Greetings; great series! I just wanted to point out a minor mistake in your reading of the Archeotech's rule Master of Cybertechnica: Only the cyber-upgrades bought for the Archeotech themselves are discounted, not for the rest of the gang (and he starts with 1 free alpha upgrade). Now, while I agree the Tech skills aren't particularly good and this specialist champion seems initially a bit out of place (due to his limited weapon selection at creation), since he's a champion he can equip any weapons/wargear from the gang's stash/trading post/black market, meaning that you can make him into an excellent Heavy weapon champion by combining the only 2 useful Tech skills (Weaponsmith and Gadgeteer) with the heavy weapons that aren't on the Van saar's house weapon list (Heavy bolter, Heavy stubber, Autocannon, ecc...): - Weaponsmith Archeotech with Plentiful Heavy bolter, Plentiful Roket launcher or simply non-scarce Plasma cannon or Multi melta/Meltagun - Weaponsmith+Gadgeteer Archeotech with Heavy stubber Rapid fire (3) or Autocannon Rapid fire (2) - Weaponsmith+Gadgeteer+Fire guild alliance Archeotech with Rapid fire (2) Plasma cannon or Plasmagun, if you want to keep him 'cheap'. Also note that since Archeotech starts with a free Alpha upgrade he can always start with Ocular alpha and gain the effects of Infrared sights on Rapid fire or Blast heavy weapons. Anyway, keep up the good work and cheers! :)
Dont forget that he can bring along 3 Cyberachnids, all of which pack a scarce-loaded Web Projector. Even if he's not a combat dude, giving him a cheap shock maul and some spiderbros could be a nasty surprise for a close combat gang when you can get them all tarpit in webs with easy Coup De Grace on standby. Accidentally at least did the Archeotech dude when I gave one of them my spare shock stave to go with his rad beamer, only to realize he was campaign only because they can't take that weapon on skirmish.
Fast Shot is amazing for these guys, but Munitioneer will keep your plasma loaded. I'm definitely getting fast shot on them as soon as possible but I want to increase reliability before I amp the output. Also, I've arranged my fire teams to each have long range support, short range fire power and assault (speed bumps). So they are more spearhead and flanking fire teams. A grav-gun is essential to my plans too.
One of my sillier ideas when I was building models was to dedicate one of the gals in to the kit for my Prime, and then gave her twin combi-melta/laspistols. Stupidly impractical and I probably will make her a cheaper build out of another boxset (probably duel laspistols with mastercraft or hotshot or something, I really wanna start her off with Gunfighter) but if I ever run into an area where people start running a lot of Ambots or the toughened up Goliaths out there, I know what equipment card to dust off.
Will add that my favorite potential silly thing that I heard can be done RAW is taking a Neotek and slowly but surely upgrade them until they finally promote. Now, nothing offhand says that when you promote you have to give up any gear (the exception being Corpse Grinder masks) when you upgrade a prospect. Not as interesting with other prospects like Wyld Hunters who keep their tribal weapons or Phelynxes, but can be utterly silly keeping the grav cutter on a Archeotech with their rad beamer or spider rig, or an Augmek carrying heavy weapons. Fly-by multi-meltas with augmeks on grav cutters I heard was particularly busted capable moves that these sorta antics could do.
Best thing you do with Van Saar is take two Champions with Lascannons and an Overseer Leader. Oh yeah, and a Specialist and two Juves as backup. Have fun!
One question I have is which forge world weapon packs did you use for the big money build? I looked them up and there isn't any Las Pistols in there. Are there a lot of Laspistols in the other two boxes?
Ok ok, here me out, you say neoteks are “very fragile” I argue not, more so in campaigns, 40point relatively easy to get ceramics shields and mesh armour makes the neotek a 2+ base armour save, for 125points and for a model with that much durability it is kind of broken.
True, but I am referring to the beginning of a campaign. Vanilla with bare bones equipment, they crumble very easily. Sure, you can arm them up and equip them better later one, but its still a costly investment.
@@CommanderCheapSkate yeah, thats true, also a note i forgot to mention is that technically the the grav-cutters circumvent the downside of taking cermite shields since they have the downside of making your move action into a basic action, but the grav cutter gives you access to use the hit and run as a basic action , so you technicaly can still move 14inches even with ceramite armour, also due to ruling of hit and run, this workd as there are no real prerequisites of actually "hitting" the opponent to use the action.
Great video as I consider getting into Necromunda. I like this gang’s look and lore, but I do also like Zone Mortalis.
The cost of Cyberteknika is only reduced for the Archeotek themself.
Not for the gang.
Super handy info on this series of vids for players getting back into necromunda after years of being away
You're very welcome 😎

I need to look into thus. That sounds incredibly promising! Thank you for the heads up!

This sounds epically awesome! Very well rounded! Good luck in your campaign!
bro I was so lost. this vid really helps me get a starting point. thanks!
You're very welcome! There's a lot to unpack and go through with the rules 😎
Thanks for putting this out!
You are very welcome!
Great video!! 😍😍 thank you for this! Given me a few choices for me on how to start out with my gang! 🥰
You're very welcome! And good luck on your future campaign!

@@gratuitouslurking8610 Indeed. I think it'll be cool to see an Archeotek on a grav cutter 😎
That build would be epically terrifying!

Reporting for duty Commander! Good show and info!
Thank you very much!

That is correct. The starter box and Archetek/Neotek boxes have a lot of laspistols for you to use.
@@CommanderCheapSkate good thing I have both thanks brother 👏💯🎯
Hey commander! Happy Wednesday! Took me a minute to figure out what day it was. Lol. Is your week going any smoother?
I hear you. I was excited because I thought today was Thursday at first. But alas, tis only Wednesday!
Good luck on the rest of the week!
I have a question, whats the bonus of running 2x las pistols over 1x lasgun?
It's for close combat and short range!
The reason I asked is because I am trying to build your big money bags build....
You dislike the rapid fire 2 sub carbines for archeotek ?
At the ti.me I did. 😎

Sucks tht archeotek are kinda meh. They are the reason I got em loo
No subtek spam list?
To be honest, I didn't even think of that 😎
@@CommanderCheapSkate I mean, it's a 4+ lasgun shot for 45 creds. It even has a T-shirt for once in a blue moon 6+ save. Seems like a deal.
while strong doesn't seem too flavorful/fun
