We continue our playthrough of WFA with a new British pilot. We start in January 1917, the same month our previous German pilot was shot down and captured.
I love the narrative this game creates. I have watched a couple of episodes and decided this is a game for me. Thank you for bringing it to my attention through RUclips.
After seeing how painful the gun jams were when facing the British in that one mission, it's nice to see you weaponising them here and now *as* the British. Weapon maintenance rocks!
Great series Poindexter. Re: the Rumpler. It had two fuel tank hits. Wouldn't this cause a forced emergency landing? You would also get the victory as you are over No-Man's-Land (see the note at bottom right of the B10 2-Seater chart).
When tailing, any hits scored add one additional Tail hit to the target. At 11:15 the German drew a Barrel Roll which = Avoid 2 hits. Shouldn't he still have taken one hit in the tail? Or does the "cancel 2 hits" take effect first so there are no hits scored and thus no extra Tail hit?
@@pdex2165 I guess one could try something like starting with an extra good luck charm or playing with an ace. That could be very cool. Are there any italian aces in the box? Francesco Baracca was quite the legend...
In the 1st combat, you should have rolled to see if he crashed due to damage. He has 1 hit short on Port Struts and Controls. So 8-10 would have crashed him.
You cheated yourself by not taking the hits on the Tail when you are tailing him. That would have given you 2 more hits to the tail and he had 1 already. That would have shot the 2nd combat with the 2 Seater down.
I love your videos so much, but this one really drives home how much I dislike these narrative solo games; a plane with control damage drawing endless “avoid all damage” cards is frustrating for me to watch, let alone play!
This is indeed somewhat troubling. I would suggest the designers to not only apply 'No Agility' in case of damaged controls but also 'Avoid all damage' becomes 'Avoid 2 hits'. A bit similar to the 'sixth sense' skill where a DE is changed into 2 random hits.

Wow, that Albatross pilot was an exceptional pro. With damaged controls he managed to pull off all thse evasive manoeuvres!
Respect.
Another great episode - and the encounters do really seem to give the impression of dogfighting.
Your delivery of the videos is top notch. Excellent visual aids.
also wouldnt you add an automatic tail hit when you were on the 2 seaters tail?
Wohoo... I've been waiting for a continuation! Thank you!
Got it. Absolutely brutal survival odds. On my 4th play. Love it.

The series is off to a good start. Well done, as usual, for the high quality production.

You are absolutely correct. I missed that little tidbit. It will be corrected in the next video. Thanks for the clarification!
@@pdex2165 No worries. On the whole, watching your videos has revealed more mistakes that I was making than you were making. Thanks for the good work.
@@JimeryWAme, too!
YESS!!! Thank God! I thought something had happened to you.

Can this series go on, like... FOREVER? 😂
My package should be here next monday: can't wait!
Hey, I'd like to but this war is brutal as you can see. Might be wishful thinking :)

Great episode
Didn't the Albatros have damaged controls? Wouldn't that negate its ability to maneuver away from the shots?
Question: where is the introductory footage from? Gives me the shivers and the goosebumps.
Two movies: "Flyboys" (2004) and "The Red Baron" (2010)
Why is your sortie log different from the one included with the game?
I downloaded this one off of boardgamegeek. I liked the layout better.
@@pdex2165 I agree. The one included with the game is garbage.

Thanks, yeah I actually did I just didn't film it. The chances were really low so I didn't bother recording that he did not crash.
Where did you get the logsheets they look nice
Great patrol !
The combat log sheets you're using are different than the ones that came in my game box. Is there somewhere I can get the ones you have?
I think it’s available on BoardGameGeek under Files.
