Learning to jump/jumping for a week/month will be the WORST but the BEST at the same time. Worst because your thighs will kill you, you will get anxious, but best because you will finally get over the fear of jumping!

Don't listen to the neighsayers when it comes to determining between what is a real jump and what isn't! I personally believe it is. And I agree with you; you can't go right from 0 to 100. Almost all of the people who say that don't do enough flatwork before learning to jump. It's good that you're instructor is working with you on balance and seat/two pointing *before* jumping! Also, I think something that will really help you in the corners, as well as when it comes to weaving between cones and staying straight after poles, would be leg yielding! You honestly could've probably made it through the cones all by using your leg! But I'd definitely try to use both inside leg *and* outside rein to keep Filo and future horses out on the rail and in the corners. I loved hearing the, "We ate that up. We ate, no one fell." Lol! Nice lesson! 😊 Good luck on your next ride!

CLARA POSTED ON MY BIRTHDAY EEEK! I know jumping for the first time is really scary, especially as I hadn’t known I was jumping that day, my instructor was just like “Yo- do you wanna jump?” And I was like “YES!”. I jumped on one of the lazier horses who I always forget how big he actually is when I get on, because he’s quite tall compared to what I’m used to. I jumped on a horse called ‘Scooby’ and he was genuinely well-behaved that day- except from cutting corners 😅
I see both horses have something in common (both cut corners).
Hope Filo was pretty good for you today! ❤

I wish i could jump someday sadly i havent never learned to canter, just if i have another instructor they let me canter once, otherwise i can't canter ever feel like i learn everything so slow or because im not normal like other people, and i can't ride every week or sometimes many months/years i love horses more than anything and them make me feel normal but i feel like i should quit but i don't want, because i want learn canter some day in the 6 years when i started. Only lucky people can do things with horses. Wish i could ride on the same stable and not change another, because i dont learn anything.

    • @simpliikeq
      @simpliikeq 10 месяцев назад

@@jansku4766we have that in common! Trust me when I say this, patience is key! I started riding in January 2020 and only rode maybe once a month or every other month. 2021 was similar, until the end of that year they decided not to do lessons, January 2022 I started the process of finding a new barn, I hated it at the first one, April 2022 I tried another one and I liked it there but they canceled my second lesson without notice. Almost a year ago I found the one I ride at now and it’s super affordable to what I can do! I now ride every other week and possibly may even be able to ride every week! I prayed for years and I’m so beyond grateful for my trainer and her patience, I to have yet to canter but our trainers see what we need to fix before advancing, we will get there one day! I hope you are able to as well!! 😊

Amazing job Clara! ❤✨ I haven’t officially started jumping bc the horse I ride currently can’t jump but my “first jump” story is kinda funny. So I was riding a fjord named Lola and she is known for walking up mounting blocks, well one time we were trotting in a round pen bc the arena was too wet to ride in and all of a sudden she jerked off the rail and jumped the mounting block. I somehow didn’t fall off or anything but the video I have of it is quite funny bc my instructor says afterwards “Wow, I guess Lola graduated herself from walking up” so ever since then Lola is not allowed within 5 feet of a mounting block 😂😂😂

Hi clara!. I just fell off today. Story: i was riding my horse Willie and we were doing crossrails in a line and when we were trying to do that Willie went away and he jumped a pile of poles. And they were the long way and i prop stayed on for 2 sec at most and i fell off. I could barley get up my back still hurts and it was at 12:00 (3:00 now) or sum. I had now two falls his hoofs were 8ft at most. Im only 9yrs old and i was rlly scared but I got back on and trotted over poles and my coach said she was proud. Hey at least i wanted to be a jumper lol. (Im a big fan!)

When I first started to learn how to jump at my old barn they didn't exactly teach us how and just sorta threw us into the arena to figure it out ourselves lol I do have a little trick I don't know if ur barn tells you to do this but I found it worked out really well for me is when ur done jumping or just doing flat work don't bring them into the middle of the arena right away keep them on the rail till they walk that way they don't try to pull you into the middle when working! But thats just me may not work for you :D

It is a real jump! Raised pole are amazing basic jumping exercises to work on distances and exercise our horse without the risk of higher jumps that can cause severe injuries if done every day.
My only suggestion would be, instead of throwing your body forward, standing more on ur stirrups in the middle of the jump. But it’s just a suggestion u can choose to take it or not. ❤And remember practice makes perfect, you can do this!

also! If you want to know some of the things I've been told to remember. My instructor said things like "kepp your chin up"
"Dont cut the corners" "keep in line" "Make sure your postition is correct before jumping" and more
Just thought you might want to know some things that you might be told for future reference@@RidewithClara

    • @Simply-EQ

Hi! I think the sign on the door says to! And I believe the reason being everyone knows that you’re entering! Hope this helps!!! 😃

Yes exactly !! Just so the riders already in the arena know that someone is coming in. Especially if they’re in the middle of a lesson!

It might be time to look at another barn! But if you’ve been riding for that long and haven’t progressed to where you believe you should be maybe you should ask your trainer what she needs to see from you in order to go to the next level so that you know what you need to work on ☺️

It will get better! I used to be able to memorize nothing, I forgot a 4 jump course (being literally two lines) at my first show 😂 but not I can memorize courses well! to help you can look up competitions or go to local shows in your area if possible just to watch and get the courses memorized as practice! to just watch local shows its free
