As a former high speed lift operator for a company based out of DAL. We had a lot of angst about a 3800# reserve. The 737 requires 1800# pounds to cool the respective A and B hydraulic system in each wing to cool the system. We were more comfortable with 5000 to 6000 pound reserve,
@@boeingdriver7375 HaHa... We also didn't like the idea of declaring min fuel, 4000#.. Or emer fuel, 3000# and having to explain to the Chief why we had to.. Lol!
thank you! I have been working on this video extensively for the last couple of days. Its been a fun project! Glad you liked it:) ( I am the narrator of the video btw haha)
On the dispatch release, is the dispatcher always required to give you a 1000lbs extra fuel for any flight? Is there a place somewhere in SWVA where all the minimum fuel requirements are posted?
Sorry ive been busy flying IRL and just now saw this. No. DISP ADD is added at dispatcher’s discretion based off of if they feel the flight will require it. Any time the dispatcher adds ANY additional fuel above Company minimum required fuel policy, as shown below, the diapatcher MUST add a remark regarding the additional fuel and reason for adding the additional fuel, so that the Captain and management are aware (primarily the Captain). Per SWA/SVA policy, the minimum fuel required to be planned for ANY flight at SWA/SVA is the following: CONT/HOLD: no less than 15minutes ALTERNATE: furthest alternate on the release (if an alternate is required for flight) EXTRA: no less than 200 pounds (if no alternate on release) TAXI OUT: no less than 300 pounds for any flight If you use LUVCARS 5 to plan your flight, it will never let you plan less than company minimum required fuel policy. Let me know if you have any questions!
