About the platforms that Ihor is talking about, since this video was published a new platform has been released by noise engineering, the Alia one. It can be flashed into a basimilus, Manis and even more. It's very great value.
One of the best eurorack intro guides around. I'll for sure be using these principles to expand what I have so far. Thank you @surco! Any breakdowns of any of the parts of these video's would be great for future video topics. Example: Choosing a oscillator, filter, effect, utility, power source, case etc. Each could be a breakout video. Thanks again!
Many thanks for the information so i start with Moog The DFAM ,Subharmonicon and Mother 32 but i want to dive more in the sytem but its realy difficult so the information in this video is realy great ,Many thanks realy great
Yeah that would be full price if you got everything brand new at the same time. Luckily there is a robust used market, and these systems can be built piece by piece. Also nearly half of that total is from three modules and the case. There are much cheaper cases available and the jobs of those three modules (sequencing, mixer, drums) could be done with external gear to start with. Next video is case layout and build, and the final video is patching and playing live. Thanks so much for watching!
Great vlog Eric, very interesting. Really liked the look of Ihor's small Intellijel rig - looked quite manageable (can feel a stabbing pain in my bank account already). I suppose there are more expensive hobbies but it is a bit of a money pit - as I found out when I first did a Modular Grid spec several years ago. Will definitely check out Ihors stuff though (and yours if you're on)
Sonicindustries, I'm building my Eurorack as an extension to my Behringer Neutron. I'm also trying to figure out how to integrate my existing standalone gear as sound sources and CV sources e.g. my MPC One.
@@sonicindustries227 anything to save money! 😀 A standalone Eurorack would be cool but I couldn't justify the cost unless I was going to earn money with it.
I built my synths out of android apps a Casio keyboard and a digitech pedal board and it serves all my needs without the financial sacrifice. I wish I could afford the stuff you guys have, but now Im just sampling all the sounds I hear and creating from scratch, good times. Any advice on cable quality. I seem to go through cables just as fast as I go through a set of strings.
@@SURCOlive 3 dollar cables from the corner store they are sleeved and braided but not flexible or noiseless if that is a real thing. Im in heaven with the sounds i can make right now, everyting from the last 60 years or plus some other worldy sounds.
Thank you for having me, Eric! It's been fun!

Thanks so much for having me on the video! I enjoy talking about modules with you. I’m looking forward to our next chat!! 🙌🏽
Thank you so much! I can’t wait to chat again too!

Glad you enjoyed it. Working on the next one about layout and build. Thanks so much for watching!
Woah! Your rig cost is.. 5,337 Euros - I rest my case. Hope we'll get to see you create a patch with it Eric

Yeah it’s not cheap. There are definitely ways to manage the costs. Ihor does so much with small spaces. I love his stuff too.

Once I finish this build series, I will be doing some videos on how to integrate with other gear to make things more affordable. Thanks for watching!
@surco
Have you thought about creating a class on skillshare about any number of things you're excellent at?
I have. It’s on my list for sure!
