Congratulations to Team Blush for this bold short-film with an excellent social message ! I've lived in Gujarat for many years (many moons ago !) and the fact that promiscuous sexual relations spike among the youth during the Navratri garba/dandiya revelry has been an open secret for a long time now. There's some survey which corroborates this from the sharp spike in condom sales in the region during the period. So, in that context, this short-film gives out a very good message urging the youth to practice safe sex. I suspect many Hindus, esp. Gujaratis may take offense to this short-film for supposedly giving their traditional festival a "bad name", but that's not the intention of this film, and nor is promiscuity going away during the Navratri revelry anytime soon. Let's learn to accept the facts and take the essence of the film positively, instead of going after Team Blush. An ostrich-like approach won't change anything.
I agree with you. This video doesn't give the festival a bad name, only highlights the situation. But I feel they could have chosen different songs, something which was neutral. And not used these ones which have been traditionally used during dandiya . Sex education can still be done effectively while respecting traditions.
@@shreyamishra916 Well, you are right it if it's just about sex education. But, I believe Team Blush posted this just around Navratri and used those songs to imply promiscuity during this particular festival. So, it wasn't about sex education in general, but to urge Navratri revellers safe sex during the period.
@@ramesh_iyer I understand, but I think they could have done without these particular Garba songs per se. At the end they rightly put up placards that highlighted the issue. So I think any other song would have been equally impactful. One can dandiya to casual filmy songs too, which they could've used.
