John, you can always be relied upon for great playing, incisive reviews, infectious love for your craft and a great, genuine warm and positive vibe. Keep 'em coming!
I love the glassiness of the clean tones and how the dirty tones sound like hell’s teeth!. Beautiful playing as ever, John. My joint favourite reviewer alongside Greg Koch. Many thanks.
The pickups sound great. Surprisingly bright and single coil like.
My very first electric was a Harmony from the Sears Christmas catalog. I can't tell you the level of hate I had for that piece of plywood garbage. THIS Harmony sounds amazing.

Heritage own Harmony and they are made at the old Gibson factory. So surprise! The guitar is even better made then your average Gibson! They know how to make a pickup too. These are very similar to a Firebird PU. So all made in house. Everything top grade. Hardware, woods, PU's fit and finish!!
Yep. The construction quality is top-notch.
Lol. Not even
@@jamestillman5247 Do you own one? I do. And several Gibsons.
@@VIDS2013his comment betrays his utter ignorance (or rejection) of the facts. The new Harmony is a simple design executed brilliantly with top quality materials. My Jupiter is a revelation. And I have 20 other guitars, among which several nice Gibsons.
@@ghalston5641 I also have a Jupiter. Great guitar, excellent materials and construction.
You must have connected with this guitar. Your playing was on fire!
Love this Harmony and always enjoy your playing. My first guitar was a 40's Harmony archtop F hole jazz box, for which I bought one of those early pickguards that had a single pickup and the pots all mounted in the guard. I played it through a hifi mono record player amp till I could afford an actual amp. My guitar teacher wanted me to read charts of wimpy old standard songs and play in his guitar "band" with about 8 or 10 other students. I wanted to play what I heard on the radio and records; Link Ray, Duane Eddy, even Les Paul and Mary Ford. I finally just quit the lessons and trusted my ears.
That guitar sounds great in your mitts J-Boh, sweet pickups!!!!
I just picked one of these up. The pickups are outstanding. They really sound nice. It feels like a really well made instrument too. If I had to gripe it would be that it is a smidge neck heavy (not like a Firebird or anything crazy). It’s less noticeable when standing too. For the price I would definitely grab one of these if you get the chance. I am super impressed and will probably check out the other new models from Harmony.
i like everything about that guitar. My first guitar was a cream color strat. Simplicity is a plus for me. Yes, i agree that they nailed it, but i can't afford that anytime soon.
"It's like a dirt bike ", " you can run it clean but I love the way it takes the dirt " I think I'm getting one , the JB stamp of approval, play on amigo
John - Your playing has REALLY grown since I 1st heard you several years ago. Keep it up. You are doing fine !
Life started for me with a brand new Harmony Rocket and a little National amp.
Harmony Rocket... and a Danelectro DM-25 here! √
Sadly, sold the guitar years ago-replaced with a sweet 'burst '65 ES-335 (still have it!), but I do still own the amp.
OMG, that guitar and amp took me through so many H.S. auditorium Battle of the Bands and however many party gigs back in the day. Life indeed!
7:01 hahaha
Harmony are made in Kalamazoo at the old Gibson building by guys that 'KNOW' howto make great guitars!!!
I where Heritage is made too. Heritage makes great guitars.
Paul Ewing I wondered if they built them alongside Heritage.
Skeet Schuler I just got a junior heritage and it’s better than my Gibson LP
@@jr0706 Heritage are the new mysterious owners of Harmony. In short Harmony are Heritage guitars.
Looks like a great date, you're in love and great demo of all the positions that make it super! Thanks!
No shit Harmony coming back. Sounds great but John kills everything. This was an especially good one though guys. Playing was really nice. Made me want a Harmony for the first time ever.
"I'll probably be dead in 10 years."
WTF?!
Chris Rossi let’s hope not...
Harmony strat copy was my first guitar! Great video 👍
Ditto, boss! It was sparkly silver, with a black pickguard, and gold hardware. Yeeeeeah!
@@revolutionday1 mine was black with a black pickguard, which I then changed pups for Texas special custom shops 😀👍
"It's like a dirt bike"'
Nice demo John as always.
"Given I've been beating this thing like it owes me money..." :)
Sounds gorgeous, I like!
Nice toight sounds!
Great demo John! It's kinda bizarre that the folks at Heritage decided to brand these things as Harmony guitars instead of just adding them to the Heritage guitar line.
No it makes sense
@@silverpairaducks How so? Heritage is known for its high quality, hand built, USA guitars. The original Harmony brand has long been associated with producing low cost "novelty" guitars .
@@RyanjmatthewsII Harmony had some good stuff
Sounds Amazing.
Very cool,I like those pick ups ,
Fantastic player
This guy is a greek god of guitar
You really.played that mac dre song "since 84" 😂✌ props man. Is a funky guitar indeed.
What amp and drive pedals are you using, John? Sounds great.
MXR drive Vavletrain amp
Nice guitar 🎸
Good looking and sounding guitar! Pretty obvious you were digging it John. But hey PG (7:32) can you give John a raise so he can afford some new Cons?
Raging Chimera how much can a pair be? Lol.
@@abcdefghijklmnop7873 50 or so
Are those Jeggings?? 😳
the only thing i don't like about it is the pick guard. but if there's an option without a pick guard that'd be awesome.
Great look, like every from you!
I think they missed a trick by not going for 3×pups. It would work aesthetically, if not sonically.
...So 9/10. Still, not bad, right?!
>I would Rock the shit outta that Bad-axe!!
No, no! OMG... If they offered it with three pickups, then I'd just _have_ to buy it!
..Tom we'd like to see your rig set up / run down .....👍
Looks a lot like my Fender Powercaster! 🎶🎸
@8:12...somebody has been on a Sonny Landreth kick, sounds like :o) Nice guitar--great playing!
Tasty licks, John. Sounds excellent.
Mini humbuckers can be soooo unpredictable in such a great way.
JB is...”Some kind of savior singing the blues. A derelict in your duct tape shoes...” quote from Lucinda Williams
Looks like the Fender Powercaster
Bollinger is a freaking animal...chops for days
Nice review - guitar looks good and sounds great. For this vintage style it probably should have had a tremolo bar added to the bridge.
Absolutely, I agree..
Yeah, but maybe offered as more of an option thing. How hard would that be within the smallish new Harmony line, right? 3rd-party aftermarket mod?
Great review, though. Super playing and great tones. Loving the mini gold-foils, and I am now _seriously_ interested. Hmm...
Not your Dad’s crappy dumpster Harmony. But $1200? That’s a USA Fender. Gonna be a tough sell.
Maybe they’ll lower the price. They initially said $1400 or $1499 when these were first intro’d at NAMM over a year ago. Handwires pickups, the whole shebang made in Kalamazoo, locking tuners, comes with a $220 case. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
This guy could make a guitar made out of pinecones and barbed wire sound amazing...makes it hard to decide if the guitar is good or not!
Jump cuts are annoying to say the least.
Yeah the tacky video editing needs to go
It kinda looks like a fender meteora from the alternate reality series or whatever it was called
Really sounds like bitty single coil pickups !
I suddenly realize how very much Prince looked just like Sister Rosetta Thorpe…
Volume and tone .....annnd a switch right there..... ha ha ha
Really suits you, too! Makes me think of Gandalf the White ☺!
Luey Tele Deluxe on the dawn of the fifth day, look to the stage 😄
John, buy some new shoes. You deserve it.
Gah $1200 seems really steep for that thing...no offence.
Bryan Thomas nitro finish, gold foil pick ups and made in the USA. Good price point I’d say? Does Fender have a USA made for this price? To rich for my blood, I’m a $600-750 used guitar buyer! I have an 80’s Harmony that I got for $75. Press wood and crap neck but it sound good even though with its bridge it won’t intonate.
@@benlogan430 I don't think this is quite at the USA Fender quality of build and parts. I'd say it compares to Eastwood guitars, who also does Harmony repros. A simple model like this would be like $700-800 in their catalogue. I have no idea the quality of those gold foils - they sound just ok to me.
I would buy The Juno model but not at $1200. Ya you are right about price on these. I would pay $600ish but I’m frugal and broke! Set neck and a case would be a must for me at $1200? With that money I’d buy two used Gibson’s!
@@bryanthomas9667 I'd say you're wrong. These are made in the US by Heritage and as well made and any American Fender. The fit and finish are perfect on mine. They don't feel or play like 600 dollar import guitars.
Yoga Soul 🙏🏻❤️
What’s with the tape on your shoes? Lol.
What's the tape on your foot for?
Shoe bandage
Helps with harmonics 👍
Super! Сууупер
$1299 is quite a bit.
Exactly. These should be no more than $999.99
Why $999? $999 is the New Mexican Vintera Series from Fender.
Cool guitar. Seems a little overpriced unless it’s made in America. Kind of reminds of a Gibson non reverse Firebird.
These new ones are made in Kalamazoo
I’m surprised John doesn’t mention it. It’s a major selling point that these are made in Michigan, have handwired pickups, locking tuners, comes with a $220 case... They’re really not THAT overpriced. Harmony is now owned by Heritage, these seem essentially Heritage guitars. Gibson on the other hand...
Brad Field thanks for your information. It does seem like a nice guitar .
if you're going to display good sustain on a guitar, play it clean and dry. No OD, Reverb or Delay
Wait, Is that a Prince painting? And a yoga shirt? Can't do it...jk. Those pups sound killer, yes. You make them sound killer. Like your style.......
What in the hell are you talking about "Prince painting"? You're not even making sense, man.
It's not Prince. It's Rosetta Thorpe
lost me on the three bolt neck......
If it was mine it'd be tuned down to D, so 2 bolts would probably do the job just fine.
Tom Anderson uses a two bolt neck and I don't hear anyone complaining.
Gaffer tape on the shoes 👟 WTF man 🥴 really not a good look
Gaffer tape on the shoes 👟 WTF man 🥴
Nitro on a $1200 guitar? Are you kidding me? I'm in.
Good review but he says "uhhh" and "uuhm" too much. Not saying I could do better by the way, just saying!

Overpriced!!!
