The first pattern I saw that I found out was made by Doug had me on a 6 hour deep dive into all things Doug. I searched every book, pattern, runner, or project that even had him tagged in it. I fell in love with his designs and I really like his eye for color and shapes. I was gifted some of his books for Christmas and I have a few things left on my wish list for upcoming Mother's Day and other holidays. I love chatsworth and think it is just gorgeous so I am using Bunny Hill Designs fabric Blueberry Delight by A. Sutton. So great to have a show with Doug featured.

I really enjoyed listening to Doug talk about all the different aspects of quilting. I remember trying so hard to have everything 'perfect ' & Also not feeling like I could say I am a 'quilter' because I could not quilt my quilt & paid to have it done. I even bought a quilting machine and frame. I learned that I didn't enjoy the 'quilting' process. I now enjoy piecing my tops & send out for the quilting. I have been able to complete many projects once I freed myself from having to quilt my own quilts. I started quilting early '90s... Happy Stitchin

I'll be the first to admit that Doug is one of the best pattern designers out there, but I also hope everyone doesn't run out and purchase a serger. All you need to pre-wash is to zig-zag down the cut sides. Easy Peasy and less expensive. :)

Doug, thank you for mentioning the importance of how pressing matters. Pressing open at times is so important, for example on an eight-pointed star. If they are not pressed open, it is impossible for the longarm hopping foot to go over that.
