I have tip for 5:09! Verb tense in the answer will always match the clue. There is an exception however, when a clue says a verb in tense like “plotting” it could also refer to an adjective like “devious”. Great solve!
Excellent solve today, I came in at 12:36 . You’re getting better just have little confidence going into the later puzzles of the week, might seem slower but take time the first time through and don’t give up on a clue before digesting it a little.
Funny that you made a mistake in your verb tense in a word that crossed USAGE! You did great on today’s! Keep on learning those crosswords. (ALTO often shows up in relation to SAX, so that’s one to tuck away in you memory)
Escellent Monday Crossword! I was very very slow because it was late at night. At the end I had to use checks to find four incorrect letters. Mocktails WTH? You really know your drinks!
Another note , today marks the return of Will Shortz Editing the Xword after recovering from a double stroke. You will see a little more sharply clued clues going forward.

You got a sports clue! haha :) No looking up, no grid check, great job today!

I saw that afterwards! I'm so happy he's feeling well enough to return!
Nice one! You are getting there a little bit at a time 👍
Shout out to Alberta! Lol
