I grew up in the 60s and 70s. Who knew at 63 I would be getting into Mongolian metal. I love the instruments and throat singing.❤ They have great videos too.

The high pitch sound was their voice because that sound was throat singing and it takes a lot of practice and sounds amazing and is a beautiful sound that is totally different from anything you have ever heard.

Hey buddy thank you for your reaction. The two string instrument is MORIN KHUUR English is horse head fiddle. like a whistle is khoomii (traditional throat singing). Uuhai is band name and hun sureg is song name. Hun sureg is Human flock in English. please check this out and this song is the new song of this this band called Ser Ser (Awake and awake). It is amazing song you will see.

The high pitch whistling is called Mongolian throat singing and Tuvan is in lower notes . Many cultures have their own version of throat singing from around the world and it is fascinating in that not all music has to sound alike or be limited to certain languages only to become popular and to be heard.
