Terry, I think it is very reasonable to get that manifold to work better and not work miracles. It has small runners for a small engine. If someone needs bigger runners, they should hunt for a manifold with bigger runners? Being a single plane manifold, it should supposedly shift peak torque to happen higher in the RPM band but with the small runners could maintain more of the low end torque due to keeping velocities up? I have one of these manifolds, so I may try installing it in place of a performer RPM. I wouldnt expect it to work better, but maybe differently.......but I have not tried it before so I really dont know.
Interesting, I have heard and read that the Offenhauser port o sonic was the top single plane option when basically all you had was the Port o sonic, X celerator and Torker. Which just from my novice eye makes sense just looking at the plenum area and way the ports are angled. I got a X celerator simply because it was available for a decent deal. One gentleman I spoke to ran all three and said the only intake that he ran that could out perform his modded port o sonic was a Victor SR. This old stuff is just so much fun messing with it’s the meaning of hot rodding imo.
I have both intakes Terry, the torker and excelerator going to try both this summer .

Some paint a stock air cleaner and a few accessories can hide a lot. I like everything painted especially all the aluminum stuff.

Work on the Runners at the cylinder head end getting the air too turn into the cylinder headis intake ports is where it will pickup considerably .
Maybe #1250,#1262 ?
