I have a question regarding the contracts that appear on the dashboard, aren't there a maximum of 5 contracts per trade?
Yes, but 5 contracts is huge volatility. You would really never need more than that imo and if you did take larger size than that, it would be bad risk management imo for the base 50k combine.
How much do you risk for 100k topstep to get funded?

I don't understand the point of a cushion if the drawdown is being trailed?
Because it will avoid general drawdowns and allow larger sized trades with less risk of hitting daily max.
