This is amazing. It is really making me question my approach to Headrush. Like you I was a one rig per song player, but that's complicated and tiresome to maintain. With this setup I could have up to 5 separate rigs, which could cover all the songs? Much food for thought. Many thanks for this.
This is how I use mine its simpler imo on stage, only bought this recently so getting my head around everything. Im not mad on the overdrive tones I have up till now used a backstair 100 ht valve amp is there anything in the amps selection that is close to this.
Hi Gary, I had that Blackstar amp, I'd look at the Plexi, the Solodano 100 or more recently the Engl Powerball to get that tone, I think the best overdrive is still the Green OD (Tube screamer) but I pair it with a white boost at the start of the chan set 0 drive 50 bass & treble so flat.. but 25 gain, which is very subtle but it kicks the Tube screamer and amp into another gear..
What a great combination👌🏻... I am recently owner of a headrush MX5 with 'only 3 buttons' off course. It sounds great as well. I want to use these as my basic clean, crunch, solo go to rigs... the only difficulty I have now is that it imports 3 scenes only per rig (because of limited buttons). Where can I find info about all scenes per rig, so I could probably save these in another rig or something🤔?
@@MuckingAboutWith Well something like that... in principle the 4 basic sounds (including CLEANER... and each with max 3 different scenes)... Or some info about all the scenes you have in the video... so I could create it myself maybe. I can not add a screenshot of the MX5 here, because than it would be easier to explain I think)
@@MuckingAboutWith so... do you have this info available somewhere, or do I need to derive it by carefully looking at your video and checking all the combinations (so I can make my MX5 versión for this)?
@@basrulkens6977 I asked over in the Headrush forum which buttons match in the 2 units, it seems buttons 1-3 on mine are the 3 buttons on the MX5.. but, I don't think you have hybrid mode do you? Which is how the different rigs are selected (4 rigs on the top row, 4 scenes on the bottom) so the question is do you want 3 rigs or 3 scenes?
@@MuckingAboutWith wellicht there is a sort of limited hybrid mode (but with 3 buttons very limited offcourse). In fact I want 3 rigs (clean/crunch/lead) with 3 scenes each (for example chorus on/off etc). Not as versatile as the pedalboard offcourse. But at least that would work for me at least. But maybe with the 20 options you have a could make 4rigs x 3scenes and 4 rigs x 2 scenes for example. Then at least I can use all the options somehow. Now for example for the CLEAN rig you created I can only see and use the FUZZ, VIBE and MUTRON scenes. The other scenes are not visible/accessible for me (I am interested in what they are)
HI Benny, thanks man! Sure you can have the rig, I can't upload it until tomorrow, but will do it in the morning.. it will be on my website: www.doremi.co.uk/Headrush Cheers! - Steve
No vocals via the Headrush I'm afraid, it doesn't have a mic pre amp in it. You can do that with a full Helix though (not the small versions) I use an external vocal processor with mine.
Hi Chris, in this scenario I have 4 rigs in "Hybrid" mode which means the top or bottom 4 buttons are rigs, and the 4 other buttons are scenes/stomps within each Rig.. You can have up to 8 rigs available on the buttons but you have to be in "Rig View" and that takes away the scenes/stomps.
@@MuckingAboutWith hi there, been messing about with this, and it seems you can have more than 4 rigs, and if you hit the bank up/down buttons it displays the next 4 rigs in hybrid mode? Its less elegant than your setup, but I am struggling to get down to only 4 rigs!!
@@chrismcilveen7209 Hi Chris, You're right in Hybrid mode you hop through 4 rigs at a time. I'll be honest, I only use this setup when my band are jamming or working out new songs, when we play live I'm a rig per song person using the setlist to step through them and the midi out to change presets on any pedals I have in the FX loop..
@@MuckingAboutWith many thanks. I too am a one rig per song kind of guy, but increasingly find it an overhead to maintain all those rigs when you have more than 80 songs in your repertoire. Plus its not easy to switch around when the lead singer suddenly decides to deviate from the agreed set list for a gig :(. So am looking for a simpler setup, maybe even going to back to using my JVM210H and the good old 4CM setup..............
dude... this is cool. going to give it a try even though i only play at home, maybe could make my self a few sets that work well with multiple songs.
very Informative thanks
Really amazing dude!!!! Thanks a lot for this video and for all donwloads ;)

Perfect deeply using mist possibilities of pedalboard. Btw, i have also mx5, and with Ampero control thus is can be also, i think. Thanks
I think the Ampero Control looks great! Let us know how you get on with it and the MX5..

Hi! So would you like a rig that just uses the base sounds for clean / crunch /lead sounds with one on each button?

Thankyou!!
Where or what brand are those Footswitch toppers?!
They are Barefoot Buttons, Tallboys on the back row, std height on the front, you need the V1 type.
Does it have presets for vocals?
