Those handle bars are for the High Mobility Form (1 Shield booster on each arm + on the back for maximum thrust): vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/gundam/images/e/eb/Rx-121-hm.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20120812112551 In this form the Hazel holds onto those handle bars because of the stress that the powerful shield boosters induce on the arms (which were *not* made with high performance boosters in mind) Additionally, that's a multipurpose rack, so instead of handlebars they could also house a "multipurpose launcher" with small rockets, smoke dischargers,... Great paintjob :D
I think aside from having the Mk 2 innerframe and a very few color-separated parts, the HG is just as good as the MG and in some way exceeds it. That HG kit is THAT good.
And trust me, I do not have many HG's because I like my MS to be detailed and solid, and the HG is both. It was this kit that has changed my mind from avoiding HG's
Dude, your Hazel turned out great! I am a bit disappointed that the Magic Toys version outshines Bandai's in regards to color separation, but from the looks of things it makes up for it by both being fairly easy to touch up and all around having much better articulation. Hopefully Gentei doesn't shaft me on this.
RUclips isn't letting me edit my comment, but I wanted to add that if people wanted to go with the Magic Toys version they may not be able to. Apparently it's no longer in production.
Great Weathering And Paint Work. You Mention Testors Paint At One Point, Did You Use Them Exclusively? Enamel Or Acrylic? Thank You For Your Reply In Advance.
bro, this paintjob and build looks so amazing. respect to you once again sir. like i said youre def one of my favorite reviewers youre def up there with the old heads. youre the underdog of the gunpla scene and i really love your builds and reviews man!
Hello I been asking all RUclips's channels about the same question. It's before you buy. Like would it work if I mix mk2 white gundam parts like the shoulders and skirts ect with the hazel? I was thinking of buying a extra hazel and mk2 white gundam that's why.
Jesse Clary thanks for response, yeah I think it should work. I did abit of researching on the parts. There abit similar. They look like MG quel parts but there not, there a new mold 2.0 ver. Just wondering since I don't have a hazel yet but a mk2 though.
I have a few minor gripes with it, most of them due to reusing the frame of the MK II. First off the the proportions, it looks elongated and less stubby like it normally is. Another thing is that it's tall as well, and not really 1/100 scale. I must say from what it seems, the Magic Toys' Hazel is the best option in my honest opinion as of yet due to it's superior parts separation in areas and it's overall accuracy, too bad it's impossible to get.
I notice less inconsistencies with the MagicToys myself, the front skirt's squares is minor, but the chest does look small. But the stubby aesthetic overall I feel fits the Hazel's design a bit more, and it doesn't look elongated in a weird way that also makes it taller than it should be, which is one of my main gripes of Bandai's Hazel.
Bandai are hitting a problem in that there's a lot of downward price pressure on kits (they're making them faster than we can build them), so P-Bandai's has become an approach to help keep prices stable. It looks like they're toning it down for Q1 2018 but I'd expect the current trend to continue until the market refuses to accept it (which would probably lead to more drastic measures).
I think they probably designed this MG like 10 years ago and had postponed its release until the design of the parts are too outdated to fit the current standard, so they put it in P-Bandai for those who still really want it.
If it gives you hope about a regular Hazel, the MG GM Command Space Type is a P-Bandai but its Colony Type counterpart is a regular release, so yeah, we MIGHT have a regular Hazel variant. Anyway, I appreciate your insights about this kit. Mine is still en route. I snagged the bootleg Hazel previously, disregarding the quality of the parts (ugh, the clear green parts are terrible IMO) detail wise it's good and can use Bandai LEDs, but I think its details are "inconsistent". To its detriment the articulation is subpar, and the arms like to fall off a lot.
Jesse Clary the one thing people tend to forget is that Bandai is a Japanese company and their main target is the Japanese market. If it's not popular in Japan, you can be sure it's not going to be made or it's going to be a P-Bandai.
yeah, japanese sure have a weird taste. i got annoyed when the 1st make the Ver ka wing into a regular release and make other Endless Waltz OVa into P-Bandai, screw you bandai
I really miss your updates, but I hope you're living the good life 👍👍👍
Looks awesome
my god.. that weathering job is so beautiful !

The flip-up handle things are for the High Mobility mode. Its supposed to bend the arms up and grab them, like a hang glider.
Yeah, it's silly.
Those yellow bars are hand grips and Hazel Custom uses them when it has sheild boosters on both its arms.

Jesse Clary Do you find that one works better then the other ?
Jesse Clary Thank you for the reply. Going to pick up some Testors acrylic paint and give it a go. Any thoughts on spray painting Gunpla?
Jesse Clary Thank you for your replies
Where can i order this kit?

The hrududu backpack for this hazel will be released!
I still dont get why people complain about P-Bandai or exclusives. It's not like the internet doesnt exist or anything.
Fellow Collector.........excellent review & amazing weathering done here. Great job. Kit is in transit....looking forward to building.
No one beats old school

"if you want more detail, you might want to go with the magic toys hazel". Yeah, except they are impossible to find.

TBF the MK II 2.0 was way ahead of it's time.
Beautiful!
Oh, and the yellow bars on the top of the chest are for use to stabilize the mobile suit if it uses its shield boosters.
hey, did you fully paint it or just some touch ups and weathering
its looks amazing man , thnx for the reply =} . going to do the same on a Assaultshroud , i painted the armor parts a dark grey tho.
Does the front crotch extend out like the HG version for future attachments?
Awesome build too, especially the weathering
Good stuff my man! I'm a big fan of naoki aswell!
Great paint job!
Oh man! It's the exact same decal sheet you get in the High Grade... That is disappointing! You've done a good job weathering the kit. Looks great!
Not sure I want to buy A mg that requires a paint brush or stickers. Kinda put me off.
Most of them have. Plus, it's the joy of being a builder. The kit suck? You make it better.
Joeie Rivera i kinda agrer but it means its old from the box :). Just not my type of kit im afraid. Seem lines should not even be a thing nowadays :).

The reason this kit is P-Bandai is because the AoZ series is not popular in Japan.
