One of my favourite solo's off the first album, brilliant version and the sound is bang on. Funny how a lot of Dennis's solo's sound like Adrian Smith but this one sounds like Dave Murray, Dennis was good he contributed some good solo's to the first album.
Thanks. Right, Dennis play some great stuff on this album. Too bad he's not on more IM albums.
@@StephLeGratteux too bad ? Lol, we Got Adrian Smith! Imagine how ir would be without Adrian
@@cicerobarbiero What about Dave, Adrian and Dennis together? :D :D
would be great but unusual 3 guitar players on 80's beginning
Adrian joining Maiden was a bit like when Midge Ure deped in Thin Lizzy. He had to learn on the job & fast! Adrian had always been strictly rhythm in his own bands. He had a day time job & was doing alright! Initially he copied Dennis's parts to get a feel but into the first tour he just took off. I'll hand it to Mr Stratton though, great playing on Maiden's debut & this solo is just a classic!
I'm not gonna lie... I've been listening to Maiden since 1996 and I always thought this was Davey's solo!! Nice performance.
Thanks! You're not the only one!
Yeah me too, I think Dave and Dennis had styles that closely resembled eachother more than Dave and Adrian where you could generally yell who is who more clearly.
Your tone made me think it was the original my goodness amazing
Thanks!
I always loved this solo and song, Dennis Stratton, I felt always deserved more credit than he has gotten. This is an awesome rendition of it, excellent job and thanks for the tab too...
Thanks! I agree about Dennis, he did such a great job on this album and his solos are always tasty!
You're welcome. It's amazing how he didn't last very long in the band. He didn't even make it all the way through 1980 before they were looking to replace him. I'm not sure how long he was in the band prior to that maybe a good year or so...
I love this song and this solo (and this album) I wouldn’t be surprised if I have listened to this at least 1000 times over the years, I look forward to the next 1000 🤘
No Bruce, no Adrian and no Nicko, but still a great album!
Dennis the best
Ohhhhh come onnnn! Not only you are dead on the notes imho, but the tone!! How do you get that tone!!!
Magnifique!!
Thanks! That's the Les Paul tone ^^
Wonderful as always!
Thanks!
Beautiful. Thank you for providing all this.
Thanks!
Thank you very much man, greetings from México 🖐️
Always thought it was a Dave Murray solo...beautifully done
One of my all time favorites. Thank you!
For years I didn't know who played the first solo. I love Dave Murray & wanted it to be him. Very similar to his style. Hats off to Dennis because I think this solo is one of the most iconic in early 80's metal
I always thought it was Dave who played this... It was only because of Steph's brilliant channel that I realised it was Dennis. It sounds like Dave and is in my opinion the better solo of the two.
Dennis (and Adrian) both have a different style of soloing. I guess it
Maybe it's just from listening so this album and the others countless times. I never really had a hard time figuring out who's solos were who's on this album
@@jonathanhudak2059 If you listen to the guitar solos between the first album to the third one, you could tell a slight difference. Adrian guitar solos is more rhythm while Dennis's one is much more melodic. Dennis even mentioned right before he left the band, they were recording Killers.
Teacher Steph today is my bithday that great gift given me with this great solo 😃👍👏👏👏
Happy Birthday!
@@StephLeGratteux Thank you Máster😃
Your vids are the best my friend, tnks a lot for the great work
Thanks!
Beautiful!
I remember ! the first time I heard this solo in 1992, right away! it was the solo that most caught my attention on irom's first album. it's too much! ! Mais uma bez parabéns !!!
Such slick guitar work dig it!
Thanks!
Good job Steph! This is a good solo even if i love Adrian's taste!!!
There are other solos by Adrian like omega or Darkside of aquarius that are very cool!
So i really appreciate this channel...It's very helpful !!!
Thanks !!
Pretty spot on chap, top job
Thanks!
wow amazing solo man :)
Good solos sound fast and slow, and this slow solo is even better) (I apologize if I write incorrectly, because I do not know the language, I write from Russia)
Thanks! Perfect english (from a french guy who doesn't know the language perfectly lol)
Superbe version!
J’ai toujours cru que c’était Dave ce solo lol. J’aurai appris quelque chose aujourd’hui.
Ça doit être mon solo préféré du premier album.
Merci ! Eh non, Dave joue juste le solo au milieu du morceau :)
Amazing work! I'm so excited! This is one of my all-time favorite Iron Maiden solos. There is so much feel and emotion in this solo. And there are little nuances that make hard to tab (like holding a bend and then adding some subtle vibrato). You nailed it! Every detail. And that tone is spot on. Well I know what I'll be working on for awhile...... Thanks again for all of the excellent work! You're a talent musician and teacher!
Thanks!
Merci, un de mes soli préférés et , une fois n'est pas coutume, joué à la perfection.
Merci !
M A G I C
Perfect thank you
Thanks!
Great tutorial, do you have the other solos from this song? They were all great
Super cette chanson ! Bravo pour l'intro elle est très sympa à faire c'est vrai !
Merci ! Oui, sympa et pas bien compliquée
I love it bro! Next one should be Invaders!! I love both solos *_*
Its solo played Dave Murray on the Iron Maiden album. Its him style.
Dave Murray only plays the other solo
well done ! , do you know how to tune the guitar for the solo ? , i heard it sharper then standart 440hz
the backing track is awsome, do you also find it a little weird on what beat the solo starts on?
Beautiful, 2 things: 1 are you sure that part is by Dannis and not Dave ?, 2 beautiful Les paul ... what model is it? I have a classic hello Lele
Thanks! Yes, and this is a Gibson LP Standard from 1991-92
Great solo, better more tastier vibrato here tbh than original song
Thanks!
Hi. What pedals are you using and the settings ? Thanks..
Hi, I'm using Guitar Rig 3 presets
Can you do a live in japan versión?
Супер
Thanks!
anyone list which solos on the album are strattons? i was convinced this one was murry.
I have a list from a page that doesn't exist anymore and it says it Stratton's. Also there is another page with a more detailled list here : forum.maidenfans.com/threads/is-there-a-website-source-that-shows-who-plays-each-guitar-solo-in-the-songs.25418/
when i heard this,now i know its dennis,not murray?!!
Tuning?
standard...
A shame he was asked to leave as he likes soft music
Not heavy metal
He said he needs chill out with the likes of George Benson
Can't blame him
Still a great guitar player
Pensava q era do davi esse solo
Sure it's Dennis
