  • Musician Reacts to Dos Oruguitas from Disney's Encanto!
Firstly, this might just be the most beautiful song in this entire film! Secondly, I must apologise for all of my attempts at pronouncing things in Spanish throughout this video... I did my best! Anyway, this song was suggested by a viewer and I'm so glad I checked it out as it has got to be one of my favourites.
I thoroughly enjoyed reacting to this song, so do let me know if there are any other videos/songs I should react to in the comments section below!
DISCLAIMER: I do not own the rights to the video or music from "Dos Oruguitas" as this is owned by Disney and the video was taken from DisneyMusicVEVO. The use of this video was used for entertainment purposes.

The way he sings 'Ayy, mariposas!" gives me goosebumps every time

The main theme of 'Dos oruguitas', is that even those who are filled with love for each other sometimes or must separate in order to change and grow. They will return to each other one day, the time apart with be scary and confusing but that is just another part of changing.
As the song continues the lyrics changed to "Ay, mariposas, no se aguanten más" which means "Ay butterflies, don't hold on anymore"
Even now continuing to encourage them to grow apart and move forward. Even though truly I believe this song has not one true meaning for this relationship can be applied in many situations. The song encourages self-growth as well as making room for your loved ones to grow, change will happen and it's better to grow with it than try to hold on and be crushed.

That instrument at 5:30, besides de violin, it’s a harp, that is typical from the Llanos Orientales region in Colombia, and that’s sooo beautiful 😢💕

He really does have an amazing voice! I wouldn’t have given it a proper listen if it weren’t for people suggesting it, and I’m so glad I did 😊

I really like how you know what the song is saying musically but you can not come close to duplicating it even though you’re trying. It’s entertaining but these people are just way more talented. Appreciate you.

Just to add something: the cadence of the song is basically from vallenato music with many pop elements (a style developed by Carlos Vives, who sings the final song of the movie).

If you watch it with subtitles on it translates the lyrics, if you want to get the full impact of the metaphor so it can fully break you. 😅

Someone probably said it, but there's an English version of this that plays during the ending credits.

@@JamaalXMusic it is a metaphor - from caterpillars to butterflies - the process of transformation to become the miracle itself.
In addition, the yellow butterflies are from a book by Gabriel García Marquez (colombian literature Nobel Prize).

I highly recommend reacting to more by Sebastián. I suggest "Falta Amor" which is a duet with Ricky Martin.
Can I also recommend "Inmortal" by Aventura and "Propuesta Indecente" by Romeo Santos - music from the Dominican Republic 💕
