Rondo, we understand the struggle trust me. It looks good on paper that we haven't had a losing season in however long but the fact is we havent had a playoff win in almost a decade. Watching Bell and Brown piss away their careers instead of being all time steeler legends, plus season after season of being just good enough to get stomped out in the first round is a different type of pain. You may think we're spoiled, but the truth is SteelerNation is hungry.
As a bengals fan that loathed the Marvin Lewis years where we would win 10+ games but lose in the playoffs every year I hear what you're saying...but also cmon, y'all are a little spoiled lol. You're arguably the second most successful franchise in league history, you have the first real dynasty in the 70's when you won 4 SBs in 6 years. Then another mini-dynasty from 2001-2010 in which you had 5 conference championship appearances, 3 SB appearances and 2 wins. Since then you've only known the heartache of never being out of any season and in the middle of a TWENTY ONE YEAR streak of not having a losing season - soon to be 22 - which is pure insanity. Y'all are spoiled in the sense that theres an entire generation of Steelers fans old enough to drink that don't know what it's like for their team to be utter trash. To have their team that's out of playoff contention by week 10 and starting to think about mock drafts before the season is over. The vast majority of NFL fans old enough to drink have experienced this. Even the Chiefs were uttter TRASH 12 years ago lol so yeah, y'all definitely spoiled
@Rowlandi11 I'm not arguing we're not successful, especially in comparison to a franchise like the Bengals (no offense) that hasn't had much success in the post season. The 70s I'm sure were an amazing time to be a fan, and yes it is awesome to have that history I'm not denying that. But I'm just saying, I'm 29. I was 11 when they won in 06 and 13 in 08 when they beat the Cards. Since then, its been year after year of the same shit. Like I said in the comment above, losing AB and Bell was devastating. Our defense is just now starting to recover from the Shazier injury all those years ago, and dont get me started on the 2020 11-0 embarrassment of a season. People think its fun being a steelers fan, but the truth is the franchise has been stuck for quite a while and we're just praying this year is different.
This reply encapsulates what being spoiled makes you think. Having winning records and losing in the playoffs is still better than what Washington has been going through in that same period.
Refs flagged jpj the whole game but ignored Taylor-Britt pulling Pickens to the ground by his helmet on the pick 6. Don’t get me wrong tho, jpj was ass.
“Spoiled” we was winning with a really old Big Ben, we had one year we cycled between Kenny Pickett, Mitchell trubisky, mason rudolph and Josh dobbs, we was winning off straight TJ watt, Cameron Hayward, minkah, and Boswell for like the past 5 years
I get what they saying, we're not winning playoffs regularly but we're not losing like that either. Bengals are like 4 and 9 when's the last time the Steelers were 4 and 9? Steelers fans would be jumping out the window if we were 4 and 9. Year after year teams don't make it to the playoffs but year after year Steelers are consistently in the playoffs. Despite the fact that we don't win playoffs, other teams would kill for Steeler consistency.
It breaks my heart to see how happy and childlike Calvin Austin III was when he scored his TD to getting taken out of the game for a head injury later.
I mean not having a losing year or not. I wouldn’t call it being spoiled being blown out in the first round or not making the playoffs for 5-6 years. We deserve this shit! We’ve been patient as hell.
As a Steelers fan, "how does it feel to not have a losing season for this long under Tomlin", its good and bad when you have conversations with folks. Good because the franchise hasn't been sooo baddd like others and they show heart, however being in the middle pack has not helped us with top picks in the draft to drastically improve so we are taking micro steps to improve. I'm personally tired of "not have a losing season" but do absolutely nothing in the playoffs since Ben has retired so the seasons have felt like a waste. If we were making deep runs or always a serious contender like the Niners (outside of this year) or something, I'd always feel good about my squad. This year, I am hopeful we can at least advance and make some noise in the AFC.
That pick 6 was such a pi, he grabbed his helmet and threw it to the ground. Pickens got robbed 2 games in a row😭 plus, we always be clinching making wild card, how are we as fans spoiled

This was the last few years of Chuck Noll being the HC - but before Bill Cowher - where we had Bubby Brister as QB, and just a plethora of fill-ins because we couldn't draft in any higher rounds because of our success in the '70s. The Steelers saving grace is that Management seeks out not only good, talented HCs - but they also seek out "CHARACTER" in their coaches - and then allows them TIME to grow, mature, and eventually succeed as they place the right pieces around him/them. Having only 3 HCs since the late '60s says a LOT about the organization as a whole, IMO. It is what it is.....
12:47 Never had a losing season, but we haven’t won a playoff game since 2016. We’ve also had several seasons where we knew we weren’t contenders going in, and just ended up being mediocre. That means no high draft picks. So sure, we normally win enough games to stay in the mix, but this team hasn’t had any playoff success in almost a decade. Spoiled might be overstating it, but definitely not far off. If anything, it’s been frustrating being a Steelers fan for the past decade.

@@DirtSailor5 I’d take 2 losing seasons for better draft picks, then to have a winning record and get blown out by 21 by bills and chiefs. I could go more into depth about Tomlin and he’s the worse coach against losing record teams. (He holds the most loses to teams under .500) Thursday he’s 0-9 against afc teams. Clock management is horrible late in games. I don’t think he will get a Super Bowl. If he does this is the year. Especially with the chiefs not looking good at all.
