I like the 1st gen, i have it. It just gets to be a struggle sometimes to get my arm around my son to get the shoulder clips. But he is much more comfortable in it than the few mom got and mom started using the TBG carrier. Our son is now one and growing out of it.
Just received mine today! A little confused on when i can use it though as the recommended size range is 8lb to 33lb but then i see 2 months for rear facing...my boy is already over 8lbs at just a few weeks old, could you please advise?
Hey! That's the removable sunshade. The sunshade can provide extra comfort for your child on hotter days and protect their sensitive skin. You can remove it with the buckles at the bottom of the pouch.

Hey thanks man! The main changes we made are to the ergonomics and the fabric we use. The entire carrier is now cotton (making it entirely machine washable). Still has all the awesome additions like the sunshade, detachable bib, & Molle webbing. We also added more padding throughout the entire carrier making it even more comfy for mom/dad & baby!

Comparing them in person, they aren't much different in size. The Everyday Backpack is only about 4.3 L smaller in capacity because it includes the cooler pouch (as you know). The Daypack Diaper bag does not include the cooler pouch but offers the detachable pull down changing mat and a smidge more interior space. Each of them have their own special features as well, but as far as size goes, I think it's really based on personal preference.
