believe you have done as much justice as you could to the game in this video, and I am sad that we will probably never get a Mario Galaxy 3, this have been, and I'm positive that will be the best memories of my childhood.

It wasn't something we thought would come. But the time waiting was time well spent. This game is one of the greats, even if it isn't my favorite, there's no denying about how great the game is. Super Mario Galaxy is probably my favorite Mario game, it has my favorite gameplay, soundtrack, atmosphere & visuals. The only thing I hated was how hard it was to control underwater, but I guess that was the developers way of making the Shell more enticing to use to navigate underwater.
I'm really glad you touched on how great the atmosphere is as well as the music, the two of those are what make the game feel so special. Two levels in Galaxy 2 that really captures the essence of that are Starshine Beach Galaxy & Cosmic Cove Galaxy, two levels that I could just jump into the game and spend an eternity there.
I rarely comment but I just wanted to say that youre videos never fail to bring me a smile, thank you for sharing your love for Nintendo games with us !
For Super Mario Galaxy on 3D All Stars, I just played with double Joy-Cons, and it felt very natural. It reminded me of my old Wii-mote and Nunchuk combo

Mario Galaxy movie please! This game lends itself really well to a movie, and I’m surprised I’m saying that about a Mario game too. The music, cutscenes, mechanics, and story depth would make for a great story and even maybe allowing for some Rosalina character study.
There's a reason this will forever be my favourite video game of all time; the story, gameplay, theme, level design, music and of course nostalgia. I'm 20 now, and still I go back and 100% this game every year without fail. Really great video mate!
you worded a lot of the things i feel about galaxy so well💓💓 man i still tear up whenever i hear the observatory music and i vividly remember walking around the darkened areas of the observatory and how mysterious it all felt. i played the game with my cousin when i was around 10 and we were so invested in rosalina's story we kept trying to unlock all the chapters🥺
personally I'm actually in a little bit of a unique situation because i played galaxy 2 before galaxy, so i have even more nostalgia attached to that one and if you ever do end up making a video on galaxy 2 I'd be super excited😍
Zelda: Twilight Princess was the reason I bought an original Wii on its launch day but Super Mario Galaxy, at the time, was the game I was most hyped for and fortunately it delivered. Creative levels, cool mechanics with a slight twist while still feeling very familiar, an excellent soundtrack and more of a story than usual for the Mario games. Easily a top 3 entry in the Mario platformer series and that's saying a lot considering its history.
The Wii is still my favorite console to go back to again and again ❤️. I love watching your videos, they always calm me down and make my day better.
I have pretty strict parents, and the only gaming console I've ever had was a Nintendo Wii (still play it every now and then).
Some of my best memories from 7-8 years ago are from me waking up on a Saturday morning and playing Super Mario Galaxy while everyone else was sleeping in. I vividly remember one instance where the alarms failed to go off and I ended up beating the entirety of Honeyhive galaxy in one morning.
I haven't played galaxy in a while, but Good Egg Galaxy, Buoy Base Galaxy and Gusty Garden Galaxy still occupy spaces 1, 2 and 3 on my music playlist. Not only was Super Mario Galaxy an amazing game, it came with some of the best music ever.
So yeah. I love Super Mario Galaxy.
This is my favoutite game of all time, and a large factor for this is the music, however when i played this first i knew nothing of music theory, now after studying it for nearly a decade i have gone back to this soundtrack and analysed it and it is definitely the most creative soundtrack ever in my opinion. This game is the reason that the lydian mode in music is my favorite mode as it ustilises its mysterious and etheral nature extremely effectively. The part of this game that resonates with me the most however particularly is the gateway galaxy, the one you start out with, this is becuase of the beautiful music paired with the cosiness yet desolate loniness of the small planet. Whenever i re visit the game, i always head to this galaxy and it gives me a feeling unlike anything else.
I've also wanted to make a video on the nostalgic warmth of Galaxy for some time, but could never quite put into words what the game means to me. You've done a great job summarising it!

Super Mario Galaxy is still my favorite game of all time 16 years later. The story, the way it looks, the fun levels, and of course that fantastic music all make for such a unforgettable experience. It’s the only video game I have cried while playing it. I also still cry to that flawless music to this day. Plus Rosalina is still my favorite female fictional character in anything. I resinate with her backstory of giving up people she cared about and being a mother figure to those who love her. Plus she’s the most beautiful thing in the entire Galaxy! Overall I give this a 5/5 and am still standing up out of my seat applauding this game almost 20 years later! Man the late 2000’s and early 2010’s just rocked for so many reasons!
I used to prefer this game over both the sequel and Odyssey but now I like those games better just because they feels more polished and fast-paced.
But Galaxy 1 is still awesome and we can't not mention how outstanding the soundtrack and the story are. :_)

Did you know that if you ground pound right after you spin jump, you will home into a nearby enemy if you're close enough.
Also, I heard Mario has some unique diving animations if you jump from a high location into the water.
Your video made me actually consider if perhaps this game is better than Super Mario Odyssey. While I still have yet to figure that out, I will definitely say that both games are masterpieces in their own way, and both are must-plays!
I will say that Super Mario Galaxy wins out on the music! The Gusty Garden Galaxy is probably one of the best pieces of music in gaming history, and perhaps, some day, it'll become even more iconic than Mario's theme!
I have a very weird relationship with this game. I've only ever watched my twin play the game, but I still absolutely loved what I watched. The cutscenes looked epic, the gameplay looked like so much fun, and the atmosphere just grasped my attention. It made me a fan of the galaxy aesthetic, and made Rosalina my favorite Mario character ( also love the Lumas, which made me a fan of star like characters ). And I still go back and listen to the music whenever I have trouble sleeping ( which is often ). I hope that I can actually play it one day.
I 100%ed this game last year! Now I'm on the road to 100%ing it as Luigi!

This game was so magical for me as a kid, despite never beating it because I wasn't really good at 3D games and my Wii being used by my family. But I really want to dive back into this game for nostalgia purposes
Other than Brawl, Galaxy was the game that made me want a Wii. And man, although I prefer Galaxy 2 nowadays, Galaxy is pretty much the perfect Mario game in my eyes. It nails everything I love about the series.

Mario flying through space just feels... normal, now. I have been playing Mario games since the 90s, but it's like I can't remember a time when Mario was NOT travelling space.
It shows how iconic Galaxy (and Galaxy 2 to some degree) really is. Odyssey is amazing and a massive game that created so much hype, but it seems like everybody already forgot about it :/
Got this for Christmas from my parents at my grandmothers house. I remember booting it up and playing for days straight. My grandma’s place was where we always had Christmas so this game along with my first GameCube and GBA will always have a memory with me. Thanks for the video 🥲

Mario Galaxy really is something else. Replayed it on switch last year and was completely amazed by it again. I owned it on Wii but all my nunchuke were broekn so i couldn't play half my Wii games and learned to play brawl on a Wii mote.
I wish we could get a SMG3. It would be crazy what they could do on the Switch

Why did they end the Wii? It was such an amazing unique experience. I remember getting this game when I was 8 years old from my grandpa. The best experience I had was fighting the big green beetle that poops bombs in the honey galaxy, which is my overall favorite galaxy. I remember the nostalgic feeling when I started the game. It forever holds a special place.
This gives me so much nostalgia, even though I didn’t play it that much. My younger brother was always the better gamer, so I would usually just sit back and watch, but I look back on those moments just as fondly as if I had been the one playing

I feel like nobody ever talks about the implications about the end of mario galaxy. Every mario game we play is just the same thing happening in a loop but a little bit different every time, with rosalina always watching us from space. It's a really cool way to tie together a franchise that seems to have no continuity.
As a kid i was always sad that i could only use the red star in the observatory or the one mission in the gate. I really wish it was used in the final fight against bowerser. Maybe instead of platforming througg that lava bullet bill tunnel we fly through it and dodge all the bullet bills

This here is my favorite game of all time
I know I am in the very small minority here, but Galaxy is probably my second least favourite Mario game. The levels, power-ups, music are really fun, but nothing else really does for me. The controls on both wii and switch port feel the worst out of every 3d Mario game, and the lack of proper camera controls makes it really hard for me to see where I supposed land or jump to. The space theme has never really done anything for me, as I much prefer the resort theme in sunshine, and globe-trotting adventure style of Odyssey. It honestly makes me sad that I can't see the masterpiece that so many other see, as I really find myself fighting the controls of Galaxy and just wanting to play something else instead. Maybe I need to re-play it again and my opinion will change.
3:01 while the ufo isn't a boss, you do fight 4 bosses while on it. Topmaniac, Topmaniac daredevil, Topmaniac's revenge and Topmaniac's revenge speed run (yes, i know speedrun is 1 word, but not in super mario galaxy).
This game came out when I was already 23, so I don’t have childhood memories of it as I grew up with the NES/SNES/N64 era. However Galaxy 1 is my favorite Mario game ever and is in my top 5 or 6 games of all time.

Did you know: Bowser Jr. Has two snaggleteeth in this game, ensnared though he’s only supposed to have one. They fixed this in Galaxy 2.

i cried just from the intro because i am from Connecticut and i move across the country to california and left all my family behind and it reminded me of being a little kid having the most nintendo consoles and the biggest fan boy playing the Wii and my family supporting me to beat a level i miss them.
