When 13 year old Anna Du learned that 150 million tons of plastic are in our oceans, she decided to engineer a solution. The middle school student designs artificially intelligent robots from equipment in her basement to detect microplastics underwater. She’ll be the first to tell you, “the biggest problems are small.”
