    Did you embedded reinforcement into the adjacent wall as well? Because only in this case it will serve as a cantilevered slab and that's ok. Otherwise, it will collapse for sure.

    • @OmarAbolnaga
      @OmarAbolnaga 3 года назад +1

      No, the cantilevered stairs are in tact by the great compression of the roof on the walls. The structure of the building is made from bearing walls so the compression on the walls is enough

    • @Understanding1
      @Understanding1  4 года назад +2

      We can remove the temporary support 48 hours after putting the roof slab.
      Because after slab casting the load on bricks is more to hold the slab and not being toppled.

      But yes, if we jump on them, we may feel vibration.

    Is it safe for the wall ?

    • @Understanding1
      @Understanding1  4 года назад +1

      Yes, it is safe for the wall. Till it has a slab on top. The weight of slab is huge and it prevents stepping slab to topple. The step may break in case of heavy load, but wall will be intact, due tremendous weight of slab on the wall.

  • @দ্বীনেরপথে-ধ১ছ

    is it strong enough

    • @Understanding1
      @Understanding1  4 года назад

      Its equally strong if designed well. But it is not recommended to have more than three feet wide hanging stairs. That's the limitation because it won't be strong enough then.

    Hello sir...after watching this video we got a idea of installing floating slab of 2' wide next to the window..window is 6' wide ...is it possible to cast a 2'x 6' floating slab like this...to sit and hangout near the window...it is an appartment and it is already constructed and is it possible after construction...please give ur suggession...

    • @Understanding1
      @Understanding1  4 года назад +1

      After construction that too if windows are installed, it's not possible. However you can cast the slab of asked dimensions and put in the window sill and to support the slab put steel brackets on the projection side. Make brackets beautiful so that it looks architectural beauty. Some thing like this www.pinterest.com/pin/57350595243196698/?nic_v2=1b32MMYMV

    not correct really, we have to have a beam along the stairs on top of the wall. Tread bars should be anchored in to it and it should be monolithic concrete. then only the step will act as cantiliver action

    • @Understanding1

      These steps have width equal to brick (9 inches) and the thickness of slab is 3 inches to match the brick. The length is 3 feet.
      We have three 10mm bar as reinforcement 3/4 inch from top.

    • @gauravxd7949

    • @Understanding1
      @Understanding1  4 года назад +1

      You can do this but you need the thickness of slab to be 4 inches and wall have to be 13 inches instead of 9 inches. Secondly we cannot have exposed brick because the thickness of slab and brick won't match.

    • @Understanding1

      Dear Selva, any prefab construction is cheaper than cast in situ if done at site. This construction was little cheaper when i did it. I saved big money on shuttering and the quality was better.
      In India any thing that is not traditional is considered costly. A good Contractor and engineer will always starve for challenges.
