@@StephLeGratteux he's often much less melodic in his playing, but his style is unique and extremely expressive - at least in my opinion. i wouldn't call his playing "random shredding"... anyway i'm waiting for "mother russia"! :)

Jan is the Guy Who helpen the band through the 90s they all asked HIM to stay when Bruce and that crybaby of a Adrian returnd...... JAN IS THE BEST THING THAT HAPPENED TO MAIDEN!!!! IF YOU DONT LIKE JAN YOUR NOT A MAIDEN FAN!
Well said sir and I totally agree, Janick is a fantastic songwriter and songs have given the title track for many of the last maiden's albums (dance of death, book of souls for example) and I can name tons of other songs written by him. Undoubtly he is the best that has happened to maiden and thank to him the band stood together writing great songs, he and steve together are a deadly mortal duo writing songs, questioning his solos? Those fucker that hates jan style dont know a shit about guitar playing, Janick is probably the most complete guitar player out of the 3, crybaby adrian is vibrato virtuoso and dave a legato master, but janick is able to duplicate both styles whenever he wants, uses fast and hybrid picking, sweeps and a bunch of others tecniquez the other 2 dont. Besides that his studio solo are intrincate and mo doubt the hardest ones to cover, fast and melodic when the songs needed to. Live shows he just enjoy being there playing and thats it. Stop the hate and do some research about this awesome guitar player.
