Though land of lustrous has a slow start you’ll start to realize it’s really easy to tell when a Manga or anime has potential from the first chapter/episode or two. It set up so many mysteries and questions, had unique concepts, and even though what it evolves into is very different from where we start, that’s the pointS you gotta give some things a chance. Let the intriguing parts carry you through
@@BlueTempest absolutely! I really try to make a push for people to give it a chance, especially since it'll probably never have the help of a great anime adaptation
this guy has like, the exact same taste in manga that I do. He's got the chainsaw man on there, the shuzo oshimi, punpun, and land of the lustrous? That's crazy.
You should read Usogui, its a manga about illegal gambling in japan and is my fav series and it has 550 chapters and 49 volumes and it is one of the craziest thriller mind game series i have ever read Also, amazing video
I’ve heard some good things, may have to check it out at some point although I have so much already on my TBR so maybe I’ll wait to see if it ever gets released in English 😅
Togashi is simply the GOAT. The art being occasionally sketchy because of his crippling back pain is nothing compared to the phenomenal panels and art that he HAS created throughout his entire career. And I haven't even mentioned YuYu Hakusho and how good it is asw... I rest my case
Goodnight Punpun is my top 1 too! Edit: here's my top 10 incase it's place ro pick recommendations from: Goodnight Punpun Innocent Rouge The Climber Homunculus Innocent Berserk Girls' Last Tour Bibliomania Land of the Lustrous One Piece
Saw Oshimi in the thumbnail and clicked. I just ordered all of inside mari from rightstufs holiday sale! Pretty hype to start reading it; it seems pretty underrated.
"Astra Lost in Space" is interesting among Kenta Shinohara's series because, unlike "Sket Dance" and "Witch Watch", this series A) has a coherent story line and B) seems to put much less emphasis on comedic elements.
great list! glad to hear you enjoyed the end of inside mari, i've been waiting to hear more thoughts on the series since it is finally finished physically, it is definitely my favorite of his works
Great list. Flowers of Evil is in my top spot for sure. It resonated with me and was a page turner. Waiting on inside mari volume 9! I want to check out Land of the lustrous in the future.
@@BlueTempest the anime had such an unorthodox animation style but everything about it WON me over when it first came out. Gave me steven universe alternate reality energy
I've been a fan of Oshimi Shuzo ever since I read Inside Mari about a year ago. Even though his series are amazing they are the only ones that I physically cannot binge because my heart literally can't handle it. I'm reading Chi No Wadachi right now and it's a struggle but it's amazing. I see you put Aku No Hana at number 2 so I'll try to pick it up again. But I'll admit the art at the beginning did turn me off a bit And great list btw!
Thank you so much! Yeah I know Oshimi works are kinda hard to swallow at some points but you should definitely give Flowers of Evil another chance because trust me it gets better the more you get into it.
Thanks for the list. But I think a “trigger warning” is an actual warning about a possible trigger. But who knows, I’m not the wokest of wokes in this wokeworld.
I have collected all of Video Girl Ai, just gotta read it. And I’ve read a few vols of Strawberry 100% and really enjoyed it so I hope to complete my set of that next year!
You should try Kokou no Hito, atleast check out the panels, the artwork is stunning and the story is unique And i love Les Fleurs du Mal too, one of my favs too, 100% in my top 3 And what about Vagabond :(
I’ve been wanting to get into Kokou no Hito for so long but I’m holding out for (hopefully) a future English release! And I haven’t read Vagabond yet, I just completed by Vizbigs set so Im planning to read it sometime this year!
All arcs are insanely good. They are all unique and complete a dark middle age fantasy. Golden Age is my favourite as well but saying it going downhill is too harsh Imo.

It’s so under appreciated!

Kingdom is my #1 and I even found the first 3 vols in English from Malaysia.. Could be fake. But it should be in Yr top 5

Not usually known for horror, but Inio Asano’s Nijigahara Holograph is haunting.

I don't know what everyone sees in Goodnight Punpun.
Us bro it's so boring
bro on my life, oyasumi punpun fuck up my lifee. still glad i read it
considering your other favorites, surpirised no Vinland Saga

I would read Blue Flag but I don’t want to read a manga with LGBTQ characters
Why not?

Chainsaw Man might be the most overrated manga of all-time.. imo obviously..
