    Another review for Banggood.com, this time a tubular Lock cutting machine. Never seen something like this before and it’s such a cool thing to play with. Seems to work pretty well too. This says 7.3 mm, but I’m still using 7.8 mm key blanks (internal diameter); I’m not sure I made that clear in the review :-) There are also 4 different sizes to meet your needs :-)

      @paulprice6654 6 лет назад

      Lock Noob sorry lock noob to repeat what you have said but are you saying the one you demonstrated was a 7.3 and you used a 7.8 blank so I I wanted to cut a standard blank I would need to order the 7.3 version

    That's a pretty nifty little machine. Cheers for showing us how it works. As you say at first glance it looks really complicated.

    We did a you tube 1st on this tool many years ago video deleted since our new channel,
    It’s a great tool glad to see it back in action & available it disappeared for a few years but seems to be back !
    The decoder key can be hit or miss !
    I’ve never seen one in a 7.3mm as that is very small
    Hopefully BG mean it’s a 7.8mm making it perfect for the average tubular Lock you see around
    There are 3 versions on this tool
    7.00mm 7.5mm & 7.8mm
    7.3 there is a misprint somewhere surly 😀
    Great for decoding locks when picked with the tubular pick & making keys
    Cool vid thanks 👍

      UK Lockpickers I’m using 7.8 mm internal diameter key blanks, the most common ones :-) still works OK for me :-)

    • @uklockpickers
      @uklockpickers 6 лет назад +2

      Lock Noob bang good advertise a 7.3 mm £41 & a 7.8mm £49 & there both the same Tool , hmmm confused 😶
      Anyway ... Good vid pleased to see more of this

    • @LockNoob
      @LockNoob  6 лет назад +2

      UK Lockpickers thing is, .5 mm for a key blank I’m not sure makes a difference in the cutter if you see how it works; it would do in the lock though... maybe I’m wrong, but these are 7.8mm blanks and it seems to work fine. I guess I should have got he 7,8 mm version but I wasn’t thinking when I asked for it :-)

    • @uklockpickers
      @uklockpickers 6 лет назад +2

      Lock Noob obviously makes no difference 👍 & can save £8 ✅

    I have absolutely no use for this tool but great tutorial/review and I like how it not only seems pretty straight forward but does it without power. The measuring seems a bit fiddly though.

    Excellent Tool. All that needs to be done is add an Index mark above Center of the word "KLOM", will will also be in line with other Index. Then Fix the Numbers, Where it has a 6, change to a 1, change the 5 to a 2, change 4 to a 3, 3 to a 4, 2 to a 5, 1 to a 6, and where it says zero, make it a 7. Then it would be Perfect. Can Live with it, May just wrap white around above the numbers, with the corrected numbers, ignore that, wrap over the numbers, leave existing marks. That all I see it needs, Great Value. I have the 7.8. If they sent me the other 2, would gladly accept. Nice work.

    Very cool tool, it is a lot like the "Herty Gerty" tubular key cutter. But the HG cost over £300 but is better made.
    But the amount of use is key to needing the expensive one instead of this kind.
    I myself thank you for the review and I plan on taking advantage of the discount!!!
    Thanks again for the review

    Great video and demonstration. It looks like that is a Klom key cutter. I didn't notice it on the first viewing, but I saw Klom on the decoder key and see them sold on eBay for about $60 USD. I also found quite a few listings for tubular key blanks, one listing has 50 for like $25 that appear to have the time portion made of brass!

    Awesome key cutter and demonstration Ash :), that worked pretty nice. I think it's a bit overshoot for a hobby user 😜, but certainly worth for a professional :). The only other key cutter I heared of was the gerty... ;D. Not sure if 7.3mm is the right size...someone recently told me that 7.8mm locks would be common hmmm ?...and there are 4 versions. Anyway a pretty cool tool :). Thank you for sharing buddy 👍😃🦊.

    • @LockNoob
      @LockNoob  6 лет назад +2

      redcatimaging I’m using 7.8mm Keys in this one :-)

    • @redcatimaging
      @redcatimaging 6 лет назад +2

      That's confusing 🙄 haha. I noticed that the cuts were smaller than on the original key, so maybe it had to do with this, as there are 4 models availiable. But if it works even with the smaller model, that is fine :).

    • @LockNoob
      @LockNoob  6 лет назад +2

      redcatimaging yes, cuts are smaller but I have another key I cut where they are larger... I think it’s because .5mm for a key blank is at manufacturing tolerance anyway? Certainly, the bigger the blank diameter, the _bigger_ the cuts should be since more of the key would be exposed to the cutter. :-) I wish I’d got the 7.8mm cuter instead but I didn’t know it was there...

      See 5:23 :-) unfortunately I have no way of telling how durable it will be, I guess you’d have to use it a lot more than I’m able to do to tell. I found it hard enough to source 4-5 key blanks

    • @RuneInternational
      @RuneInternational 6 лет назад +3

      Lock Noob Think as long as you get real brass blanks, it will work forever. Keep it out of strange china blanks with unknown hardness.

    • @uklockpickers
      @uklockpickers 6 лет назад +4

      Rune International work the machine in a clock wise direction like locknoob was doing .. keep turning it towards the right
      Not right & left ! Or you will decrease the machines life / blade

    • @RuneInternational
      @RuneInternational 6 лет назад +4

      UK Lockpickers and rotate it multible times at lower force, to let it slowly eat away, instead of forcing a 7cut with a 90 degree twist

    • @LockNoob

      It’s a very hard question to answer, genuinely. Most locks of this tripe are either 7.5 or 7.8 but without you measuring the internal diameter of your keys with a micrometer/calliper, I couldn’t tell you which one to go for, sorry :-)

    Horrible experience from banggood they only send the proper stuff to the people that do the reviews because they give it to them for free to do the review so if you're going to order something from there don't be surprised if it's a lower grade or not it at all and shipping fees and the long wait to get your money back if you get your money back.
