This is a great video explaining the Belgians in Bolt Action. Definitely a good resource for anyone planning on playing and collecting Belgians. Cheers, Tristan.
As someone has considered starting a Belgian Army, this is such a helpful video! Wonderful job! Have you ever considered publishing a painting guide for the Belgians?
I should be playing my first game of 2nd edition with the Belgians soon, so I hope the world is looking forward to that. ;) I don't think my painting is good or historically accurate enough to warrant a guide, but I can give you my recipe if there's anything specific you're interested in?
You did this list I wrote proud. I too am waiting for an ACG-1. And cavalry is really good in Bolt Action, perhaps too good. My other must have is the Belgian .50 cal. Great job.
Nice army and a good breakdown on what the Belgians bring to the game. In a low point game the light howitzer is an auto include. Direct fire HE is a beautiful thing. I think this game works well for early war with the emphasis on infantry. Thanks again.
@ANdy2D6: 2 days ago one of our Chasseurs Ardennais took down a suicide bomber in Brussels Central saving a great many people. ;) Your little fellows are epic even nowadays!!!! - Sabaton even dedicated "Resist and Bite" to their heroic stand in 1940.
So it would seem. Ironically I delved into their history more after seeing your army. And I'm Belgian and was barely aware of all the crazy stuff they've pulled off. This is the odd symbol of the Chasseurs, they have it on that oversized hat you found so funny: www.maisondusouvenir.be/photos2/photo_sans_album/chasseur_ardenais_kasenyi_001.gif "Resist and Bite" is their motto. The boar is an animal indigenous to the Ardennes. Probably why they picked it as their symbol. :) Any plans to add to the army? I haven't seen it pass in quite a while.
Not sure if you are still interested, but I found a 1/56 scale ACG-1 tank on MAD BOB miniatures. they also have some different vehicles and artillery for minor nations.
Romuald Théate I hope to add a heavy machine gun and a truck next. After that, I'm just waiting for somebody to release a model of the ACG-1 in the correct scale.
Mad Bob Miniatures do a VUDB armoured transport ... Regarding the ACG1, I presume you've looked into the French AMC 35, which was basically the same tank ...
Andy2D6 Is it possible in Bolt Action to play a purely Chasseur themed force? I did see they had some support elements manned by Chasseurs. So I suppose it is possible to more or less field a more elite Belgian force?
@@Andy2D6 well in a way it's their fault as in they lost, after all the encirclement at dunkerque spelled the doom of belgium and france, however not only the belgian king not help with previous matters he's even at blame for making all of this misery happen; when germany remilitarized the rhineland, he declared neutrality even though this was a clear sign of german aggression and did not protect them in world war 1... And foiled the french plans which accounted belgium as a critical part in their defensive strategy; the french troops were supposed to be there from day one and use the strong rivers positions and fortifications to halt any german action, instead they had to rush in to try and relieve belgium and the netherland in haste, which allowed the germans to make their gamble at dunkerque, which won them the battle of france. Belgium was also ill prepared for the war and could have used from better preparation, as shown in their early defeats, losing their strongest fortifications in a matter of hours. It's like the king was living in a fairy tale...
Dear Andy the ACG 1 is an exact copy of the french AMC S35 you could just find one of those and give them a belgian paint job and BOOM there ya go a belgian ACG1 BTW loved your belgian army you convinced me to get these dudes too! minor nations like these always get overlooked and ignored and it's a shame
As far as I know there were only minor changes made to the turret. Last time I checked there weren't too many 28mm AMC 35s either. I've found one 3D printing site that does ACG 1, but it's a tad expensive. Once I started playing BA again I'll surely have another look.

Starting Belgians; What do you use for it? The US non-winter HMG team with Finnish bodies and Chasseurs heads, perhaps?

+Dan Morgan I need to pick up one of those things soon.
Just ordered my belgian support group from Bolt action ! Thanks for the video
I still don't have one of those. Maybe soon...
Thanks for showing the models!

I understand the Belgian army have been reinvigorated and inspired by my videos over the last few years.

I do have some more models that I haven't painted, but I haven't got into second edition yet.
Glad to hear. Variation is the spice of life! :)

This is where I purchased my ACG-1 from. I haven't used it in a game yet, but hopefully soon.
Nice review and nice army !
If you ever add to it i'd love to see what you come up with, very nice work :)

What did you use for the grass and flowers? It looks amazing
Static grass and tufts (possibly Gamers Grass tufts with the flowers).

Great army there m8, ready to take on the German onslaught. Nice hats to boot.
They shouldn't perform too badly in Early War/Blitzkrieg battles ... problem is finding people who've chosen to build a contemporary army ...
Graeme Collin If he is in the Vanvouver, Canada, area, he can contact us. We have a lot of Early Wars army here!
Northern England, I'm afraid ... :)
Love to see a game with Steve's SS
***** One of these days...
Also, don't forget the fact that all of their helmets are called Adrian ...
Chasseurs Ardennais or as we Flemmish say in Dutch "Ardeense Jagers'.
I'm excited to get these guys back on the field when Bolt Action version 2 comes out.

It is definitely possible. I know of at least one person who has an entirely Chasseur army.
Andy2D6 cool good to know thanks!
Not true, the Belgians were set up for defeat by themselves, or more particularly by their king
I’m a bit late tho ain’t I
How much of the blame do you place on their allies?

How could you pass on the Dutch team ORANGE?
Warlord don't make Dutch models, sadly.
Andy2D6 will they make any Dutch models in the future? I would love to see those

Andy2D6 thank you for replying
