Three things: 1. You should definitely swap the stock SD card for a branded one because that no name sh*t card will definitely die sooner than later. 2. You should get your own clean roms from sources like Myrient instead of relying in those that came with the device because those a bad and/or buggy dumps. For example many lack the ability to save the game. 3. You should definitely install Onion OS (or any other CFW) but don't stick with the stock OS. Emulators are not optimised and outdated. Have fun. :)
Onion OS really is a game changer. Tried adding ROMs to the Miyoo Mini with the stock OS and it wouldn’t work. Switched to Onion and it worked no problem
@@shoto4520installing the Onion Os is really straightforward and easy to do. Stock Os is fine enough though, only the nes roms are underwhelming and most of those are in chinese, but all the other roms are fine. While changing the micro SD is recommended, I didn't bother changing mine and so far it hasn't failed me. Honestly at factory it's good and totally usable. Of course putting Onion Os is an upgrade, but "rework the whole console" is inaccurate and a bit spiteful. For the price it is freaking great, even with just the stock os. Definitely a better experience than what used to be Stock Anbernic or Powkiddy, but even these brands have caught up and improved their basics. I don't know, but I feel the video review here is rather nitpickiy, for instance 6/10 for this display is rather a low rating! The display is great and sharp and the angles are totally fine. It's an 8/10 for me. Anyways, didn't want to comment as much, but it's a fabulous handheld just like its predecessor which can be bought for 50 bucks and even 30 bucks if you get a the periodical discount on Aliexpress. It deserves a lot of praise, even with the stock OS. Not meaning to be mean, but this "reworking the whole console" is rubbish. Onion OS is for free and an upgrade which costs you 10 minutes at best and you can backup your roms and put them right back, or put your own roms. The whole purpose of Onion Os is to customize the console to very minute details, with maybe a very slight boost in performance and a few extra emulators, and other perks such as a retro achievements if this matters to you, which is awesome, but optional at best. Most people who aren't geeks will be totally fine with the console out of the box. I hate to say it, but some people have no respect when talking about a product. I find your comment a bit disrespectful towards the manufacturer which did a very praised console and towards the community which worked on and improved the operating system, they did the whole work out of passion. You did no work whatsoever, all you have to do is download an OS, optionally if you want Onion Os, put it on an a micro SD card and let the console do all the work. Done. If that's work for you, I laugh. If you're scared about the micro SD, by all means get a new one, which isn't a huge investment by any means and if you go to the "trouble" to put Onion Os, you may as well buy one with a whole lot more storage. Part of the whole joy of retro hanhelds is fiddling with custom firmware anyways and making it your own to your specific likings.
A local shop near me uses Onion OS and the "tiny-best-set-go" setup of roms on a branded 128GB SD card. I only added 10 bucks for it. Definitely opt for those if its available for you.
Honestly, ive had my Miyoo mini plus for about a year now and im still running stock OS and the og sd card it came with and i haven't had any issues 🤷♂️ i could swap them out and install onion but its too complicated and i dont wanna brick my console
I ordered a Retroid Pocket 4 S Pro yesterday and considering the Miyoo Mini Plus as well. The screen looks HUGE. Maybe the 1:1 I dunno, but it looks massive.
I've got mine this year and I'm in love! This is the best entry level handheld and really good for the price. I'm definetely going to buy something more powerfull along the way but for now this is really good!
For people thinking about buying it. 1. Buy a branded SD card, 32GB-64GB is ALL you'll need. 2. Use Onion OS 3. Look for the best prices and USE COUPONS if you find some. I got mine for $35.
I got first a 128gb one but later decided to go 256gb because of PS1 (I have around 258 roms) and because of movies. It's the best for fully enjoy it in flights 🤗
@@jacobporter419 I’ve been using the 3ds as an emulation device since it has able to get home brew. My device is still in amazing condition & the hinges are great. It’s more about preserving my console to keep it as clean as possible. This is coming from someone who trashed gbc’s, gba’s, & sp’s. I’m a grown ass man now that can take care of my items lmfao edit: I’m over playing DS/3DS games anyways, I moved on to SNES, GBC, & GBA. I grew up in the DS era so I can finally give those a rest.
I got one whit a 128gb sandisc SD card pre-installed and cleaned up games list (about 6400+ games) and pre-loaded newest version of onionOS for 75$ from litnxt. I know i was able to get it cheaper from other places but it was my first retro handheld and i wanted it easy and just play out of the box. Works awesome iv started to add some nice pokemon modded games and sutch also having a blast on it 😊 had it 8 months now still no issues and just works 🥰
Upgrade to the onion OS and this will get even better. Ggot mine bout 3 months ago and is amazing. Also get a good brand sd card and card reader since the 1 that comes with it tends to fail.
I see why your experience was meh, you were using stock os. Stock os is no bueno. If you install onion os you will fall in love with the Miyoo Mini Plus.
You know if 2 miyoo mini plus for Pokémon on multiplayer will run 2 different unique Pokémon copies or do they just duplicate the host game? Online what I’ve seen is people only testing and duplicating a host and not having the host and the person joining running their own save
The R36S may have a better display, and the device is slightly bigger, but the d-pad and buttons are awful. Plus, Onion OS is more intuitive and is more feature-rich.
No. I hate smartphones, but my stupid country is making everything that way you need a smartphone. Gaming on a smartphone just kills the battery faster
Just use smartphone: playing with %60 black bezzels, disgusting touch control, 500+ whatsapp notification, battery lasting 2 minutes, missed calls from ex-girlfriend Yeah i think I'll stick with my miyoo mini.

So basically rework the whole console

just got mine in today & I'm loving it so far! So happy I can retire my 3DS since it's still in great condition T_T
But why retire the 3DS? You can rarely play DS/3DS games accurately on any cheap handheld nowadays

that phone call at 1:45 was next level.
The game crashes are due to the stock sd card. I replaced mine with an amazon basics one.
Today I learned the Miyoo Mini Plus' menu music is just a straight copy from the Vita 😂
I just got one in October of 2024 and I cannot put it down. So far I think it’s just about perfect for what I use it for.
i ask my parents to buy one
Nice
Did they let you get it

"Nothing like an OLED" for $60 💀
My guy, it has been 2 YEARS since this handheld came out
WHY are you not aware of Onion OS?
On my third one to put it simply YUP!
This thing has a gig of RAM. not 128 MB. Am I missing something? O_o
the only console i have atm, its amazing
Did I see doom on it?
I believe there is doom
I'm dying to know, does it have Pokémon games??
yep!! it does 🫢
That's what I was just wondering 🤔😂
You can easily add them

I already have an android and I wanna convince myself I don't want this 😫😫 but I'm also using my son as an excuse of why I need this 🤣
ali express selling them for $40 right now

good choice
Resident evil horror games ???
I strongly prefer the R36S
rgb20sx is better

better than RG35xx bought the ambernic first and broke in a week due to its cheap sd card slot and its cheap feeling overall
Your a rookie do some background before you make a video

Yeah i think I'll stick with my miyoo mini.
You can’t play all these games. Also if you do a lot cost money and take up Storage.
Bought 35xxp and h last month, but can't beat good old miyoo mini. OnionOS is just too good.
