The idea sound healthy for the farmer... allows you to put the majority of time needed in the proper places, growing product. Also it appears to relieve any possibilty of another person in the home loop. It's a small cost for your freedom of time.
Curits can you make a video on how to legally establish your farm? Like what steps you need to take beyond registering the farm's name with the state? what business licenses and permits do we need? asking for a small microgreens farm in texas
I ran across your video, and I think what you are doing and what I’m doing are so different i was bummed after watching this video. I have no real customers, just one, a cooler and contract and if you want to be real, the cooler is a direct expense. I’m trying to find software to take my family vegetable farm from 1950 to 2023. My father in law sends the fox to town to get the mail, writes every single check by hand. We see an accountant every quarter. I’m looking for a program that has little to no invoicing, but still an accounts receivable function but more of an accounts payable mostly. My accounts receivable is minimal. Maybe 20 - 30 checks a year. Thanks
Seems like a product for the sales processes. Has anyone used Tend.ag for the seed order, planning, plantings, inputs and job tasks etc? They have some of this functionality. It would be nice to mesh these two together.
I've been researching LocalLine, Tend and Harvie for the past few weeks for my farm. From what I've seen, the more commerce-focused tools (aka the "CRMs" - LocalLine and Harvie) lack the full functionality needed for the on-farm mgmt (tools such as Tend) and vice versa. They all have things on their roadmaps to get some more of the cross-functionality in the future that they're missing, but with it being a very new product space with young companies, you'll likely have to combine 2 tools for the next year or 2 (at least) to get everything you need (I'm currently coming to terms with that approach myself!).
Hi Curtis, can you talk about the difference between Tend software and Local Line? It looks like Tend is more for the growing/behind the scenes/running your farm software while Local Line is geared more towards communicating with the consumer. Can you do a comparison video please?
@@offgridcurtisstone 'Our Homestead Journey' already mentioned the functional difference between the two software packages. They simply wanted more information through a separate video. I too would like to see where one leaves off and the other picks up - the two have overlapping features.
Is there anything that LocalLine does that generic business management software does not do? Farm specific stuff? I ask because I'm using Zoho One which does a LOT for the money. I'ts got accounting software, CRM, project management, etc - it does a LOT for what I pay for. The entire reason I was searching and ran across this video is that I'm looking for a way to plan out my beds - whats going where, when things get harvested, what to plant next on rotation ... I was looking at maybe doing it in project management and use a gantt chart but it's not really a PERFECT fit.
Thanks so much for all your videos I just love them you're always so informative and you're always to the point I love it no messing around with you I really appreciate you have a great day
Has anyone who's using Local Line also tried Farmigo? I currently use Farmigo for my company, and it works for what we do (aggregate local produce from many farmers into a customizable subscription), but it is expensive! $150/mth or 2% of sales, whichever is greater.
Currently, we only support CAD, USD, AUS and NZD. We're working on the Euro and expect to be able to support it early in the new year! Hopefully that timing works for you.
I didn't want to rain on Localline's parade, and it looks like they've done a great job creating software that farmers like, but when I saw the Localline website I immediately suspected that Localline itself is an Odoo customization. Either way, to morph Odoo into Localline requires a good amount of effort and tech knowledge but the community version of Odoo offers so much of what Localline offers (which is why I wouldn't be surprised if Localline is Odoo under the hood) that it's worth comparing the 2 before making a decision.
I'm sorry this is unrelated to the video, but does anyone have any information on Curtis Stone's microgreens course? There was supposed to be one in the fall, but I've heard nothing about nor have I found any info on it. If someone could fill me in I'd greatly appreciate it.
@@politicalpartyagnostic268 I've tried multiple times on his Q&As but there's a few people on there who talk a ton and so I think my questions get missed. I don't want to spam on those since other people have questions, so I came here.
I hate internet base software. Does anyone know of an offline software that I could use that I can use on my PC or laptop?
Thanks Curtis! We’re just planning for year 1 so this is perfect timing; this is going to save us SO much time and effort.
sr. how was the software? did u acttuay use it?... pls im doing an research about about farming softwares
Thank You Curtis!!!!! So generous. So thoughtful. Thanks to John too. What a difference you are making. Thanks again.

I don't think this would justify a whole video. They are totally different products. Local Line is a CRM and Tend is a farm management software.

Curtis i have signed up but haven't recieved the 1 month trial.
Hi German! If you refresh the page you'll see you've now been credited with the 30 day free trial.
Barn2Door also is great software for market garden businesses
Are any farmers using this to help organise their CSA?. What features do they offer to help CSA farmers?
Hey Tate! We have lots of CSA's who use us :) Most of them use our customer credits/discounts feature, and they also use our standing order feature.

Hey Patrick. We have a few customers who have made the switch. I'd be happy to intro you to them if you'd like!
Thank you, I would love that! Please DM me.

Does anyone know if you can use localline with euros? I could not find it on their website

Hey Ruben - unfortunately we don't offer that yet, but we will in the future!

Can you use local line in the USA?
Yes you can! We operate across America.
Use Odoo community edition is free

@@LetterSignedBy51SpiesWasA-Coup Hi Paul - we are not built on Odoo. Local Line has been custom built from scratch by our team.
Totally agree .. why pay any company a cut just to offer software. Hard enough to make a living without someone digging their hands in your wallet.
FarmOS is a really cool tool !

How about a software for "farming"
Check out Tend
IMO moving to fast when showing what the program does.
I worry a bit about any software, since eventually, one will monopolize and now that guy/gal, is a gateway. Like youtube (wink)
Sure. I guess one can find a reason to worry about something.
