Yeah I noticed a few errors like that. When showing the High self spear men the hand clips through the shield. My bet is that they were a little lax on that sort of stuff because for the most part players aren’t really gonna be that close to each unit.

@Hauke Holst No need to send them first, 2-3 idols might provide a Leadership stack and that might help with Immortal bannered Black Orks and the whole army in general. I see a second advantage there, since also battle Waagh increases with melee clash, they can be useful for battle waaghs as well.
Fedyx 1 i can forgive the chainmail because chainmail is like the nightmare of every 3D Artist because it moves really difficult to animate, and I assume in their range of budget and saving on requirements to run smoothly they simplified it like that

When it comes to chariots the hidden stats are especially important. Hitbox, unit mass, max number of targets hit per attack. If those things have been dialed up the new HE chariot would be much better than the old chariots.

The war lions are a little surprising, I was expecting anti-large cause you know lions hunt large prey, not anti-infantry (so like skin wolves), but anti-infantry and armor makes it sound like they can hunt dwarfs and rear charge black orcs for extra damage with them, pretty interesting.

I could see Imrik working with the Talons of Tor Caleda and a fire wizard if the effects stack. That's 22% from Imrik, 22% from the Talons and 22% from Kindleflame and an additional 25% if the target has regeneration.
I can imagine a pretty decent orc comp with Grimgore bringing black orcs and other tough infantry grom bringing tons of war machines and other cav like units and Wurrzag bringing savage boz and rogue idols
i love the synergy potential on the archers. lots of fire damage options to combo with now. also my god the new phoenix has the prettiest model iv ever seen.
For Warhammer fans such as myself, it is awesome to see Chrace finally getting their famed Lion Chariots and also iconic LLs such as Imrik and Eltharion, complete with their own specific mechanics that are extremely respectful of what they were in the original lore. Also, we finally get the Archmage, which is a staple of the tabletop version and whose absence was odd to say the least in the High Elf roster up to now.
I'm so jealous of all the toys Greenskins are getting. Well I guess we ought to wait for TW3 for Dawi to get cool stufflike Thunderbarge, Rune Golems, Rune Guardians and maybe even Shard Dragons.

The four new mages for the high elves mean they will have the biggest magic variety in the game, and since the high elves already have one of the best magic in the game, they will be the best magic faction. Not to mention, we now have rangers which can now allow rush builds for the high elves. And the silverine guard are just a straight upgrade.
SirKnight I don’t think rangers are going to open up rush builds as they currently are. Those stats are terrible and they’re overly expensive for what they offer. Looks like a forgettable unit that won’t get taken tbh

@@MarieAvora That has happened far too many times, both under my execution and someone else's. I once had a Franz that killed Alarielle and an accompanying Star Dragon and live to tell the tale. In multiplayer, I do believe he's the best choice for the empire. It all depends on MD- he's sometimes shot to pieces, but if he gets into melee, few can stand before his senatorial might.
This seems like it will be a really cool dlc. I tried the green skins a couple times before, but found the campaigns somewhat lackluster compared to most other races. It will be fun to try them again. Also, those new elves unit look rather sick. Think I'll give them a revisit as well
Comparing wood elves to high elves now is just ridiculous , like they had a bigger roster in the table top already, combine that with a bunch of new units (elite spears and swords unit) including one from seemingly from the forge world monstrous arcanum (the bigger scarier phoenix). In addition they have taken a significant portion of the wood elf roster with Averlon's forest spirits. And they haven't even included more than two wood elf characters. It's crazy. Combining that with missing non-named hero options and no magic user lords, way more limited magic than the tabletop, and fewer mounts, it's a lot. Sorry one grumpy asrai tabletop player

Now that all the main factions are all complete, the dlc factions are lacking in my opinion and I feel that they are all in need of a big update hopefully with Kislev.
@icedan 115 Kislev is 90% guaranteed to be in game 3 while beastmen and wood elves are the only races that I see need an update ASAP the rest are fine.
Clan Moulder is still needed to complete the Skaven. And there are other factions that need a campaign re-work, most notably Wood Elves. But yeah, most rosters are near-complete.
Kislev is coming almost 100% in game 3, I don't think there will be any more DLC factions for game 2. I believe there will be one more lord pack? Not sure about that one.
Can't wait to start up a dwarf campaign and see that big ol' pile of rocks. Could be something actually intimidating from the greenskins. Although, they might just flop under some range pressure due to that crippling slow speed combined with a slow.
With those High Elf additions, I think Empire needs more heavy infantry that can hold the line. There's Eldard's Spearmen but they've pretty pricey and Empire doesn't have a heavy halberdier unit.
Obscure stuff like arcane phoenixes, silverin guard, rogue idol (still cool that one), rangers and stupid feral lions but still no Sky Cutter or Soear Chukka? I have no idea what their priorities are!
Keen to know what the start positions are. It's a must buy for me. One thing I'm kinda sad about is the ersatz dragon mage which I think Cataph did better. It's missing decent armour. There's also a mod that which includes the talons of Tor Caleda and they have a high rate of fire and armour piercing missile damage which makes them a lot more powerful. I really hope now that there's medium infantry (rangers and silverin guard) they can make white lions actually good elite infantry.
Hi Zerkovich (and viewers) I am currently playing greenskins in Mortal Empires as Grimgor. I have reached turn 60 and found out there were a bunch of DLC units I didn't have. So now I have bought DLC and tons of new units are now available. However this makes me wonder what is a good army composition for late game as the greenskins? Currrently my army is based on: 1 unit of black orcs with Immortulz banner. A bunch of heroes with Confident/disciplined trait to boost leadership - including a goblin and orc shaman. The rest are black orc big bosses and goblin big boss. I have 1 doomdiver and 2 rock lobber catapults. I have 4 night goblin archers (1 is regiment of reknown) And Big'uns for the remaining slots. So I am thinking that by end game, I should have more black orcs in my army and that I should hire a Rogue Idol. What else? Should I remove the night goblin archers? What about the rock lobbers? Thanks to anyone who takes their time to try and respond.
Sadly there are some missed opportunities here. For one the rangers should've gotten a dagger/shorter sword for their off hand (merely aesthetically), dual full length swords alwas look insanely impractical. Secondly it's kind of a shame that the Lion chariot isn't good in melee (for a chariot). The high elves have no melee cav, so the lion chariot could have filled that role a bit. If a chariot can be good in melee, it's the one pulled by lions, who's features are described as horse-like size, fur as hard as mail and teeth and claws with the hardness and sharpness of daggers or swords. Thirdly all the storm of magic and monstrous arcanum creatures (Dread Saurian, Necrofex Collosus, Arcane phoenix and rogue idol as of now, technically ferals too IIRC) could be a bit more interesting and stronger (for the same price) or cheaper if they'd permanently leech of magic (or rather reduce WoM regen). Honestly army building could be a lot more interesting if there were more limitations beyond cost and unit cap. Things like this or removing some ferals (thus tying certain monsters to secondary capabilities and/or lords and heroes. Dragons for instance can only come with lords or fire casters in TT) might free up some design space in the units themselves.
I find it strange that Rogue Idols aren't unbreakable... I'm trying to wrap my head around the concept of a giant chunk of magic rock thinking 'Aw zog, da boyz is runnin' away! I betta run too!'
well its pretty much a personification of the greenskins in a way to running away is pretty accurate since greenskins are pretty well known for retreating.. and then returning in greater number later

that rogue idol will get nerfed for sure lol. about stormwing i personally think for his backside a white tiger (similar to deathclaw) would be far better fitting than a leopard since even Rahagra's Pride has this pattern. if it's just me or why does Imrik looks far more special and unique and Eltharion?... and idk if this has to be but rivertrolls noses should be the same like all other trolls like the rocktrolls have imho :/ but that Omen of Asuryan is beautiful! - so all in all i hope there will be mods to adjust this
Well you have to look at it from a fantasy point of view. High elves are supposed to have near god like balance/poise and dexterity. For example the swordmasters of hoeth were said to be so dexterous and efficient in combat that it almost seemed as if they were performing a deadly dance, forming a wall of steel with a 6-11 ft blade as he attacks and defends simultaneously. With that being known, it's easy to imagine an elf using a spear in combat while simultaneously defending and attacking with a sword...which by the way it's also said that high elf weapons are made of light weight material, there's a name for that kind of steel but I don't remember what it was.
Wait... Those are not snotlings. Snotlings use fungus as weapons because snotlings are so tiny that they can use mushrooms as clubs... Those show are just lowly small Gobbos is disguise. :-( Super cool that they implemented them still.
The last 2 minutes showcase the battle as epic, as DLC trailer itself. Nice video. The only ones misising are campaign RoR units, especially high elves, presumably riding griffins or great eagles (Knights of Tor Gaval). Are they available in custom battle under "capaign-only' tab, and are special elven knights ride griffins, eagles, or both?
I think I prefer Imrik over Eltharion (btw, I know Eltharion has a huge helmet and all but does his head look too big for his body? His face is huge - the model looks like Dawn of War 1 models lol) I like the Hag and Swamp Fings. Grom? His model appears to be too big for a goblin, even a fat one. He just looks and sounds too much like an orc. Lions look cool but I thought they'd have more combat staying power rather than just be jacked up war hounds. Disappointed we got more phoenixes instead of skycutter chariots, what a missed opportunity. All in all, looks ok for $10 but I would have payed a lot more for a lot more.

@@MarieAvora That has happened far too many times, both under my execution and someone else's. I once had a Franz that killed Alarielle and an accompanying Star Dragon and live to tell the tale. In multiplayer, I do believe he's the best choice for the empire. It all depends on MD- he's sometimes shot to pieces, but if he gets into melee, few can stand before his senatorial might.
This seems like it will be a really cool dlc. I tried the green skins a couple times before, but found the campaigns somewhat lackluster compared to most other races. It will be fun to try them again. Also, those new elves unit look rather sick. Think I'll give them a revisit as well
Need to have the grimmest of battles with a three way ffa between eltharion, volkmar, and grimgor.
It also gives Teclis an Arcane Phoenix as a mount.

Comparing wood elves to high elves now is just ridiculous , like they had a bigger roster in the table top already, combine that with a bunch of new units (elite spears and swords unit) including one from seemingly from the forge world monstrous arcanum (the bigger scarier phoenix). In addition they have taken a significant portion of the wood elf roster with Averlon's forest spirits. And they haven't even included more than two wood elf characters. It's crazy. Combining that with missing non-named hero options and no magic user lords, way more limited magic than the tabletop, and fewer mounts, it's a lot.

Now that all the main factions are all complete, the dlc factions are lacking in my opinion and I feel that they are all in need of a big update hopefully with Kislev.
@icedan 115 Kislev is 90% guaranteed to be in game 3 while beastmen and wood elves are the only races that I see need an update ASAP the rest are fine.

Clan Moulder is still needed to complete the Skaven. And there are other factions that need a campaign re-work, most notably Wood Elves. But yeah, most rosters are near-complete.
Kislev is coming almost 100% in game 3, I don't think there will be any more DLC factions for game 2. I believe there will be one more lord pack? Not sure about that one.

Can't wait to start up a dwarf campaign and see that big ol' pile of rocks. Could be something actually intimidating from the greenskins. Although, they might just flop under some range pressure due to that crippling slow speed combined with a slow.

With those High Elf additions, I think Empire needs more heavy infantry that can hold the line. There's Eldard's Spearmen but they've pretty pricey and Empire doesn't have a heavy halberdier unit.

So I've looked at Imrik's face. He's apparently played by Rami Malek.
Keen to know what the start positions are. It's a must buy for me. One thing I'm kinda sad about is the ersatz dragon mage which I think Cataph did better. It's missing decent armour. There's also a mod that which includes the talons of Tor Caleda and they have a high rate of fire and armour piercing missile damage which makes them a lot more powerful. I really hope now that there's medium infantry (rangers and silverin guard) they can make white lions actually good elite infantry.

I am currently playing greenskins in Mortal Empires as Grimgor.
I have reached turn 60 and found out there were a bunch of DLC units I didn't have.
So now I have bought DLC and tons of new units are now available.
However this makes me wonder what is a good army composition for late game as the greenskins?
Currrently my army is based on: 1 unit of black orcs with Immortulz banner.
A bunch of heroes with Confident/disciplined trait to boost leadership - including a goblin and orc shaman. The rest are black orc big bosses and goblin big boss.
I have 1 doomdiver and 2 rock lobber catapults.
I have 4 night goblin archers (1 is regiment of reknown)
And Big'uns for the remaining slots.
So I am thinking that by end game, I should have more black orcs in my army and that I should hire a Rogue Idol. What else?
Should I remove the night goblin archers? What about the rock lobbers?

I think you forgot about the 30% missile resist and 25% magic resist that makes them far more survivable against archers than the other troll kinds.
Sadly there are some missed opportunities here.
For one the rangers should've gotten a dagger/shorter sword for their off hand (merely aesthetically), dual full length swords alwas look insanely impractical. Secondly it's kind of a shame that the Lion chariot isn't good in melee (for a chariot). The high elves have no melee cav, so the lion chariot could have filled that role a bit. If a chariot can be good in melee, it's the one pulled by lions, who's features are described as horse-like size, fur as hard as mail and teeth and claws with the hardness and sharpness of daggers or swords.
Thirdly all the storm of magic and monstrous arcanum creatures (Dread Saurian, Necrofex Collosus, Arcane phoenix and rogue idol as of now, technically ferals too IIRC) could be a bit more interesting and stronger (for the same price) or cheaper if they'd permanently leech of magic (or rather reduce WoM regen). Honestly army building could be a lot more interesting if there were more limitations beyond cost and unit cap. Things like this or removing some ferals (thus tying certain monsters to secondary capabilities and/or lords and heroes. Dragons for instance can only come with lords or fire casters in TT) might free up some design space in the units themselves.
Can’t wait to try a doomstack of rogue idols in the campaign. It’s gonna be glorious!
I find it strange that Rogue Idols aren't unbreakable... I'm trying to wrap my head around the concept of a giant chunk of magic rock thinking 'Aw zog, da boyz is runnin' away! I betta run too!'
well its pretty much a personification of the greenskins in a way to running away is pretty accurate since greenskins are pretty well known for retreating..

Own monsters, missile, artillery and swamp with goblins to keep stationary so own cavalry can help?

that rogue idol will get nerfed for sure lol. about stormwing i personally think for his backside a white tiger (similar to deathclaw) would be far better fitting than a leopard since even Rahagra's Pride has this pattern. if it's just me or why does Imrik looks far more special and unique and Eltharion?... and idk if this has to be but rivertrolls noses should be the same like all other trolls like the rocktrolls have imho :/ but that Omen of Asuryan is beautiful! - so all in all i hope there will be mods to adjust this

Not just inconvenient but rather... pointless. The spear already has all the killing power you need, hold a shield in your other hand instead!
Well you have to look at it from a fantasy point of view. High elves are supposed to have near god like balance/poise and dexterity. For example the swordmasters of hoeth were said to be so dexterous and efficient in combat that it almost seemed as if they were performing a deadly dance, forming a wall of steel with a 6-11 ft blade as he attacks and defends simultaneously. With that being known, it's easy to imagine an elf using a spear in combat while simultaneously defending and attacking with a sword...which by the way it's also said that high elf weapons are made of light weight material, there's a name for that kind of steel but I don't remember what it was.

The last 2 minutes showcase the battle as epic, as DLC trailer itself. Nice video. The only ones misising are campaign RoR units, especially high elves, presumably riding griffins or great eagles (Knights of Tor Gaval). Are they available in custom battle under "capaign-only' tab, and are special elven knights ride griffins, eagles, or both?
Looking forward to modders using the animation rigs to work their magic.
I think I prefer Imrik over Eltharion (btw, I know Eltharion has a huge helmet and all but does his head look too big for his body? His face is huge - the model looks like Dawn of War 1 models lol) I like the Hag and Swamp Fings. Grom? His model appears to be too big for a goblin, even a fat one. He just looks and sounds too much like an orc. Lions look cool but I thought they'd have more combat staying power rather than just be jacked up war hounds. Disappointed we got more phoenixes instead of skycutter chariots, what a missed opportunity. All in all, looks ok for $10 but I would have payed a lot more for a lot more.

I doubt the Silvering Guard would replace Sheilded Lothern Sea Guard in campaigns. The Ranger unit could be effective flankers.
I really want to play greenskins because of the rework but holy shit the high elf units excited me way more then I had expected. Those lions!
