      It’s a bit odd statement about minoxidil. It does not revive anything. It just make the growth cycle longer. Giving the appearance of more and thicker hair. The Hairloss continues. Even finasteride do not so often revive hair but that at least stops or halts the Hairloss more or less

      @HairLineChannel I don't get it.
      Publications (don't ask me to search for it, please) found out you can have an intake of finasteride of 25% (one day on, three day off) if I remeber correctly. So why didn't you at least decrease the finasteride dosage? I mean: you received a HT!
      Plus: the dosage of the drug must be related to your testosterone level (less testosterone, less DHT), so you could have decreased the dosage even more.

    I think the fact you have documented the process is good but after hundreds of hours researching HT's I came to the conclusion if you aren't willing to take Fin for the rest of your life don't bother having the transplant, your basically moving hair that isn't effected by DHT into an area of your scalp full of hair that is, if you don't block/stop the DHT your non transplanted hair is just going to continue to fall out leaving all your transplanted hair in place and you back to the same problem you started with but worse.

    • @vivalaskelton

      The better option is never start taking the medicine actually. Surgeons can’t tell whether the hair already on your hair is your original hair or hair maintained/gained by medicine. They can only transplant around hair that is there, that is why it gets bad if you stop taking. People should never take in the first place.

      I was considering a HT in Turkey and the £2k clinics gave me the usual speil about 80% coverage, yada yada. Then I spoke to Koray Erdogans practice, his assistant informed me I wasn't a suitable candidate because my doner area was minitiurising and I would have to be on Fin for at least 6 months before any surgery and then forever afterwards. I didn't want to touch this stuff so decided against it
      Someone might be on Fin for years before getting sides and might have to reluctantly give it up and potentially risk looking worse. Being bald is better than being bald with a HT 😢

What I have learned from this video is that the actual hair transplant is not the end of the problem but the start of a lifetime battle against baldness requiring the regular ingestion of powerful and expensive medications and hormones that are sure to create imbalances and side effects. Looking at it from the financial perspective, I would imagine this is going to be a long term drain on resources too. It's a pity hats are no longer fashionable, I think a nice Fedora looks great on a well dressed guy.

      @@cihicihiI used Minoxidil for 3 years. Started when I was 26, at a NW1.5.
      I started Brazilian Ju Jitsu, which, for those who don't know, is cardio intensive, to say the least. I noticed during training sessions, my vision would get blurry, often times darkness encroaching from my peripheral vision. I attributed this, my pulmonary ventricular contractions (PVCs) and palpations, to Minoxidil usage.
      With those symptoms in mind, I stopped using Minoxidil at 29. First month wasn't so bad, only minor shedding. The above symptoms noticebly improved though! By the second month, I was shedding FAST. Probably at a NW 3, with heavy temple recession. I buzzed my hair shortly after so I didn't have to watch my hairline's devastation, lol. I continues to notice loss in the subsequent months. Jump to today. 30 years old, a NW 3.5 or 4, diffuse thinning and it's quite noticable to all but the blind and short.
      I'm Heavily considering just buzzing it off again, since I'm making balding a much bigger deal than it really is. I'm in a relationship, everyone sees that I'm losing my hair and pharmaceutical intervention in the form of finastride/dutastride isn't worth it. I'd rather be balding than have ED or depression or whatever other side effects occur from DHT suppression.
      To make a long story short, stopping Minoxidil will cause the user to lose all gains. It won't cause hairs that would not have otherwise been lost, to fall out. Only those dependant on Minoxidil. It's a life long commitment and not worth anchoring knew confidence and stress to; in my opinion, of course.

    • @roncerjani9063
      @roncerjani9063 7 месяцев назад +4

      @@HairLineChannelThat's what the usual "strengthen your donor hair before the transplant for better results" will do to you. Finasteride before HT made his hair thicker including donor, he transplanted then on his head, then with Finasteride gone, thickness went along with it. Also, thicker hair make it much harder to pinpoint where DHT sensitive and non-sensitive areas are, so the surgeon most likely transplanted some hair from the DHT sensitive area as well, which eventually fell off.
      That's why you should either do Finasteride for the rest of your life, or not do it at all, transplant or not. All those using Finasteride pre-transplant are making things more difficult for the surgeon, since everyone is a good candidate for HT when on Finasteride. That's like measuring your muscle at the gym when you're on a pump, then blaming the gym that you're not as muscular when the pump goes away.

  • @rsmith9094
    @rsmith9094 7 месяцев назад +3

    Good video. Results after 1st transplant looked ok, but after 2nd it looked good! How many grafts in total for both?? Now a few observations re: video ... 1) You noticed your hair get greasier after stopping finasteride ... that would be expected since DHT stimulates oil glands. 2) You most definitely don't need to take finasteride to maintain your transplanted hair ... they won't disappear if you don't take finasteride, though they might not be quite a healthy without finasteride. 3) The donor zone isn't immune to androgenic alopecia, its resistant (and to a large degree). 4) 1 mg finasteride blocks about 70% of serum DHT, but 0.2 mg blocks 62%! Its not linear. So you can take a MUCH smaller dose and block almost as much DHT.

  • @erkii
    @erkii 5 месяцев назад +2

    Thanks for the video. But there's wrong information here: the transplanted hair are not affected by DHT - so they will remain permanently. The hair you see falling out, is your original hair that you had before they filled it in. IF the procedure is done accurately, (which it was) those transplanted hairs would be forever

  • @YocoWheelin

    The hair you have noticed thinning was more than likely not the transplanted hair. Your old hair not yet effected by dht (as much) has increased. Hopping back on it will stop that, and bring a little of it back. In my experience at least. Still think hair looks good, congrats!

    Have experimented myself after having a 3000 graft transplant and took fin for 1 year @ 3mg per week (with no sides) and had an incredible result! Then I stopped completely to see what happened and after 4 months my hair was noticeable thinner and more see through. Started back on it @ 2mg per week and a noticeable thickness to hair again. I saw a video recently talking about a study where they took fin for 12 months @ 1mg per day, then reduced it to 1mg PER MONTH and they saw virtually NO reduction in hair loss gained/preserved from the fin. My suggestion is to use it in moderation (maybe 2-3mg per week rather than 1mg per day) then slowly reduce it to 1mg per week, then 1mg per month and monitor results. Stopping completely will affect hair in most cases. Also, make sure to not use any chemicals, hair spray, gels, waxes, etc or 'normal' shampoo's on your hair, wash with warm water daily (and rinse with cold at the end) and once per week use an organic raw egg yolk to wash your hair. I add a very tiny amount of tallow to my hair every few days, gives it a lovely shine and needs no hair products at all. I blame part of my initial hair loss on the over use of chemical hair products for about 15 years. Also consume collagen powder daily, beef gelatin daily, zinc, biotin every 2 days, eat eggs and meat and highly nutritional food, avoid PUFA's and additives etc, get plenty of good sleep, and also try to avoid STRESS as much as possible. Good luck with those precious hair follicles, my brothers.

    I had no hair on top. I had some transplants done and was never told that I should take finasteride because I was told it was supposedly life time hair from the back that wasn’t affected like the other hair. It was looking pretty good, but in about 3-4 years later most of it has fallen out and no none of it was already existing hair that was falling out because they eventually would since there was no finasteride.

    Ok this is the opposite for me I been taking finasteride, biotin, and minoxidil when I had my hair transplant 6 months ago. They only did the front area and left the back since it wasn't that bad but now only fhe transplanted hair looks like it stayed and from shock loss my hair got worse other than the transplanted hair. I feel if I stop taking everything would it get worse? I feel like doing it again for the back area now but I am not sure why they couldn't do the whole top not just front. It made no sense to me but they thought I might of not had enough to fill the top but my top of my head is narrow and didn't have a big area to fill. I had like a reverse mohalk of where i was thinning and i still had hair not bald. It seems worse from shock loss. I am hoping finasteride keeps it from falling out and it regrows in the areas that fell out. I am not getting side effects from finasteride at all. If I were to have a kid i would stop for a few months. I feel like I still do lose some of the new hair in the shower but like 2 transplanted hairs not much. If I stopped taking would it be more that is why I am worried about.

      What are you actually talking about? Finastride has a molecular weight of 370 Daltons. Your skin wont pass almost anything over 500 Daltons. So if you are taking Finastride even in topical form regularly, it passes through your skin just fine and eventually accumulates in your body, so you have literally the same effect of taking a pill. The only difference is that your hair is greasy from Propilane Glycol every day, thats it

    To tell you the truth I don't notice too much of a difference between the point you stopped taking finasteride and 1 year after. I imagined the thinning would have been much worse. Also, consider switching to dutasteride (brand name Avodart) instead of finasteride if you ever do decide to get back on a DHT blocker. It's a more powerful medication and has worked so much better for me at slowing down my hair loss compared to finasteride. Other than that, congrats on the new baby!

      And to be fair, hair transplant requires a skill to also plant these hairs in a way to look natural and also achieve an ok density. It's a great illusion of full head, but in truth the overall amount stays the same, surgery only redistributes from back to front. You will never get back a juvenile hairline of 15 year old, but it's not really a problem - recession and mature hairline is fine, maybe it will leave more donor to fill the middle and give more density, instead of spreading it all over and then be dissapointed like guy from the video.

      I agree. I choose the bald look. Currently shaving my head. I am considering laser on my head one day.

    Thanks for making a important video, this you have to take finasteride for lifelong or there is a limit to it

      You have to take finasteride for as long as you want hair.

      @@icarus2k Sir What about minoxidil, The person who use have to use it for lifetime or there is a time when it ends after 1 year or 3year

      @Kapildev_N._Pol Every day for rest of life but I would say minoxidil is worse because it only helps hair to grow, it does not stop male pattern baldness. Until you block the DHT with something like finasteride the male pattern baldness will continue.

      @@Kapildev_N._Pol No problem brother, if you ever decide to start I suggest finasteride first, because it becomes routine to take one small pill per day and only takes 5 seconds. Good luck

    Maybe one minoxidil is enough?

    Such a shame, unfortunately this is a typical 'botched' hair transplant
