  • Hey everyone. Steve Milloy here. A new study in the prestigious journal Science just blew away the entire climate hoax. The CNN headline for the study is, “The Great Dying once wiped out 90% of life on Earth. A new theory may explain why.” What’s the “new theory” that wipes out 100% of the climate hoax? It’s our “old” amigo, El Nino.
The study’s media release reads, quote, “Mega ocean warming El Niño events were key in driving the largest extinction of life on planet Earth some 252 million years ago,” end quote. Sounds rally scary. And El Ninos may be so at some point in the future. But what the study does for right now is to put emissions-driven warming in the ashbin of history where it belongs.
The media release continues: quote: “In recent years El Niño events have caused major changes in rainfall patterns and temperature [like] the weather extremes that caused the June 2024 North American heatwave when temperatures were around 15°C hotter than normal. 2023-2024 was also one of the hottest years on record globally due to a strong El Niño in the Pacific,” end quote.
And there you have it. The seemingly weird weather we’ve been experiencing since June 2023 has been caused by El Nino. None of this has anything to do with emissions. If emissions had any effect --and there is no evidence that they do -- they would have only an incremental effect on temperature. But El Nino is what drives the big changes that have been driving temperatures upward.
Recall that global cooling from the 1940s through the 1970s led to concerns of a looming ice age. What brought us out of that cooling period? It was a series of El Ninos that began around 1980 and have continued since. Every time we have a major El Nino, we get a bump in temperature. The largest bumps in warming occurred in 1998, 2015 and last year. Those were all El Ninos. Not emissions-driven warming.
So the new study concludes that El Ninos - which are entirely natural and likely caused by geothermal warming -- can warm things up so much so as to cause mass extinction. If El Ninos can cause mass extinction, they can certainly cause the itty-bitty warming climate hoaxers imagine we‘ve experienced since the 1980s. Stay up with the latest on the climate hoax.
